Thought: Why should we care about celebrity divorces & separations?

Seriously, the media frenzy of celebrity divorces & separations are getting ridiculous. There’s nothing much of interest in entertainment news anymore ’cause the celebrity gossip overshadows everything. When a celebrity couple gets divorced or separated, the media will be all over it for weeks. Kim Kardashian & Chris Humphries, Hugh Hefner & Crystal Harris, Katy Perry & Russell Brand, Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher, and now Seal & Heidi Klum. Seriously, what the fuck, ya know? Why should we care about their personal lives? I certainly don’t give a fuck, do you?

My blog here is not a gossip site, leave that shit to TMZ or perezhilton. I don’t read those two sites anymore like I used to, seriously, no lie.

This site is about positive things in the entertainment business. Like movies, music, professional wrestling or fitness/sports kind of stuff. That’s the kind of stuff that I talk about here.

I’m tired of seeing all the celebrity divorces everywhere. Just wait until Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt gets separated. Oh man, imagine what the media will be like then.

If I were to write about a celebrity divorce, it would have to be worthy to post and something music related. Like Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth for example, something like that.

The reason this gossip stuff is popular and everywhere because it helps make the business a lot of money, period.

I like to talk about music and movies in this site, ’cause that what I love. I have a passion for both music and movies. I’m a big music buff and a movie buff at the same time. I don’t care for celebrity divorce stories. Never been my thing.

Still trying to improve guitar playing…

I’m not looking to become a guitar virtuoso or anything like that, I just want to improve a little on the instrument. Play a little more professionally. Trying to get better at improvisation, learning how to count rhythm in music, theory stuff, scales & modes, playing along with a metronome, etc. I just want to be accepted as a musician, so I’m doing my very best on trying to get better, so I can be considered an actual musician.

I’ve been practicing a lot more, and reading a lot more instructional stuff too. Whether I want to record music at home or play in an actual band, I need to get better. If I want to write better originals and improve my songwriting, I feel that this is what I need to do.

On mastering the art of improvisation, the trick to that is memorizing the sound of each note in your head. There are only 12 notes of music and it takes a long while to memorize the sounds in your head. I’m getting the hang of it and getting better. Once you memorize the sounds of the notes, you’ll be able to play just about everything you hear.

I would like to play in a band someday and this is another reason I’m trying to improve. Some people mistakenly think, I’m a great guitarist, but in reality, I’m okay. Not the greatest as some think I am. I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of learning.

Even if I’m unemployed and have no job as of  this moment, I’ve been spending most of the day, playing guitar, other than going to the gym.

My main goal in guitar playing is get better at lead guitar soloing so I can play like my guitar heroes that I look after. I’m trying my best to become a great guitar player, and I would like to get there.

NFL Weekend…

Yesterday, I watched both, “Saints vs. the 49’ers” game and the “Broncos vs. Patriots”. I thought the “Saints vs. the 49’ers” game was an amazing game and it’s what the Superbowl should be. “Broncos vs. Patriots” was kind of a boring game though, which is understandable ’cause the Patriots are a hard team to beat, they’re very good. I was hoping the Broncos would step up and do better, but they got destroyed by the Patriots big time.

I also plan on watching tonight’s, “Giants vs. Packers” game later this evening. I also plan on watching tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, so Sunday is TV most of the day.

Thought about hitting the gym today but I don’t feel like it, I’ll go tomorrow.

Notice, I leave my ego at the door of everything…

Whether you want to be a musician or a bodybuilder, you need to leave your ego out of things. That’s what I do, I left my ego out of everything. I never had an ego even if some mistakenly think I had an ego problem.

In bodybuilding, I never acted like I was bigger, tougher, and more muscular than others. I know there are other people that are better than me at bodybuilding and more tougher than me. I never put other people down in the fitness world and respected others fitness physiques, no matter what they looked like. If other fitness people looked different, I never made fun of them or never criticized anyone. I’ve always been respectful and positive at most everything.

In music, I’ve always respected other talent. I’ve always liked to treat music in a positive direction whether it was national music or unsigned. Didn’t matter to me. I don’t go around criticizing music saying that musicians and bands suck. I do criticize bands/musicians once in a blue moon, but I don’t do it too much like so many people do. Being a negative nancy in music, is not such a good idea, and I’ve learned from my past mistakes, admittedly. I also never acted like I was better than other musicians.

Having an ego problem isn’t healthy for your mind, ’cause bad karma will get you in the end. Maybe this is why my thoughts and opinions are sometimes controversial, ’cause I’m always positive and have a different opinion than others. That’s okay though, I love it when people start talking ’cause it’s letting me know that my honest thoughts are getting out to people.

Songwriting…

One of my newer songs that I’ve written lately, I think has the potential to be a hit. I think everyone is going to like that tune. I just can’t wait to get it out there. I’m going to take my time, and make the recording of that song good enough, then I’ll copy right it and then I’ll put it out there for the world to hear. I’m really proud of the song and I think I’m going to keep that one. While I won’t reveal the title, I can give you a hint of what the song may sound like. It’s a straight up rock song, pretty simple and it’s kind of a radio friendly song.

