More on “Evil Fred”…

I’ve been rehearsing the song, “Evil Fred” all day. Haven’t performed the song in a long time so I need more practice on it. I rewrote the lyrics to the song some so it can sound a little more sense and the re-write is 10x’s darker than the original version. I don’t want to upload this video performance until the vocals are perfect. After performing this song too many times at gigs, I’ve realized that this song is a bit of a challenge for me. I’ve changed the finger picking style of the song around a little bit.

I think it’s amazing that my loyal supporters still like this song to this day. That’s part of why I’m bringing it back. I’m hoping this video could go viral in youtube ’cause the lyrics might be more “controversial”.

My longtime supporters may already know the song but there are so many out there that still haven’t heard it. I’m hoping to put this song out there in a big way.

I know I was gonna stay away from dark & controversial songs but sometimes I can’t help it. Gotta write what comes to my head and give whatever makes the song work. I’ll keep pushing this song out there. I may get tired of it but as long as the fans like it and if that is what it’s gonna take for me to get recognition, I’ll make the song big again.

    1. I was never a big fan of official music videos but I might actually consider this one. Maybe an official music video for “Evil Fred” will help make the song go viral more. However, though, I would need to film it at an old abandoned house and would need a big giant axe which those things would be tough to find. I would need a lot of fake blood too. The video would have to be very scary and controversial in order for it to work. I would also need a big guy, bodybuilder type to play the Evil Fred character for the video. The video would be like those slasher flicks you see in the movies. That’s the vision I have for the video.

      1. I rewrote the lyrics, making the song taken place at an old house instead of a windmill and made the song about missing women so you can see who Fred’s victims are. I did it that way so the song can make more sense and tell an actual story. It’s a fictional horror story told by song so it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.

      2. Another thing, if I were to do a music video for “Evil Fred”, I don’t think I’ll be in it, though. I can’t see myself moving my mouth to a recorded vocal track. Maybe I’ll have a cameo appearance but that’s about it.

I would also have to hire a local film maker to make the video with… somebody who’s good at doing that stuff. That would be a lot of money but I could make the video homemade myself, though. That’s a thought.
