Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer” is their best album since “Ten”…

I also listened to Pearl Jam’s new record, “Backspacer” on my Ipod at the gym today as well. I also loved this album. Most of it’s fast and upbeat rock n’ roll all the way through, except there’s a few slow and mellow acoustic songs, and I even liked their slow songs on the disc.

Some are comparing this album to be more toward the “Ten” direction, but I disagree, I hear a lot of “Vs.” and “Vitalogy” in it.

Eddie is always a great singer, but what impressed me the most is the band playing their instruments. Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament all played extremely tight on the record. The sound is big, fat, and unique.

“Ten” will always be the best record they’ve ever done, but “Backspacer” is close behind it. Now I see why this album lands high in the Billboard even if this record doesn’t have a label. It was self released by the band themselves, they paid with their own money to get this album released.

It was a very good album. I enjoyed it, and you should check it out too.

  1. I’m glad you like it. I’ll have to give it a listen based on your recommendation.
I hate this band badily but if you say this one is good I’ll try it.

The only thing good about that singer is that he was friends with Johnny Ramones.

I think that album cover is a total rip off of KISS “UNMASKED”

I agree with you on that McKenzie Phillips, though. She is not as pretty as Valerie Bertenelli at all. MP must have been jealous of her like crazy. Even that Schneider was better looking than McKenzie Phillips!
Spuds McKenzie is better looking than McKenzie Phillips!

Rock on, man. This is a good blog.
