Thought: Thinking about bringing the myspace back…

I have been thinking lately that I’m thinking about bringing my official myspace music account back. But if I do though, it’s not gonna be runned by me. I will be choosing a few trusting people to run it for me if they are willing. To post my songs, promote my gigs, etc.

There are plenty of bands/solo artists pages in myspace that are not being runned by the actual artist, some bands/artists pages are being runned by loyal fans, managers, street team, etc. So I figure why not do the same thing?

Myspace is just too hectic for me when I should be spending the time on the music. It’s a waste of time to spend hours and hours on the computer to promote your music online. I don’t see how bands/artists can do it when they should be working on their own music. This is why some bands have other people promote their stuff online ’cause the band rather spend the time on music and performing shows.

I’ll be thinking about this idea.

  1. This isn’t a send in an application type of thing, I will be asking around people that I know well and can trust to run my myspace like some of my closest friends and family members as an example, that’s what I meant. Sorry if my post came to a misunderstanding.

  2. what happened to the numbered lists of everything that was wrong with myspace and how people who have one have no lives?

  3. Everything I’ve said about myspace in the past, I still stand by 100%.

I never said that anybody who had an account had no lives, if you want to join myspace fine. I don’t like the musicians part of myspace. The music part of it. There are crazy and stupid people in myspace, that’s a fact, but not everyone is like that in that site.

I know I have fans in myspace that miss my music page which is why I’m thinking about bringing it back being runned by different people, not me. I’ve had loyal fans questioning me about why I left the site.

  4. Oh yeah, and one more thing I wanted to add. The more people keep giving me requests about my myspace music account, the more I’ll consider in bringing it back. If no one cares about me not being there, then I won’t bother. That’s the deal.

But if fans want to go ahead and make their own “Brock n’ roll” fan page, they can feel free to do that too.

  5. From the Blog Entry posted on April 20th entitled “Feeling much happier and better without Myspace”, I quote the following:

“The truth is unsigned bands/artists who have their myspaces are people with no lives.”

    Care to rephrase that denial?

    Sure can, Tracy.

What I mean by that quote is unsigned artists/bands who have their myspace are people with too much time on their hands when they should be concentrating on their own music.

This is why the famous national bands in myspace have other people run their accounts (like managers, reps, street teams, etc.) because they are too busy with their own music.

A lot of bands in myspace claim they work hard on their music when many of them spend time a lot of time on the computer promoting their shit.

I learned that if you want to take your music career seriously, you can’t always think that the computer is gonna make your music career successful. You have to do more than just a computer. Bands are too lazy to do more work than just the computer. It’s seems that the computer is all bands think about when it comes to the music.

If bands will get off their asses away from the computer more, they may make something with their music. Not everyone in the music industry uses a computer and if you want people to get their attention to your music, you must do more. Call me a hypocrite if you want but I speak the truth.

I’ll have a blog topic about this one soon, thanks for inspiring me.
