In celebration for the new “Star Trek” movie, out in theaters now, which I will see later this afternoon…here’s another week for “5 Films a Week” for those that go out shopping for DVD’s/Blu Ray or renting them at your local video stores. This post is a sci fi edition.
I’ll name 5 good sci-fi films for you to check out when you’re out looking for new DVD’s/Blu Ray’s to get…enjoy…
1. Metropolis (1972, silent film)
(Can’t forget this classic, I’m not into silent films much, but I fuckin’ love this one!)

2. Alien
(Any of them, I love all 4 of the Alien series, tells a great story on Ripley on all of them. Of course, the first one will always be a classic.)

3. Blade Runner
(One of my favorite Harrison Ford films and a good futuristic actioner.)

4. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
(Spielberg did a lot of Sci fi films in his career, I thought this was his best one…)

5. Superman I, II, and III
(I love Superman I, II and III, but didn’t like the fourth one at all. Yes, I thought “Superman III” was a very good movie. I like Richard Pryor being the leading guy in it, plus the film told a unique story. I always think Superman II with the super villains will always be the best one though.)
