Why is that CRUMBS site all over Lana Del Rey? Seriously…

I used to like and support CRUMBS.net, but with the new bloggers and owners over there, the site have recently gone way downhill, in my opinion. Whenever pop star, Lana Del Rey, releases something new, the CRUMBS blog would be all over it. Yes, Lana Del Rey was from this area, she grew up in Lake Placid, New York, so that’s considered, Capital District, yes. She wasn’t around this area for that long though. After doing a little reading about her life, she was actually born in New York City. So technically, she’s not a Capital District native. She stayed in Lake Placid for a while, but she moved to Connecticut at age 14 to battle alcohol dependence. She had a drinking problem even when she was underage. After this, Del Rey moved back to NYC at age 18 to pursue a career in music. She didn’t do anything for music when she was around here. So why is the local music scene here all over this woman? I don’t get it. Doesn’t make a bit of sense. Plus, her music is nothing all that special and doesn’t get to me.

I just go to CRUMBS for the Cafe radio interviews, but the blogs over there haven’t been that interesting. I’m honestly starting to miss, the previous owner, Andy Gallo, who used to run the site, and I think he ran the site, a lot better.

When people want to come for local music information or bands, most of the local music scene comes here to my own site more than the others anyway. I get more views than most local music blogs, not trying to sound like an egomaniac ’cause it is the truth.

  1. How do you know for a fact that you get more views than CRUMBS or any other site?

    1. I just know. A lot of musicians read my site on a daily basis more than others. A lot of musicians know who I am and many look after me. I keep in touch with a lot of local musicians in facebook.

      1. On top of all this, I know another reason why CRUMBS is all over Lana Del Rey, is that they are hoping to get more views and bring more people to their site. Lana Del Rey is a famous national artist. It isn’t cool to over promote her there ’cause she’s going to over shadow the local bands and artists trying to get recognition. That what is getting to me about CRUMBS. No disrespect to Andrew Gregory or the other bloggers, I’m just telling it like it is. I just think it’s wrong for them to have a famous national artist hog up the spotlight on a local musicians site, see what I mean? Nobody around here cares for her to begin with, she’s a mainstream pop artist. CRUMBS is going down the shitter for this reason. I used to like that site and their blog, but I can explain a few reasons why they are turning me off.

I’ve asked to blog at CRUMBS myself a few times in the past so I can blog about local music ’cause if I blog there, I would help them get more views and bring more people. They don’t want me for some reason, but that’s okay. I’m doing a good enough job supporting local music on my own right here.

  2. They don’t want you because you because of your self serving ranting style.

So you don’t know for a fact that you get more views than other sites. It doesn’t surprise me that you miss the old CRUMBS because you are reverting back to your old self and your old ways of being negative. CRUMBS doesn’t want you so get over it. If you could back up your opinions better maybe they would.

  3. Dude you don’t have more views just because you’re aware of 1 or 2 musicians from facebook viewing you. And you don’t support local music, you bash it. That’s why CRUMBS says no to you. Not trying to hate on you, just telling the truth. Agree with me or not you gotta admit that you agree with me.

    1. Nope. I don’t agree with you. I may have been a pretty mean ranter in the past, but I’m not like that anymore. On top of that, the old CRUMBS site brought it upon themselves. I mean, They used to have a “Rant & Rave” board, which gave people the freedom to do that. That’s why other musicians followed on the ranting thing. I’m not the one responsible for shutting the old site down, other musicians had a hand in making that happen because of their bad behaviors too. Other musicians had worse attitudes than me and a lot of them still act like they do to this day.

I still do rant to this day, yes, but I’m still gonna have negative opinions and thoughts, and if people don’t like it, I don’t care. I can be who I want to be. The local music scene doesn’t have the right to control who I am. There’s nothing wrong with being an outspoken person about local music, I never understood why people get their panties in a bunch about stuff I say, ’cause that’s what music is here for. Give honest feedback on it.

There’s a few other reasons why I don’t like the new CRUMBS site like I once did… 1) They got rid of CRUMBS radio, which the site is the whole point of it 2) The local music blog they do over there is supposed to be for “Discussions”, yet, they continue to advertise events and stuff 3) They have Ralph posting over there and I believe he has enough attention.

I just go to CRUMBS for their radio interviews ’cause that’s the only thing they do a good job with.

It should be a known fact that my blog is a pretty popular site in the local area, you know that. Don’t have to prove anything, ’cause everyone knows. I don’t care if CRUMBS doesn’t want me to blog over there, ’cause I’m doing a good job here.

I do support local music here, very much. Over the past several years, I’ve been giving bands shout outs on here if I like their music and been going to a lot of shows. I’m gonna have some negative opinions on the music scene, yes, but I don’t hate on it and bash on it. I have the right to be a critic, all I want to. Think before you speak please.

  4. “Think before you speak please.”

I think that’s advice you should take, Kev. 😉

    1. You guys gotta admit that what I say about that site, I am right. I’m pretty sure others agree. I don’t think I’m alone.

      Kev

      1. And another thing that bothers me about the new CRUMBS is that it’s sponsored by WEXT 97.7. They don’t need anybody helping them. They were doing fine before. I think that could be the reason why they got rid of CRUMBS radio (which was my favorite part of CRUMBS for years, their online radio thing).

      2. Looking at my stats, I have about 118 subscribers, and I get about 500 – 800 views a day on this blog, sometimes, even way over 1,000 views, depending how controversial this blog can get. I’m pretty sure other local blogs around the area don’t have that many views and subscribers. I’m happy.

        Kev

      3. btw, I get readers from around the world, this is not just a Capital District blog, readers can be from anywhere. I welcome anyone to be a fan of this site.

      4. Last thing, I want to bring up before I close the comments in this post. Every time I talk about CRUMBS on this site, everyone wants to talk about how badly I talked on their old board in the past. That was in the past, not now. Of course, the past will always find a way to come back and haunt me, but I’m okay with that. Back in the earlier days, I was pretty new to the scene back then and didn’t understand a lot about it, maybe that’s why I was acting like that? With that being said, other musicians were no different than me, the rest of them were douchebags too.

I’m tired of people thinking I don’t have the right to have an opinion on the local music scene or local bands. This music scene is positive? *sigh* please… this music scene is far from positive. It’s been a pretty negative scene from day 1, it hasn’t changed. I have been treated pretty badly and unfairly for the past several years or more. I just learn to ignore all the bullshit, and concentrate on my life and music. This scene is full of trolls, haters, and douchebags. The more you guys keep up the bullshit, the more it proves my point.

Closing comments ’cause I have nothing else to say here, move along please.
