I’m not looking to become a guitar virtuoso or anything like that, I just want to improve a little on the instrument. Play a little more professionally. Trying to get better at improvisation, learning how to count rhythm in music, theory stuff, scales & modes, playing along with a metronome, etc. I just want to be accepted as a musician, so I’m doing my very best on trying to get better, so I can be considered an actual musician.
I’ve been practicing a lot more, and reading a lot more instructional stuff too. Whether I want to record music at home or play in an actual band, I need to get better. If I want to write better originals and improve my songwriting, I feel that this is what I need to do.
On mastering the art of improvisation, the trick to that is memorizing the sound of each note in your head. There are only 12 notes of music and it takes a long while to memorize the sounds in your head. I’m getting the hang of it and getting better. Once you memorize the sounds of the notes, you’ll be able to play just about everything you hear.
I would like to play in a band someday and this is another reason I’m trying to improve. Some people mistakenly think, I’m a great guitarist, but in reality, I’m okay. Not the greatest as some think I am. I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of learning.
Even if I’m unemployed and have no job as of this moment, I’ve been spending most of the day, playing guitar, other than going to the gym.
My main goal in guitar playing is get better at lead guitar soloing so I can play like my guitar heroes that I look after. I’m trying my best to become a great guitar player, and I would like to get there.
