I don’t mean to slam this radio station contest, Pyx 106 is doing for local music, an opportunity for a local band to open for Bon Jovi at SPAC but I gotta say that it’s pretty horribly done for a lot of reasons.
Beware, the page will take a LONG time to load as it did with me.
Check it out here:

Local Capital District bands have been trying to get people to vote for them on this page through their facebook pages.
No offense to the bands that are on this contest, I’m not voting a thing until they fix their damn page. First off, why would bands want to enter this thing in the first place? Secondly, why would a band want to open for Bon Jovi? The only reason I can think of why because it seems that all bands are so hung up on fame and they want it. They claim they don’t want it, but it’s a lie. Why are bands so obsessed with wanting fame these days? I don’t get it.
With my music, I’m not obsessed with opportunity. All I care about is having fun and playing the music. I’m not worried about silly things such as this. If I never open for a famed national act, I’m fine with that. I don’t know why bands obsess with that shit. I’m not jealous or anything but all these contests for radiostations is just a ploy to help promote their station, that’s all they do it for.
If I was asked to open for Bon Jovi, not saying if I will, but if I was asked, I’d probably turn it down because that’s not where I want to go is rush into playing for a national act. You don’t want to get too ahead of yourself here. Plus, I can’t stand Bon Jovi. Musicians shouldn’t worry about fame too much ’cause it’s a tough road and honestly, you’ll never get there. That includes me as well.
