Here’s an interesting guitar instructional video where this guy teaches you how to write killer guitar solos. How do you write killer guitar solos? Well this guy explains that you come up with a guitar solo by not having a guitar in your hands. He explains you come up with the guitar solo by listening to the music and the solo will come up in your head. When it comes up in your head, you sing to it and try to apply it on the guitar.
Which is good advice really and I’ll take it.
Which is why I’m trying my very best to get better at ear training and improvisation so I can be able to play what I hear in my head.
Why do you think all those guitar virtuosos play so great? The answer is simple really is ’cause they have what it takes to play what they hear in their head and that’s the kind of guitar player I wanna be. I’m working on it and trying the best I can.
My ear training is getting better and improving, though. I’m no guitar wizard yet but would definitely like to get there.
