Back from the Big Apple, NYC!!!!

Just got back from the all day bus trip to NYC. When we arrived at NYC in the Manhatten area. We took a walk and looked at a few shops. Then we visited Chinatown which was a pretty far walk but we made it. Chinatown was very cool. Interesting. Didn’t buy anything or eat anything there, just walked around to check the place out.

Then we walked over to the World Trade Center sights where the buildings used to be before the terrorist tore them down. You couldn’t see nothing there because they were surrounded by walls, behind those walls you could see nothing anyways because it was just construction workers still cleaning the place up after all the years since 2001 the buildings were destroyed. Even though you couldn’t see anything there just dirt and rocks, it was still emotional to see. That WTC area aka Ground Zero is part of US History, so it was very special to visit that area. I couldn’t imagine myself being there that day on Sept. 11, 2001, I can totally see how scary as hell to be around that area, and then you seee the buildings falling down. When you visit the WTC area, you immediately feel sadness. It was an intense moment. I didn’t care if I didn’t see anything around that area anyway, I wanted to visit that area to be part of history.

Then we took the Subway station back to Grand Central so we can head back to Times Square. Times Square was amazing. Loved all the lights and stuff.

We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe restaurant and that place was really cool, another big time place that has lots of history. The Hard Rock Cafe is a gift shop, nightclub, live concert venue, restaurant, all in one. In the restaurant they have actual guitars, real electric guitars that were played by Kerry King of Slayer and Dimebag Darrell of Pantera locked up in glass cages. I’ve also seen the actual black coat that Johnny Cash wore locked up in a glass cage as well. Very cool. I have pictures of the Hard Rock cafe coming soon. Food was great there too btw.

I did buy some things for myself in the city though. Did some shopping in Times Square mostly. I got some stuff from the Hard Rock Cafe, like a couple of Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt, a Hard Rock Cafe drinking glass, and a few other things from there.

I went to the MTV Store in Times Square ’cause they had some kind of Ac/Dc band thing on in there. In that MTV store was mostly Ac/Dc related stuff they were selling. They were selling almost every Ac/Dc CD in there, a bunch of Ac/Dc t-shirts and they were selling the Ac/DC Live Rock Band video games too. From the MTV shop, I bought 3 Ac/Dc albums on CD “Black Ice”, “Back in Black” and “The Razor’s Edge”, and I bought an Ac/Dc T-shirt with the bands logo on it. I used to have “Back in Black” and “The Razor’s Edge” in my collection a long time ago but lost them somewhere and re-bought the albums again.

Then I went to the Virgin Records megastore which was alright. It’s called a megastore so that place is HUGE. 3 Floors. From the Virgin Megastore, I picked up “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and “The Incredible Hulk” on DVD. For music CD’s I picked up the new Queen album with Paul Rodgers fronting the band, the new Queen album “The Cosmos Rocks”, I’ll review that album after I hear it, I also picked up Jennifer Hudson’s self titled debut disc. Although I said I wasn’t much of a fan of her music, I decided to buy her CD anyway, just to check it out and to help support her. I’ll probably end up liking her CD anyway.

NYC was a lot of walking but I like the exercise. Exercising and working out is beggining to become one of my favorite things to do recently. I’ll talk more about that in another topic.

I didn’t go to this trip alone. Went with family members. There was no muggers attacking us or nothing like that. It was all fine and good like I predicted before. It was raining most of the day but we bought them cheap unbrella’s people were selling in the streets there.

I’ll write more about the NYC tomorrow and I’ll post pictures too. NYC was a great time although I like California much better. I want to visit NYC a lot more often now.

Brock is going to NYC tomorrow, so I won’t be online!!!

I, Brock, will be taking an entire day off of blogging tomorrow ’cause why? I’m going to an all day long trip to NYC tomorrow. I’ll be leaving to NYC early in the morning, probably like around 5 in the morning. And then coming back home real late at night probably. I’m just going with family members and we’re going on a bus, we’re not driving ourselves there.

I’m bringing my digital camera to the trip with me to take pics and I’ll post ’em in the blog the next day. If I run into famous celebrities in public in NYC, I’ll do my best to ask them if they want to pose in a pic with me if I recognize someone if I’m lucky enough.

