BREAKING NEWS: Abby Sunderland, 16 year old sailor gone missing…

16 year old sailor, Abby Sunderland, has been reported missing at Sea. She was sailing in the Indian Ocean and she haven’t been heard from since she turned on the emergency beacon on the sailboat.

More on it here:

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/06/10/missing.teen.sailor/

Before assuming she sank or she died at a dangerous area in the ocean, stop and think how she can still be alive and sailing? Maybe she’s too busy trying to battle strong ocean currents, that she doesn’t have the time to contact emergency right now. Or maybe the sailing is not that dangerous at all where she is, and she’s sailing fine with no issues.

I just think she has worried parents after she turned on the beacons.

So yeah, I believe she’s still alive.

Anonymity and trolls..

I have been a frequent target of anonymity and trolls online for quite a while. I usually ignore that stuff and laugh it off, ’cause I find it amusing how people with too much time on their hands would waste all that time being obsessed talking shit about me. Making stuff up about me that’s not even true and all that crazy stuff. The thing is some people think they can do all that stuff and get away with it. If people want to bash and hate me that’s fine. I can’t please every single human being on this planet. Just my 2 cents, as long as people are using my full name publicly, it gives me the right to respond and to take action. If you bash someone using the person’s full name, the person you are bashing is in control. They think they have the right to do this, but the truth is, they don’t.

I learned from my own mistakes bashing people by full name, so I no longer do that anymore. The truth is, I don’t give a crap what people think or say about me. I’m being me, and will continue to be me. Some people are mad, ’cause they know my life is better than theirs and they probably don’t have much going on. I work a day job, I do bodybuilding/fitness, play guitar, have supportive friends/family, etc. Yep, I’m all good and happy. I’m a pretty strong guy and I don’t let silly things such as this bring me down.

I’m actually getting kind of bored of blogging. As you can tell, I’m blogging, less and less, ’cause I find other things to do other than hanging on the computer. I just wish certain people would do the same.

I do miss performing and playing on stage…

Believe it or not, I do have quite the fan following for my music. I had people come out to my past gigs because of my blog sites. I want to get back into performing again in the future. I took a hiatus from it, to get into fitness and hoping to write a new batch of songs which is what I’m still trying to do. Improve my guitar playing as well. Will even try to get a band going. Don’t ever think that I’m giving up music for good ’cause I will never give up. Never throw away your passions and dreams, no matter the situation. I will get back out to playing gigs again hopefully. When I write new songs that I’m proud of playing out, who knows, maybe I’ll start booking. Being on stage is a good time.

Tobiaz gets his laptop stolen…

I don’t mean to write about this guy again, but since he’s posting these things publicly for the whole world to see, it gives me the right to respond to it, check it out:

http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=61560782&blogId=534934509

I’m not gonna bash the guy but I’m gonna say this, like what the hell was he doing hanging in the alleys in Pittsburgh at like 2 in the morning? I told him in facebook, if he’s the only homeless person hanging around the streets with a lot of valueable things like a wad of cash, a laptop computer, cell phone, etc. You will be become an attraction to theives and muggers. Also, isn’t the Mexican War Streets in Pittsburgh really high in crime? According to google research it is a dangerous area to live ’cause of the crime. They didn’t call it the “Mexican War Streets” for nothing, don’t you think?

I told him this in facebook as well, it’ll be impossible for the cops to catch these guys who took the computer. In those cities, there are millions of people. The only way the cops will be able to catch these guys if Iaz gave the police a good description of what the men looked like or if Iaz snapped photos or videos of the incident for proof. I tried to warn him that he will keep getting himself robbed if he continues to hang out in the streets at night. I also warned him about muggings. I have a feeling he might get mugged at some point in the future. Yeah, getting mugged means getting beat up and everything of value gets taken off you. Then you wake up in the alleys with your shoes gone.

When he first arrived in Pittsburgh, he didn’t think any of this stuff would happen and he’s finally starting to realize it. There are violent criminals out there. He’s never gonna get his laptop back ’cause the guys who took it probably already sold it for drugs by now.

I wish Toby well, and hope he will start taking responsibility in travel safety. Maybe if he gets robbed enough times, maybe that will change his mind about Pittsburgh and maybe he will come back home to the Capital District if he can’t take it anymore. Who knows. Anything is possible.

Getting the hang of Music Creator 5…

Today I was messing around with the MIDI music software, “Music Creator 5” by Cakewalk. Was trying to figure out why the instruments wasn’t sounding real enough. Now I figured it out and it’s all set. I had to setup the Cakewalk Sound Center for it. The Cakewalk Sound Center is what makes all the instruments sounds real. Yes, they sound very realistic, almost like a real band. The bass guitar sounds close enough to a real bass as you can get. As long as you know the notes, time signatures, tempos, etc. You’re all set for creating band backup for your original songs. It’s not a bad program but I could use something better sometime in the future. I’ll just use this program for now just to get started with MIDI. Can’t wait to start making full band rock songs here.

