Some folks out there would like to see me move forward in my music dreams. Travel around the US or even the world, playing tours, getting a label, and all that stuff, but honestly I don’t need to do all that. I just do music just for fun and the enjoyment of it, that’s it. I don’t take it seriously. I’m not desperate in making a name for myself like so many are out there.
Nothing wrong with wanting to make a name for yourself, but with my own music I don’t really care. I just liked to put my original songs out there for feedback, to see if people enjoy them or not. The honest criticism toward my music either good or bad, is actually a good thing to me. The negative criticism, inspires me to get better and try to improve.
I like making music for the internet. I just put it out there and see what happens. See what kind of response it gets. I don’t get defensive over negative criticism like so many out there do, ’cause negative criticism is actually good for you. When you’re being attacked by the public, being defensive of yourself will not get people to like your music. Sorry but it’s the truth. If you want to make your music better and improve, you have to listen to them. Make your songs better, and then the negative feedback will turn into positive. That’s how the music world goes.
While negative criticism don’t really bother me, I do wish people wouldn’t be so mean and offensive about it. Do honest criticism with more detail and insightful feedback without the bashing. Nothing hateful like, “You fuckin’ suck” or something like that. What I want to hear is, “You should sing in key. Sing with more emotion, guitar playing needs to be more energetic.” See? Not that hard to do. Give feedback with class.
Nope. A lot of people just want to be hateful and nasty. I’m not looking to be big with my music, ’cause music is what I do. It’s a passion of mine and in my blood.
