Fitness goals for 2014

Yes, I’m still going with the bodybuilding thing and yes, I’m still planning to go through all 2014. My goal in 2014 is to hopefully learn how to beef up my chest a little more. I really need more work on the chest and improve the chest muscles some. I think everything else on my body looks pretty good. I have a decent six pack going, my arms are big, my back is pretty ripped, and my legs feel like they’re getting bigger too but the only thing I’m struggling with is the chest. If I want to have a well-rounded physique gotta focus on the chest more and I have been.

Trying to do more push ups. In the beginning, I wasn’t very good doing push ups. I could only do like 20-30 reps without stopping. So now I can do about 60 straight push ups without stopping so I’m getting there. I guess I’ve got to go extreme with the push ups — keep going with them even if I can’t do anymore… that’s how soldiers did it in the Army right? I refuse to do the bench press ’cause I find benching overrated and less effective. I prefer body workouts and dumbbells with the chest. For dumbbells, I’ll have to lift heavier.

I’ll have to eat a lot more cleaner too. I’ll admit that I’m not the best at the nutrition and that’ll get worked on too. Stay away from carbs/fiber/whole wheat stuff more. That stuff is important but don’t wanna over do it. I wanna focus on a low carb diet this year. Try to get even leaner and a tighter body. Eat more vegetables too which I have been doing.

How did I get a visible six pack? Many struggle to get it but it’s real easy to do. You have to avoid sugars and high calorie stuff most of the time. Watch out for high sodium too. You’ll have to give up alcohol and soda if you wanna six pack — sorry but that’s the truth. You’re not gonna get a six pack eating whatever you want. You have to eat clean most of the time so you can lower the bodyfat that’s covering it. You don’t get a six pack doing crunches and situps. You get it by eating real good and doing plenty of cardio.

I do a lot of cardio. Mostly walking and biking. Sometimes I’ll jog. You don’t wanna over do the cardio either. All you need is 20 minutes for a day.

Maybe this is why the ladies dig me ’cause they know I’m in decent shape and they respect that I take care of myself. That’s what the women like. They like men who are in good shape. You don’t have to be a huge bodybuilder to be in good shape but decent enough. If you wanna change your life for the better, fitness is an amazing thing. I’ve been lifting heavy on everything lately and feeling great.

Since it’s just at the end of the year, maybe I’ll post a new progress photo this week. Just to show you how I’m doing and not to show off for attention. That’s the funny thing about the fitness community. People who post half naked photos of themselves they get accused of doing that for attention and ego but in their defense they just wanna show their progress. People in fitness can never tell how good their body looks so they post photos online to get feedback. That’s why they do it. We can be our own worst critic.

When I post my progress pics out there, I’m even scared of the public reaction myself but surprisingly enough I get good feedback on my physique. People tell me in person in the real world all the time telling me how good I look. That’s what motivates me to keep going in bodybuilding. That’s what’s motivating me to keep trying to do more and get even bigger. Even the negative feedback keeps motivating me.

I’ve always dreamed of being big and tough looking. I used to be afraid of being shirtless in front of people but I’m not afraid to go shirtless anymore. There are many reasons why I got into bodybuilding. Not only to look better, feel stronger and healthier but to feel happier. Fitness helps take your mind off of everything and helps make you feel better. A good stress reliever, indeed. Do you have a lot of negativity and bullshit in your life? Well, hitting the gym will help put all that behind you pretty quickly and you’ll forget all the bullshit. Fitness will make you realize that life can be great.

  1. I have the same issue with my chest – sometimes genetics win. When I start back up in a couple weeks, I’m focusing solely on my chest: inclines, declines, crossovers, and nothing else for a month or two.

    1. Thanks. I’m sure I’ll get a bigger chest someday. This stuff just takes time and patience. I just need to work harder and heavier…

Maybe I should get a workout partner to help motivate me. I don’t do workout partners or trainers but for the chest workouts somebody helping me could be useful.

      1. Honestly, I believe my chest pecs has greatly improved and gotten a little better right now! I’m about to post a new progress pic in a little bit to prove it!