I don’t go to NYC a lot. In fact, I haven’t been there that much. I probably been to NYC like once or twice in my life. One time is when I was a young child, the first time I went to NYC is when I first met Henry “The Fonz” Winkler in person, yes, I really did meet the man in person a long time ago. I was on my way out of a NYC store and bumped right into Henry Winkler on the way out the door. Family members been telling me about it, I’m having a hard time remembering meeting Henry Winkler but it’s starting to come back to me. I can’t remember if he signed an autograph for me or not, I was too young of a child back then to remember anything.

2nd time I went to NYC is back in my 8th grade High School Field Trip. I won’t be doing Christmas shopping tomorrow in NYC, I’ll probably just do shopping for myself. I usually do my Christmas shopping a few weeks before Christmas.

Tomorrow is going to be a blast, I’ll tell all about it, the next day.

New blog rule…

I just came up with a new blog rule.

-No impersonating other people. There’s a lot of fake anonymous names impersonating other famous people or local people here in the blog and this is no longer allowed. Any of these comments like this being posted here will not be posted publicily. Come on readers. Knock it off and contribute to an actual discussion, instead of coming here being immature for your own amusement. This rule is effective immediately. I will add it to the rules page tonight.

A day at the Wilton Mall

Just got back from a long day in Saratoga Springs on my day off of work, spent the day at the Wilton Mall and other things.

Yes, I did buy the new “Dead Space” video game for the Ps3 I was talking about and I did see a new movie in theater today as well. I ended up seeing the movie “Body of Lies” starring Leo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe, review of that film coming later tonight.

Notice my blog posts are starting to slow down, I’ve been kind of busy lately. Which is good, I need to be out doing busy things more often.

About the petition/protest thing…

….it is simply over. I have decided to back down on this thing. I’m moving on because I have more better and more important things to do than this childish nonsense. I’ll admit it was kind of childish and lame, and there are better ways to handle these things. I removed all videos toward this matter and removed the blogs about that stuff. I’m also trying to remove the petition as well.

Best thing to do is to ignore all negativity and hate at you completely, then it will go away on it’s own. That’s exactly what I’m going to do from this point on.

Back to posting about entertainment news and posting about music which is what this blog is supposed to be about to begin with.

RANT: There is no such thing as “celebrity” in the Capital District!!!

There are certain people out there that think that just because you’re well known in the Capital District, when you get your name out there in this area, they think they get “fame”. How many times have I explained to you that there is no such thing as “fame” and being a local “celebrity” in the Capital District.

I am no big star or no big celebrity in this area. I am just a regular human being who is pretty happy enjoying life. Just a regular guy that enjoys living life, posting in my blog, just playing my guitar and writing songs. You really need to face reality that there is no such thing as “fame” in the Capital District area. Yes, there is a such thing as getting yourself recognized but that doesn’t make you celebrity.

Being local does NOT equal to national fame. The national news does not pay attention to what goes on in the Capital District. The only time when the national news do “national” reports about the Capital District is when Trey Anastasio was over here for drug treatment, 10 WWE wrestlers were suspended for failing the wellness policy in Albany, N.Y. when they performed here, and of course the Eliot Spitzer controversy.

If you want to be looked at like some celebrity, move to Los Angeles or New York City. You may have a better chance in getting “fame” in either of those two cities but you’re definitely not going to get it here in Albany, lol. But in reality, trying to get “fame” is not easy as it looks. It’s a long road, it doesn’t happen over night.

Many of the famous celebrities out there like movie stars, rock stars, sports stars, politicians, etc. They got “fame” because that’s what they were born to do. They grew up in fame because a lot of famous people grew up in a fame world. Celebs like Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, Ben Stiller, Sly Stallone, Arnold, etc. They got fame ’cause they were born with it. It’s what they grew up and survived on.

You’re not going to get fame here. Even if you do move to New York City or Los Angeles permanently, it still maybe impossible to get fame in those cities as well. If I moved to California permanently (I’m not saying I will but what if), I don’t think that’ll make me a famous blogger nationally either.

When you get fame, you’ll know… when you get a gang of papparazi following you everywhere you go 24/7 but you’re certainly not going to get that in Albany. And on top of that, I don’t want fame anyways. I am not blogging or playing music for fame, they are just a little hobby I like to do in life. I’m not aiming for no big career for music or blogging, they are just something I love to do.

There is no such thing as fame or celebrity here in this area. The truth hurts but sometimes the truth needs to be said and you need to get out of that fantasy world of yours.
