I think I can cover Sharon Van Etten’s “Love More”…

I think that’s a song that I can do acoustically. Just started messing around with it today. I’ll take my time with the song and hopefully make it a real good cover. I’m hoping it’ll get a lot of good feedback, much like the Whitney Houston video. I’ll spend some time working on Sharon’s “Love More” this week, see if I can sing it. Simple song to figure out, the music sounds like it’s just basic chords all the way through. Just four chords, that’s it.

How to play fast guitar…

I do want to become a fast guitar player but I’m taking my slow time, not rushing myself. I can play moderately quick, but I’m not yet a speed demon like Yngwie Malmsteen or Michael Angelo Batio, but I certainly would love to get there someday. You don’t want to rush playing fast guitar, and a lot of guitar players make the mistake of trying to play fast right away. I was guilty of that.

Steve Vai said through plenty of guitar magazines that the secret to playing fast, is starting off real slow. Play every note perfectly and cleanly, then build up speed a little. Always playing with a metronome. That sounded like a good idea, so I’ve been doing that a lot recently. Start off slow on the metronome, and go up a little bit each time. I don’t think I’ll ever be a speed demon, but I do want to play a little faster.

Because if I want to play kick ass rock n’ roll with a hard edge, that requires technical skill and a good ear. I’m trying to get good at both. I don’t want to be stuck playing power chords and easy chords, all the time. I want to expand my talent a little bit. Get into the more advanced level of guitar playing. To create bad ass rock n’ roll riffs, that requires theory and scale knowledge. I’ve been studying a lot of theory stuff too and that is also helpful.

I’m not rushing to be a guitar genius but that is my dream to get there and doing all I can.

Picked up some things from Best Buy today!

Well, other than seeing the piece of shit movie, “Vampire Hunter”, I did a little shopping at Best Buy. I picked up:

– Breaking Bad “Season 4” (I had to get Breaking Bad “Season 4” since it was on sale and Netflix is not streaming this season yet. I want to start watching this right away so I can catch up before Season 5 starts airing on TV next month)

I also picked up 4 music CD’s:

– Santana “Shape Shifter”
– Rush “Clockwork Angels”
– Neil Young & Crazy Horse “Americana”
– The Smashing Pumpkins “Oceania”

I’m back to buying albums on regular CD now ’cause I like that more than Itunes. Looking forward to checking all these out.

Why kids in school feel the need to be bullies…

So why do kids in school feel the need to bully other people? Why do they feel the need to be tough guys against the shy and weaker people? Kids just don’t pick on younger people. They usually target people who are shy, they pick on the mentally retarded and they usually pick on people who aren’t capable enough of defending themselves. Why do they do it?

Obviously, they have horrible parents, who raised them pretty badly. The media would blame all this on violent video games and movies, but it’s how the parents raised them. They raised them pretty irresponsibly, which is how they grew up to be. Another reason that kids turn into bullies, is that they have problems in their life themselves. When these bullies first go to school, maybe they weren’t that popular at first. They start bullying as their way of making friends with others. Usually, bullying almost always happen with a group of friends in school. It’s very rare that bullying happens with just one kid doing the bullying, almost always a group of kids. Kids bully ’cause they think it’s fun and entertaining to them. They want to feel accepted with the crowd in school. During high school years, that’s when kids start experimenting with smoking cigarettes/weed or drinking alcohol underage, so their bullying starts from there. Not just kids with a troubled life are bullies. Even the most popular students and successful sports stars in school, they can be bullies too. I’ve seen it all.

Thing is, a lot of kids hate school. They HATE IT. So they pick on other people for their own amusement ’cause they go through boring days in class. Kids will find places to fight after school, at an area where the kids won’t get caught by the school staff. All this campaigning on bullying is a waste of time and it will never stop it.

The only way to put bullying to an end completely is parents need to raise their kids better. Plus, the victims need to defend themselves better too. Learn how to use your temper in return. You have to be mean and be tough to them in return. Don’t beat them up first, ’cause that will just get you in trouble instead. If they beat you up first, it’s okay to fight back to defend yourself. Not only high school boys get bullied. Girls get bullied too. Kids even bully adults that are way older than them too. I’ve seen it all.

You need to be tough. Don’t let them think it’s okay to do it. Grab them by the neck and get in their face if you have to, scream a bunch of swear words or smack them across the head or something. It’ll give them a hint. Be like the Karate Kid, take some karate or something. Do anything it takes to defend yourself. You have every right.

Computer problem solved, I think???

I think what was doing the computer freezing and why the mouse was doing weird things is that the wireless keyboard/mouse was malfunctioning badly. So I had to trash the wireless and go back to the wired keyboard/mouse. Things seem to be working perfectly fine now. Usually when something goes wrong on a computer, it’s almost always something so easy to figure out. Isn’t that kind of crazy?

Computer problems seems have been fixed!!!