I’ve been messing around with Garageband on the Ipad most of the day. That’s why this blog was kind of slow today. Garageband is such a sweet program, however, I need to figure out why Camera Connection Kit is getting this “Too Much Power” error. I’m doing research on it right now.

The Ipad is really cool. I used to be against it but now I have had a change of heart with the Ipad and find it to be pretty useful and handy. I’ll mostly use it to read books or make music with. I think that’s pretty much what I wanted one for.

Right now, I’m reading Tony Iommi’s memoir, “Iron Man” on Ibooks. I just bought a few other books on Ibooks too (John Lithgow’s memoir “Drama: An Actor’s Education and 1Q84). I think I’ll shop for books on Ibooks from this point on ’cause they pretty much have everything you can get at the store, plus it’s cheaper. I’ll still collect Stephen King books on Hardcover though but everything else, I’ll read digitally.

I haven’t been reviewing books lately on this site because I have that “Top 10 Books of 2011” list coming soon. Just pretty bored today, so I thought I’d write about random stuff here.

Ipad accessories…

So I went to Best Buy today and picked up a few accessories for the Ipad. I picked up the I-rig and the Camera Connection Kit so I can plug in my guitar and mic into the Ipad, so I can start recording in Garageband. They both worked perfectly fine. They actually sounded pretty good too. Only thing though, I can’t record guitar and sing the vocals at the same time ’cause the Ipad won’t accept both at the same time, too much power. So I’m going to have to record guitar and vocals separately on the thing.

I did end up seeing  a movie at the mall today too. I just saw the movie, “War Horse”, which is the new Steven Spielberg movie. I’ll write a review of that later on tonight.

Btw, I deleted that Randy Blythe president post because, maybe I was wrong on a few little things. I do appreciate people correcting me on things with a good attitude instead of being a bully about it, though. I’m not really all that big on politics as it may seem.

Edit to add: Yes, with those two instructional Garageband videos I posted before, I actually took that guy’s advice and it actually worked. After I record the song in Garageband, I’m sure there is a way to convert them to MP3 to get them on this computer. I’ll figure all this stuff out.

I don’t look up my name in google too much anymore…

The google search engine can be a great and useful tool, when you really need to look up something, but the tool can also be sometimes a little embarrassing and frightening. Why? If you type your name in google, you just never know what may come up. I used to google my name up everyday, but I don’t do that too much anymore. Why would I want to see a bunch of titles in other blogs, forums, and youtube videos in google that are pretty much bashing me as a person. Using my full name and all.

I’m fine with people calling me out and ranting about what I post in my blog, but really, people should leave my name out of it.

Usually, when I rant about people publicly, I leave their name out of things, just so that the post won’t show up in google and I won’t get a legal threat by this person.

Other people think they can use my name whenever they feel like, the same goes for twitter and youtube. Well, it’s not alright to be honest with ya. When they use my name, that’s why I do my very best to report those pages to get them shut down and off the net.

This is another reason why I’m planning to trademark my staged name, Kev Brock, so people would quit using my name.

I’ve been mostly a positive person all year, and prefer to stay that way throughout 2012. If a negative person is what some of you want to be, go for it. If you want to revolve your life on talking trash about the same person for a long time, then you got some serious mental issues. I don’t deal with negative stuff anymore ’cause I got better things to worry about and better things to do.

Have a safe and happy new year…

To all blog readers, have a happy safe and happy new year tonight. If you’re out partying, drink responsibly. Don’t drink and drive, don’t ride in a car with someone who is drunk.

I’m not a party animal like I used to be. Yes, I was a pretty hard partier when I was younger, and I had enough of that shit. Partying is pretty stupid and boring, in my opinion. I like to enjoy myself and have fun in good & positive ways.

I don’t like making new year’s resolutions, but if I had to pick a few that are fitness related. I hope to get better with nutrition and get even more strict with my meals. I also hope to keep working out throughout the year nonstop and become even more muscular. I want to concentrate on trying to improve the pecs.

I also hope to get a job ’cause I plan to start job hunting in Jan. It’s going to be a long time for me to find work since the economics are still shit, but I’ll find work somehow.

Yes, I’m still single, and I hope to get hooked up with a special woman this time around. I’m getting older and need a nice girlfriend at some point. I’ll try to get to work on that as soon as possible. I’m just waiting for the right woman to come along. I say this every year, but I think I’m definitely going to do something about it, this time. She doesn’t have to be hot and she doesn’t have to be a musician, just trying to find somebody that will understand me and respect who I am. I’ll find a woman locally around here ’cause I’m not into this long distance relationship thing. I’m hoping I’ll actually get lucky this year.

Have a good one tonight, and be safe.

Cool Video: These instructional videos shows you how to hook up guitar & mic into Ipad…

To hook up my guitar & microphone into my Ipad, I’m going to need a camera connection kit and an I-Rig cable. So next time I go to Best Buy, I’ll look into those. They would have Ipad accessories, I believe.

Before, I start making real music on GarageBand, I need to get hooked up and learn how to use the software better.

It maybe possible, that I may finally get to make a full band demo after all. GarageBand is the shit.
