For the past couple of weeks, the WWE haven’t been doing any celebrity guest hosts. It seems they gave up the celebrity guest thing for good. I guess, the WWE finally got the point that the celebrities were overshadowing the spotlight of the wrestlers. WWE should be a wrestling show. Not about celebrities and the media. The whole celebrity thing was stupid anyway. I think the whole point of the celebrity thing is that the WWE was worried that people wouldn’t watch WWE anymore since the PG switch. That’s the reason for the celebrity guests, to keep people watching. The whole celebrity thing was pointless. Of course, the fans would continue to watch WWE. The company still have their longtime loyal fans, like myself for example. We would still watch even without the celebrity guest hosts.
Last Monday’s RAW in Albany proved that the WWE don’t need celebrity guest hosts anymore. That RAW episode in Albany, where CM Punk joins the Nexus, will be a classic RAW episode 20 years from now. I was very happy when I saw that amazing moment live. That night, I had a smile on my face, and clapping. I wasn’t booing. When I was at the Times Union Center watching the show, I didn’t really cheer the good guys and boo the bad guys. I just cheered and booed who ever I wanted. I would cheer the wrestlers that I like even if they were heel.
It’s interesting how a wrestling audience would react to you when you cheer the bad guys and not boo them. Other people in the crowd would look at you with a nasty look like if you’re the bad guy or something. That’s how people take wrestling seriously and think it’s all real. I miss the old days of WWE when the audience would cheer and boo who ever they wanted, like back in the Attitude days when that happened.
People criticize me for being a wrestling fan, but it’s something I’ve always enjoyed my whole life. I’ll never outgrow wrestling. Wrestling is part of my life. I respect the performers and they do put on good shows, they’re talented, no matter what you think of them.
