Remember, the old saying? “Haters are gonna Hate”? You hear those words all over the internet. It’s really true if you think about it. When you’re just a musician or an internet blogger or whatever you are, you are always going to get negative people coming out to hate on you for no reason. That’s all these guys do. Hate, hate, hate. It’s the same thing with bodybuilding. I get so much negative shit with my bodybuilding, when I would appreciate it if I got more positive support, yet, I keep getting people doubting my dreams and goals. People should be happy that I got into bodybuilding to become the best shape of my life, but nope, a lot of people want to shit on it. It’s the same with my music dreams as well. Whatever dream you want to have, you’re always going to get those haters.
If you get so many people talking shit about you, don’t feel bad about any of it. Don’t care about what other people think. Just because other people say things about you, doesn’t mean it’s true. What they say about you, is all opinion. Period. As much as I would love to have positive support on everything I do, I know that is not possible. I can’t please everybody. You’re never going to.
If you want to continue doing the things you love to do, you have to be above these guys. That’s why they want to hate on you ’cause they want to see you feel bad about yourself and they want to see you quit. I love doing all the things I love to do. Even with the blogging.
Some people don’t like my blogging style ’cause I’m the type of guy who is not afraid to speak my mind without any fear. I like telling things like it is. That’s who I am. If you don’t like me on here, then you probably won’t like me in person ’cause I’m the same way in the real world, a realist. I don’t let negative people bring me down. It’s just makes me much much stronger.

Edit to add: This rant is not just to defend myself, there are several other musicians I know who are in the same boat as me. Not being respected by the public.

I dunno. I put my music and bodybuilding out there for every to see also and don’t have anyone giving me a hard time. Maybe it’s you.
That’s cool. While’s its getting old and boring, that I keep getting negative things back about my passions, I just learn to ignore it. I’ll never give up the things I like to do. I’ll be playing my music, working out in the gym and blogging on the internet ’til the day I die.

I never criticized them, they criticized me, actually. I’m about to write another post about that, to clear the air about certain things.

But Kev, it’s a well known fact that you have been sending hateful messages to people, then blocking them so they can’t respond. “Haters Gonna Hate”. ? Pot. Kettle. Black.
I wouldn’t be doing that, if you guys weren’t publicly trying to make me look ridiculous in front of your fans. If you think I enjoy seeing all that stuff, think again. Just want us all to either get along or if not, call a truce and move on. This back and forth drama is old. Just want to go on with my life.

On top of that, this post isn’t aimed at one band in particular. I get a lot of disrespect from a lot of musicians out there and from actual local music supporters. I do know that I can’t demand respect, I have to earn it, and I’m learning those things as well. If a musician isn’t respected by the public, who cares, right? Just being yourself is all that matters. You don’t have to change your personality just because other people don’t like who you are. That’s what I do. Keep being me. People can’t change that.

To be quite honest with you all, I have a bit of a confession to make. Want to know the real reason why I haven’t been going out to the scene much? Not going out to see much of other band gigs or playing gigs of my own? It’s because this scene is full of evil, pretentious, and hateful people. I don’t owe anything to anybody. I keep doing the music thing ’cause that’s what I do, I’m a musician. I really do music for me and don’t really care if I’m liked or hated. Plus, the majority of talent in the music scene is not good anyway. I only support the good bands & musicians that I like, and there aren’t many around.
