Here are my top 10 music albums of 2008… I barely ever listen to national music anymore and once in a while, a really good album does came out that I actually loved.
The list below in order:
1. Ac/Dc “Black Ice”
Definitely tops the best album of the year. I can’t stop listening to this. Such a killer album all the way through. This is definitely Ac/Dc’s best album with Brian Johnson. This album is definitely a must buy.
2. Metallica “Death Magnetic”
The boys in Metallica are back and better than ever!!! This album is hands down amazing. Their best since “Master of Puppets”. “Death Magnetic” is another album I listen to non stop.
3. Guns N’ Roses “Chinese Democracy”
Yet, another legendary rock n ‘ roll band coming out of hiding after all these years. I was extremely impressed and blown away by this album. Who cares about the failed sales of this album. As long you enjoy the music, that’s all it should matter. I love the album. Axl did a brilliant job with the songwriting.
4. Oasis “Dig Out Your Soul”
Another band coming out of hiding. Noel and Liam are back and this is their best album since “What’s the Story Morning Glory”. Noel and Liam are fine songwriters, I admire their work greatily.
5. Queen + Paul Rodgers “The Cosmos Rocks”
The new Queen album kicks total ass. Another one I’m starting to listen to a lot more. Brian May’s guitar work is mind blowing, I’d reccomend you this one.
6. The Clash “Live at Shea Stadium”
Finally, there’s a new live album by the Clash. I love this disc a lot too. It’s great to hear Joe Strummer and the guys performing a live concert, yes, they do sound totally different live then in the studio.
7. Joe Satriani “Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock”
It’s a shame that the Satch doesn’t get much recognition in the industry when he should. This man has talent. He’s back again with another killer album.
8. Kate Nash “Made of Bricks”
I find myself listening to this record quite a lot. I really dig Kate Nash. I admire her songwriting style and enjoy listening to her singing voice.
9. The Verve “Forth”
Yet, another band coming out of hiding after a long hiatus, they are the “Bittersweet Symphony” boys, The Verve. I picked this album up earlier in the year and it was actually a real good listen. I still like “Urban Hymns” more, but “Forth” is pretty enjoyable.
10. Jennifer Hudson – self titled
I didn’t put her in the top ten just because of her tragedy and not just for feeling sorry for her or anything, I picked this album because she truly does have talent and her music is fun to listen to. I’m not much into the R&B and pop thing, but sometimes when I get tired of listening to rock and roll, I would want to listen to something different. Whenever I want to listen to something lighter and not so loud, I would put this album on. I’ve heard a lot of Idol star albums, and pretty much Jenniefer Huson put out the best album from the American Idol industry. This album is actually a pretty good one. I dig it.
Enjoy.
