Spike TV has worked a deal with Lionsgate studios and bought the new “Rambo” film to air on the TV channel in the future. Spike bought the new “Rambo” for $4.5 million. Spike also picked up the first three “Rambo” films from CBS TV Distribution. My guess is that Spike TV wants to have a Rambo marathon, to air all 4 “Rambo’s” in a row in one day.
Since I already own the first 3 Rambo’s on DVD and I’ll soon own the new Rambo when it comes out for BluRay May 27th, I won’t need to watch this on cable TV.
But it’s no surprise to me that Spike TV will want to air the new Rambo since that TV channel loves to hype that film to death before it was out in theater.
The new Rambo (2008) DVD/Blue Ray cover is released, and there it is above. How cool is that? Isn’t that a sweet cover! I think it’s badass! Rambo will be getting a DVD and BluRay release on exactly May 27th. So mark your calendars and pick up a copy that day!
The DVD extras will feature audio commentary with Sylvester Stallone, deleted scenes, six behind the scenes featurettes, and a digital copy for the film for your Itunes and Windows Media players.
The BluRay version will include the same extras, but it will also have a gallery of trailers from the 3 previous Rambo films, and a bonus view audio picture-in picture commentary with Sly Stallone.
For those who don’t want the 2 disc SE or the BluRay, there is also a single disc edition with no extras, just the movie itself.
More info here:
I’m definitely buying the BluRay baby!
I’m really curious to see what the picture is going to be like in the Blu Ray edition.
I hope Sly does an “Extended” version of Rambo on DVD down the road to make the movie longer. I know he shot a lot more than 90 minutes of the film.
While the news of Sly Stallone filming “Rambo 5” in Bulgaria is just a rumour at this point what I can confirm is that Stallone just signed another “Rambo” sequel with Nu Image/Millenium. Remember, Sly was offered a 2 action film deal with Nu Image/Millenium and Sly went for it. Look like “Rambo 5” is the first film he picked for one of those deals.
More on it here:
Expect this news to soon be all over the Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Dark Horizons, Aint It Cool, etc.
“Rambo 5” may as well be his next movie, I guess.
Sly admitted that he has a few action movies left in him before he gets any older so he may have well get them done before he ends up in a nursing home or something.
I think there should be 6 Rambo films to catch up with the 6 Rocky’s.
It’s confirmed. Sylvester Stallone is gearing up for another Rambo, yes a Rambo V will be coming. Stages in Bulgaria are being expanded to prepare for the next Rambo movie. Sly says he wants to take the next Rambo to a different genre. It’ll have action in it of course, ’cause it can’t be a Rambo film with no hardcore action, but Sly wants this one to have a different feel, something that hasn’t already been done.
Sly says Rambo V will NOT be a war movie.
Aint It Cool reports:
I’m happy Sly confirmed another Rambo. Glad he’s doing another one. After seeing “Rambo” (2oo8) as pictured above, I want to see more, more, more, and more!
What genre will Sly take Rambo in?
Will Sly turn Rambo into a romantic film? Rambo falls in love with a woman and gets married?
Rambo will not be turned into a comedy ’cause that won’t work.
The only genres I can see Sly turning Rambo in is maybe either a horror film, sci-fi, or a thriller. Rambo battling against monsters and aliens would be kind of cool, I guess.
On top of that, I don’t want Sly working on Rambo V right away though, I really want him to do “Death Wish” next. Come on Sly! Get back home to do your next movie! You have a number of die hard fans waiting for your next film already!!!!
There have been Rambo videogames before, but only for classic consoles like the Atari or the original Nintendo. There hasn’t been a Rambo videogame for any of the new videogame consoles made yet.
I would like Sly Stallone to go to Sony to see if they can make a new current Rambo videogame for the Playstation 3. It can be a first person shooting action/adventure game with Sly Stallone doing the voice overs for Rambo of course.
There are lots of videogames being made from the movies, like there’s a “Tranformers” videogame out, there’s also a “Alien vs. Predator: Reqiuem” game out, but where’s Rambo, Sly?
The new “Rambo” film did very well in box office and I think it’s appropriate that it should get made into a videogame by now.
I would buy it and play it if it gets made for the PS3 for sure.
