CD Review: Molly Durnin “Run”

So this singer/songwriter from Upstate New York, Molly Durnin, has finally released her debut album titled, “Run”. I just bought this album from Itunes today. The album has 11 tracks on it, and the songs are like 3 – 5 minutes long. The album was very well recorded, professionally made, and the sound quality is good enough. Molly is the real deal. She’s a true, “Do It Yourself” artist, that knows her stuff. I listened to this album 3 times straight. Didn’t skip any tracks once, and listened to the entire album, all the way through without getting bored. She has great pipes with her singing voice, and that’s what immediately draws you to her music. There’s a mixture of genres on this album. Something for everyone on it. There’s a little bit of rock, blues, country, folk, acoustic, etc. Most of the songs on the album are full band, and there are even electric guitar solos on it as well! Each song is very catchy. There are some of them that will make you want to bop your head up and down all the way through. Her songs can be pretty energetic and tight. She writes songs with heart. So if you’ll ask me what song to recommend you what stands out the most, I would suggest all of them. Not just one song. Every song is excellent. When you listen to this album, she’ll remind you of artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Patsy Cline and Fleetwood Mac, maybe?

She’s a very talented singer/songwriter. I need to see her live soon or maybe even get on a gig with her, sometime in the future. She’s a brilliant artist and one of the best around. I think she’s going to get far in the business.

Check her out, here.

  1. I played shows with Molly at the Muddy Cup back when I used to do that monthly acoustic showcase. Her music Is good and versatile. For those of us who are her fellow musicians, it really helps that she is a down to Earth sweetheart too.

    1. Yes, she does seem very friendly and kind. We definitely need more musicians like her around here, professional attitude and positive!
