So I’m back to writing songs again. Time to write a new batch of songs again for the year 2009. I want to play different songs at my shows next time around.
Wrote a new original song titled “True to You”, and am quite of proud of it. I gave it a country rock feel. Lyrics coming in the video soon. This songs a short one, it’s not one of them 7-10 minute ones.
Enjoy.

Maybe because it’s country rock and has a real honky tonk groove to it, but this new one reminds me a lot of the late Gram Parsons.
True story. Parsons had the most brilliant rock and roll death ever: his friends stole his corpse from the funeral home and drove him cross country to Joshua Tree and they had a bonfire to send him off. They didn’t want his step father to bury him because Gram never liked his step father, and they knew Gram would get a kick out of one last rock and roll adventure. Of course Parsons did lots of drugs and that’s why he died, I just hope Kev Brock doesn’t follow his example! 😉 With the drugs I mean, because I think it’s cool that you’re starting to sound like him musically.

Gram Parsons is a nice comparison, I like his music. I wasn’t going for a Gram Parsons homage.
I was actually going for a homage to classic country with the likes of Johnny Cash, Clint Black, Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, George Strait, etc. I was rooting for the good country rock back in those days.
Not the shitty mainstream pop country in today’s country music. Today’s country music sucks so much ass. I hate the Rascal Flatts, I hate Toby Keith, and I hate Tim McGraw. I miss old country music badily.
