I like listening to music live in concert a lot more than studio albums because with live music, it feels real. Songs sound different at every show, different improvising skills, they play the songs much longer live than in the studio, tighter guitar playing, etc. Most people don’t like to listen to live albums but like to listen to studio more. I like the other way around.
Brock’s Top Ten Favorite Live Music Albums are here, with no explanations, I just love these records:
- Led Zeppelin – “How the West Was Won”
- Jimi Hendrix – “Live a the Filmore East” (2 disc set)
- Johnny Cash – “Live at Folsom Prison”
- Eric Clapton – “MTV Unplugged”
- David Bowie – “Bowie at the Beeb”
- The Clash – “Live at Shea Stadium”
- Metallica – “S&M”
- Lou Reed – “Perfect Night – Live In London”
- Nirvana – “MTV Unplugged In New York”
- The Grateful Dead – “Dozing At the Knick”
