I can take criticism just fine. Like I said, I have a thick skin and don’t let people get to me. As far as “commenting” goes on this site, and why I delete them. I delete them if I feel that those comments are insulting to me. If the comment is not worth to add to a discussion. Something that is not intelligent or insightful enough. I mean, the last thing a reader wants to do is to come on here, acting like they are better than me. Acting like they win debates or acting like you just proved that I can’t take criticism. That stuff is a no, no. When that stuff happens, it just shows me that you are the one who can’t hold a decent debate. You are the one who is being cowardly. The kind of replies I want to see, are intelligent discussions, with insightful things to back things up with. An actual conversation. Leave your ego at the door. You’re no better than me, at all.
The thing is, when a new reader discovers me, they have a hard time understanding me. So they get out of their way, acting like they have control over how I think and feel. It’s like a “Hey, you criticize other people, I’ll criticize you in return” kind of thing, just to see how it feels. That’s kiddie stuff, you know? Can you come up with a better discussion than that?
I also don’t need people telling me if I write negative things about music or whatever topic, I’ll get a backlash for it, and people could hate me in return. It’s like I haven’t heard that before, hey? People tell me this stuff all the time, so I’m used to people telling me what I can and can’t post. Actually, I enjoy being controversial and enjoy getting people all riled up. It’s what I do. Tell things like it is. I’m honest. I’m used to getting backlashes and used to people criticizing me in return, but I don’t care.
I’m just like all music fans you know? Since everyone else has the right to have negative opinions on what they want, that gives me the freedom to have the same. Free country. If I want to say that this band is shit, this venue is shit or whatever, I have the right to say that stuff. That’s what music is here for, to say whether or not you like things, you have the right be real about stuff. It’s okay to do. Giving feedback and criticism is a good thing
When people attack my music or talent in return, it just shows that they’re no smarter than me. They have no right to be part of the music scene, if they can’t handle honest criticism, so who’s the hypocrite now?
I’m glad there are no local music message boards anymore. Thank god for blogs, facebook and twitter, where it gives me the freedom to be real as much as I want to without people getting their panties in a bunch and kicking me out of forums and stuff. That’s why I love having my own home online where I can have my own freedom of speech. I welcome all comments and discussions, just be friendly and civil. That’s all I ask for. Again, if you don’t like how I run things here, fuck off. That is all.