For the past month or so, I’ve been having computer problems again. What’s been going on, is that I’ve been getting freezes, lock ups. Computer will hang, but you could still move the mouse. The keyboard cursor will also jump and move backwards to the beginning by itself. No virus. No malware. After a little research, I found out, the machine had too many things running in the background. Taking up too much CPU. So I went to msconfig, and found a list of things checked. I did research on each msconfig app on there to find out which one I needed and which one I didn’t need. There were three apps, I didn’t need so I disabled them, restarted computer. And there you go, the computer seems back to normal again. So far, no freeze ups or hangs.

I’ll see how it goes the rest of the day. Should be fine now, definitely.

Proving the doubters wrong, how to deal with it…

Whether you’re into fitness, music, writing, acting, film making, etc. or whatever career dream you have…you’re going to get a mixture of both haters & doubters. There is a big difference between haters and doubters. “Haters” are the type of people that will come out and trash talk ya, for no reason. “Doubters” are the type of people who will not think you will succeed in your dreams and goals.

This post is about, “doubters”. If you’re getting too many people calling you delusional or laughing at you, or if you don’t get enough people that are supportive of your dreams, don’t ever let that stuff bring you down. Stay focused on your dream and don’t give up, no matter how much negativity gets in the way with things.

Best thing to do is not listen to anybody. If your goal is to be a big rock star someday or have a ripped body in fitness, the key is only care about yourself and keep going. You don’t have to give up if too many people are getting on to ya. That’s right, fuck the world and what everybody thinks. You must focus on you and not listen to what everybody else have to say.

For example, I want to become a better guitar player and singer. People don’t think I will ever become a better musician, but I could prove them wrong if I keep going. The same thing with fitness. I want to become the best shape of my life someday, and of course, I’ve gotten laughed at by people, saying it will never happen. Whatever you want to do, nothing is stopping ya.

If you already are getting too many doubters, saying things will never happen, that means you already are successful.

Everyone either wants to be famous or they think they are famous…

One thing, I find interesting about the Internet, is all the crazy delusions and fantasy worlds that goes around people. A lot of people, want to think they are stars these days, or they just want to be. This post is not aimed at just musicians and bands. This goes for other people who think they have a career in something. This goes for bodybuilder trainers in YouTube, models in Facebook, local politicians, professional photographers, etc. Whatever it is you do, everyone wants to think they are great at something, so they promote themselves to death on the Internet as a way to get their talent out there more.

I understand that these guys want to publicly show off their talents. If you like what you do, please try to understand that the Internet is not going to help you make the big time. Some of the guys even think they are in the big time when they are not. It’s very rare that the Internet makes people famous. If fame is what you want, you must do more work beyond the Internet. Again, this is not just for bands, any career.

Go back to college to study your career dream more, take some classes. Do a lot of reading. It’s a long road to be successful at something and sitting there on the Internet is not going to pull it.

Some will accuse me of thinking I am famous or wanting to be famous, but for you longtime readers, you would know I never thought of myself this way. I leave my ego at the door. The Internet makes it easier for people to pretend they are a celebrity, when they are not. It’s crazy. Everyone wants to think they are a star, because, I blame it on gossip sites like TMZ and such.

A lot of folks on here who think they have a career, think they are something important and special. In other words, they are self centered. They just want to be at the center of your attention at all times, and Facebook is evidence of that. People who run their own like fan pages are crazy. I just read them for kicks, I don’t post on like pages too much.

Going to WWE RAW “World Tour” event tonight…

Yep. Tonight I’m going to a live WWE show, “RAW World Tour”, tonight at the Glens Falls Civic Center. It’s a house show, so it’s not going to be a televised event. Still going to be fun ’cause I like seeing WWE live. It’s fun to see all the guys you see on TV live in person. I’m looking forward to booing the hell out of John Cena tonight. Hopefully, Brock Lesnar will be in Glens Falls to perform. I doubt it ’cause WWE did a storyline with Brock that he quit the company (storyline, not real), so it wouldn’t make sense if he showed up tonight, but ya never know. Like they all say, anything is possible in the WWE. Lesnar could do a run in interference during the Cena vs. The Miz match tonight. It’s going to be a nice time, I’m looking forward to tonight. I’m planning to buy a CM Punk t-shirt and the sleeveless Lesnar shirt if they’ll be selling them at the merchandise area. I’m sure they’ll have them for sale there. I like collecting WWE shirts. I have wrestling shirts of Cactus Jack, Undertaker, the Nexus and the Rock. Even though I don’t like the current PG rating, I just appreciate the wrestling business and the performers. I still respect what they do.

Anyway, I’m no longer using Google Chrome. It keeps freezing up my internet every time I launch it. It’s Chrome doing it. Not the hardware or anything like that. So I uninstalled Chrome and now I’m back on Firefox. Firefox don’t seem to be freezing on me at all, so I’m all good now, I think. I’ll stay on FF. Chrome is crap.