Movie Edit Pro 16 by Magix

Today at Best Buy on my day off of work, I picked up another computer program. I picked up “Movie Edit Pro 16” by Magix company. I needed better movie making software so I can start making videos again in youtube. Something more professional. The movie making software I was using before wasn’t that great. The other software came free with my digital camcorder. Now I got something better, finally. In “Movie Edieet Pro”, you can make movies in HD, also in Dolby Stereo sound, and you can make movies in 3D as well. Will I start making Avatar like 3D videos? Who knows.

I will be using this software to make videoblogs, record live performances of my guitar playing at home, record other bands at shows, etc. All kinds of stuff. It is why I haven’t uploaded a new youtube video in a while ’cause I was waiting to get new software.

I have plans to go to a local music show next Friday night on the 28th of May at a venue called Burton Hall in Greenwich. A lot of local Greenwich people I know will be playing there including Harold Ford’s “Spirit of Johnny Cash” tribute which I can’t wait to see and will definitely video tape that performance for you all to see.

I haven’t installed this new program yet but will over the weekend so I can start learning how to use it. Yes, I’ll probably start filming small documentaries of my fitness and training adventures. I really want to do that soon as well. I don’t want a career in movie making or nothing like that, just something fun for youtube.

To the Times Union bloggers and readers…

There are anonymous imposters pretending to be me in the Times Union blogs in the comments sections. If anyone cares, the comments claiming to be mine at the Times Unions blogs are not posted by me.  It’s not even close to my writing style even though people try. Can’t these losers find a new hobby and get a life? lol….anyways, they think they do it to try and upset me. Not really. I actually find it kind of amusing as they are doing nothing but promoting my blog site which they are doing a good job of. I can’t do anything to stop it anyways, just ignore it and let it go. As a way to tell it isn’t me, I wouldn’t write, “as your fellow local celebrity blogger”, I wouldn’t talk about Tobias or the Legend or any other local musician in the comments or wouldn’t say any silly offensive things. It’s hard to believe that this is still going on. Are some people out there that obsessed with me? Wow. I don’t sit there and read every Times Union blog that this anonymous person does. The only one I read and sometimes post in for real is the CRUMBS one. The other blogs I’m not interested in. So keep it going, you’re just doing nothing but raising my views count for this blog. So thank you.

Kev

Edit to the add: To all bloggers of the Times Union one way to stop this is to NEVER approve any comments with my name Kev Brock written on it. I don’t see how it’s so hard for bloggers to tell if it’s really me or not. Most Times Unions blogs are crap anyways. I only like the CRUMBS one. It is identity theft and it’s pretty insane that no one realizes it. Shows that people online are totally whacked in the head.

Thought: Thinking about buying a bass guitar soon…

I have been thinking about buying a bass guitar for a long time. The reason? Simply for home recording. Another reason is, I don’t really like the sound of MIDI bass when working with full band tracks. I would like to have real bass guitar. So when I get the extra cash this summer, I’ll probably end up buying a cheap bass guitar sometime. I don’t think I’ll ever play bass guitar live, just for home Pro Tools recording. I would record guitar and bass guitar, then I’ll put MIDI drums behind it to make it sound like an actual band. I never played the bass guitar before in my life, but I learned that if you already know how to play the guitar real good, you already know how to play bass. Both instruments are pretty much the same except the bass only have four strings obviously. Plus, I don’t keep my original songs too complicated and they’re not that challenging to play anyways. I like to keep my originals simple.

I really want to make full band rock tracks which is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m learning and figuring it all out. I don’t have an actual band yet but I’ll just do all this myself for now.

Getting your original songs you hear in your head and onto to recording shouldn’t be that hard ’cause in “Music Creator 5” software you can manually enter notes in certain keys, tempos and all that. So you can match the melody you hear in your head and get them off your chest that way.

I got tons of rock song ideas I need to get out of me. They are upbeat and tight rock n’ roll. Not slow ballad stuff. I would say they would fit in the punk and glam rock genres. The stuff that you hear in the 70’s. The type of music that I mostly listen to.

Cakewalk’s “Music Creator 5″…

Yesterday at Best Buy, I picked up “Music Creator 5” by Cakewalk. A music program for MIDI and audio recording. I already have ProTools for Audio recording, but I picked up “Music Creator 5” for doing MIDI with it only. I installed the program last night, messed with it for a little bit. Couldn’t get MIDI playback to work and figured it out today. I got the MIDI playback to work on the new program. Using this software, you don’t even need a MIDI keyboard, MIDI mixer/interface and all that fancy stuff. You just use your regular wavelength built in MIDI synth. The MIDI on this program works and sounds fine. The instruments sounds  real enough. You can make your own drum patterns behind your songs if you want to. Soon I’ll be making full band tracks in no time once I learn how to use the software good. Don’t expect full band tracks from me right away as I still have to learn to work with MIDI first. I will use ProTools for recording real  guitar and vocals and will use “MC5” for recording MIDI band backup. Yep, I want to be a one man band. That is my goal.

MC5 seems like an interesting program. So far, I’m liking it. I plan to make some of my older songs full band versions too. It’s time I make some rock n’ roll songs here. Working with MIDI will be helpful for my guitar playing, especially jamming with lead solos which is what I plan to do also. I will make instrumentals first through MC5 just so I can get the hang with it and learn the program.

It’s time I make some full band rock songs and hopefully I start doing that once I learn how to use this program good. It will be a long while though ’til I get good at the software.
