So I’ve been playing, “Call of Duty: Black Ops” a lot lately. I’ve became addicted to it, quickly. Not sure when I’ll stop playing this game, lol. I’ve played the “campaign” storyline game. I was really impressed with it. The new “Call of Duty: Black Ops” game is getting a lot of negative reviews, because they claim the storyline is boring, the haters claim that the action and graphics is pretty much the same, but I disagree. I find nothing wrong with the game at all. I personally find it the perfect Call of Duty game all around.
I would like to take the time to defend the game, on why I think it’s the best Call of Duty game ever made. The story takes place during the Cold War in the 1960’s. The story focuses on the CIA’s Special Activities Division, Studies and Observation Groups. These soldiers go on missions around the globe, such as the Ural Mountains in Russia, Cuba, Loas, and Vietnam. It mainly focuses on the story about a Russian experiment, called Nova. 6, which is a dangerous plague set out to kill people.
In the game, it opens with SAD/SOG Alex Mason, who is a soldier you play. He is found strapped in a chair, in a room with television screens all over. He is in a room, not knowing where he is and he doesn’t know who his captors are. The missions in the game are flashbacks from the past, leading up to explain how Private Mason got held captive in that room. In that room, there are numbers flying everywhere. Giving you clues on something of what’s ahead. In the story, President John F. Kennedy was brought into this. Yes, JFK is an actual character in the game. And they showed actual and real Kennedy footage in the game too. Kennedy wants to assasinate a villain name Dragovich, so a soldier name Dreznov brainwashes Mason to go and hunt down Dragovich, before Dragovich assasinates President Kennedy.
You see, I really liked the storyline. While the storyline might be a little silly for some, the way I look at it. It’s a very serious storyline, that is very political focusing on President JFK. I see this game as a homage and tribute to JFK. When the games over, you can actually play President Kennedy and kill zombies in the White House, which is crazy but fun. While the Call of Duty: Black Ops, “campaign” storyline is mostly fiction, of course, there is also some real life history thrown into it. The storyline kept you hooked to the end.
I als played the Zombie online play, which you team up with three other people online to kill zombies in other maps. The zombie game is a blast. You start off with fighting a few zombies at a time, and a whole bunch more will come out after a few rounds. It’s actually pretty challenging to play.
As for the regular multiplayer, it is pretty much the same as the other COD games except the maps are different, the weapons and there are a lot more camping spots. “Camping” means, hiding out and wait until another player walks by so you can get ready to kill. I know everyone hates camping in first person shooter games for online play, but they do make hiding spots for a reason, right? I find nothing wrong with the multiplayer. Server works for me fine. I never got kicked out and the connection was perfectly fine.
Therefor, I’m pretty happy with “COD: Black Ops”, it’s an excellent game. I don’t know what the haters and critics are talking about. I’m going to play this for a while longer, then I’ll move on to the new, “Gran Turismo 5”.
