Purchased three new albums from Itunes this week…

From the Itunes store, I purchased three new albums this week. I recently bought: Sharon Van Etten’s new album “Are We There”, Neil Young’s “A Letter Home” and Al Di Meola “All Your Life” (A Tribute To The Beatles). I’ll listen to these three albums this weekend and will give each one a brief review. I know the Al Di Meola Beatle’s album came out last year but that’s another album of his I always wanted to hear so I decided to grab that one. I wanna get into more of Al Di Meola’s music ’cause he’s really inspiring me and I’ve been loving his music more and more. I’ll probably get more of his albums this summer.

I’ve been getting a lot of albums from Itunes lately ’cause the CD market is pretty dead obviously. You can still buy CD’s at record stores but you can only find latest albums of certain bands and artists. If you want an older album by your favorite band, you won’t be able to find those in record stores anymore. You’ll have to go to Itunes for that. That’s why I bought like 8 albums from the Allman Brothers in Itunes ’cause I know I’m never gonna find the CD at record stores like Best Buy, F.Y.E., etc.

Before the days of Apple and Itunes, the CD market was a big deal… you were able to find anything and everything you want but not anymore.

I don’t buy new albums too much. Only once in a blue moon I’ll buy a new album. I’ve been getting a lot of older stuff from Itunes since you won’t find that stuff in record stores anymore. Itunes is pretty much the record store these days.

I’m not a big fan of Itunes like most but I buy albums there anyway ’cause there is no other places where I can find music. When I’m not playing guitar, I love listening to music by other bands & artists. I like listening to music to relax and to help me think. Helps get my mind off of things.

I’ve been a music lover ever since I was a child so I’ve seen how the music industry changed over the years. I’ve seen how it went from vinyl to cassette to Compact Disc and now the world of MP3 players have taken over. I don’t think a new format will come around anytime soon. Apple and Itunes will be around for many years up ahead.

    1. I have been a Neil Young fan for years. I have a lot of his albums in my collection. I love Ted Nugent’s stuff too, though. “Stanglehold” is one of my favorite songs of all time. I like it more than “Cat Scratch Fever”.

Nugent’s politics maybe a little crazy, I agree but I enjoy his right-wing politics and I agree with almost everything he says. He maybe aggressive and harsh over Obama but he’s just doing whatever it takes to get himself heard.
