Roy Orbison, his 5 greatest songs…

23 years ago today, we lost one of the rock n’ roll greats. That man, is Roy Orbison. The man had the full package. He had everything a musician can ask for. He had the musical songwriting talent, he could play guitar well, he had the good looks, and the thing that he’s most well known for was his powerful singing. While I’m sure many kids of today’s generation, don’t even know who he is, they should discover him. I’ve always loved Roy’s music. I am a huge fan of his stuff myself.

Here are 5 of his greatest songs of all time:

  1. Pretty Woman – How can you NOT like this song? If you don’t like this song, then you are not a fan of music. This song is the reason we all LOVE Roy.
  2. You Got It – Great rhythm playing, catchy as hell song, and it never leaves your head. Love this tune too much.
  3. Ooby Dooby – This song proved that this guy could sing just about anything.  Plus the guitar playing is just kick ass. Always my favorite track.
  4. It Takes All Kinds of People – Man, I just love this fuckin’ song. Powerful, emotional and intense. Gives you goosebumps all over. It’s a very sad song. Even though it was aimed toward the gospel genre, I still love it too much.
  5. Unchained Melody – There’s been way too many covers of this song over the years, and I think Roy had the best version. Pretty sick and his voice just sends chills down your spine in this track. Amazing.

Enjoy.
