Lorde “Pure Heroine” album… brief review…

lorde-pure-heroine-1024x1024

I just heard Lorde’s latest album, “Pure Heroine” on Spotify twice this weekend and I’m blown away with the album! It’s very good stuff. Even though this is not my type of music… I’m not into this whole pop/techno thing too much but I think I am obsessed with Lorde’s music. Why? It’s because her music doesn’t sound like a lot of bubblegum pop you hear on the radio these days. She doesn’t sound like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus. Lorde has a more mature sound with her music. She doesn’t sing like a sixteen year old either. When I first heard the “Royals” song, I thought a 30 year old woman was singing it but I thought wrong. The singer turned out to be younger than that. This album has full of techno beats and electronica sounds but the songs are very good. They are passionate and heartfelt. I felt goosebumps throughout this whole album. This kind of music is similar to Phantogram a little bit but Lorde is way better than them, in my opinion.

I wanna get my own copy of this album soon. So far, I think this is one of the best albums released this year. Why can’t today’s pop music sound like this? What I like about this album is that these songs weren’t really meant for you to dance to. She has a message with these songs and for once we have a pop artist with real talent. Even if I like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry… Lorde makes me want to forget who they are now.

I don’t listen to music in Spotify too much but I only use it if I want to hear a new album before buying it. If I like it enough, I’ll buy it. Lorde just got herself a new fan. Thanks for the great music — that talented young lady!
