Willie Nelson broke the news on his official website that the Boxmasters have cancelled the rest of their Canadian tour after the band getting booed at a concert in Toronto. Willie Nelson’s website doesn’t even know the reason the Boxmasters cancelled the tour, but Willie will continue the tour without Billy Bob’s band.

I listen and watch and pay attention to other people when they take the time to express themselves, because there is always something to learn, especially during a performance.
there was no talk about acting, merely a mention in the intro… 6 in the morning? maybe on your homeword Mr. Thornton… music historian? and he feels he should be treated as though he were Mr. Tom Petty… just talk about the music? ok, sure, just tell us when your ready for your closeup Mr. DeVille!
…. so focused on himself, he did not even realize he was thankfully and cleverly dismissed by the host just before the actual band began to play. Mr. Thornton actually moved to another seat when the band got up to play and sat down as if he were still welcome in the room….. The host had the grace to signal Mr. Thornton’s most welcomed departure by expressing thanks and offering an expression of good fortune.
What I did manage to learn is the details get missed when a person makes that big a mess.
Dear Mr. Thorton, you leave no room for an audience, you waste your own time, and worse, you refuse to understand that no matter where you go, there you are…, until you run away that is.

You need to be careful what you say about Canadians, though. No matter what, they always know when you’re talking about them. If one of them wants to fight you, and they always seem to want to fight, never punch him in the head because they have thick skulls and you’re only going to hurt your fist. Your best bet is to avoid them by not going to the places they go. If you ever find yourself lost on Pierre Trudeau Blvd, you know there is trouble going down.

Billy Bob Thornton butchered his face with cosmetic surgery, botox, hair implants, collagen, etc. leaving him looking like a gargoyle in heavy pancake makeup. He looked good the way he was. Now he’s butchering his reputation (what’s left of it) by insulting his money-paying audience. What’s wrong with just apologizing for acting like a total asshole in Canada instead of slinking out like a cheesy coward, laying the blame on the Boxmaster guitarist and the crew. So he got booed by the crowd… He should learn to take as good as he gives. No excuse for his ugly, ignorant behavior, and Willie Nelson has the class to see that I’m sure. Americans have a bad enough name around the world, we don’t need one more obnoxious ambassador like B.B.T. perpetuating that.
The maturity level of these comments really astounds me. This has nothing, what so ever to do with Canadians hating Americans, or vice a versa. It has to do with ONE man that was acting like a child on a radio station.
The interviewer was not simply talking about Billy’s movie career…as a matter of fact, he briefly mentioned his acting/writing in the begining for context, just as the man stated. After the initial introductions were made, the deejay went straight into questions about MUSIC.
Also….people are not going to dislike a band/musician because they are from America, that has nothing to do with anything, it’s whether or not people enjoy the music….they will dislike someone if they act like a dick head…yes, which a lot would argue that Billy bob was in fact acting like a dick head.
Some people on this message board really, truly need to wake up and realize that we are all humans, the only differences are what you create in your own mind, our worldly problems are never going to be solved, so long as we continue to act like immature fools, focusing on the unimportant (nationality etc…) it sometimes sickens me to be a human.

It’s not just Canadians that hate Americans. The whole world hates Americans. Don’t take my word for it. Ask around. Why give us all the credit? And if The Boxmasters are as great as you claim why are their album sales so weak?

Well if stupid Canadians are going to come on this blog, expressing hatred against Americans, I have the right to hate them back. Canadians are offended at Billy Bob’s behavior over some stupid interview. Boo hoo. I find that Billy Bob didn’t do anything wrong at all, I don’t take what he did seriously. Billy Bob has a dry sense of humor that people doesn’t understand about him. He’s always been like that.
Fuck all Canadians, fuck ’em. If they are going to come on this blog and write negative things about America, which is I am an American and a country that I love, I have the right to attack them back. Richie, as I said plenty of times, Billy Bob always been like this, he has always had this weird and dry sense of humor that the public doesn’t understand. He’s been like this ever since he’s been couples with Angelina Jolie back in the days.

If I was in a radio interview and the DJ wasn’t going to be talking about my music, I would have been pissed at him too. A perfect example of this, CRUMBS Cafe radio interview wants me in to talk about my blog on the air, but I don’t think I’m going to go for it ’cause I would rather be accepted as a musician, not a blogger. Call me a dickhead for that?
Fine that’s the way I am. Billy Bob was being an honest man in the QTV interview, I don’t take what he did personally. I find it hilarious.

Just because a band doesn’t sell a lot of records, doesn’t mean they suck. I know plenty of great bands and artists that are not well known.

If the man was not high, and if he doesn’t have Early Onset Dimentia, then I have nothing but disrespect for him. It was not his *mashed potatoes no gravy * comment that upset us,because we are a very soft gentle country, respected world-wide. What upset most Canadians is the total disrespect he showed towards Jian. We are not like that, we don’t teach our children to behave that way and we are not of that ilk, so his treatment of Jian( a Canadian fav I must ad ) riled us classy and loved everywhere….Canadians!!!
On top of that, the Billy Bob interview on QTV was clearly staged and acted. Can’t you tell by Billy Bob and the interviewer by the timing? Like I said, Billy Bob creating controversy with his band in the news is making them become more successful. Gotta understand Billy’s sense of humor. If you don’t then you aren’t very smart than I thought.

I am a grandmother…lived many places in the world…visited many as well. I don’t hate anyone. I love humor, miusic, etc. LOve Jon Stewart and Collbert…love Mike Myers too. Love Willie..LOve Blue rodeo too. Don’t care where they come from.
But Billy Bob Thornton was out of line. Period. He was cranky before he even started his interview. And he made it about nationality. When you are in someone else’s house, you mind your P’s and Q’s no matter who you think you are. That’s pretty simple. And it is usually what is expected by any decent human being anywhere in the world. And this old lady is too old a cat to be scratched by a kitten
The QTV incident was nothing more than PR. Thorton is a celebrity who knows how to draw upon peoples emotions because he can “act”. Good or bad, this incident made the group better known in Canada than before. The only point left is that all this did nothing to change the fact that the “boxmasters” are about as talented as any ordinary bar band.
