Another Golden Girl is dead, first Estelle Getty, and now Bea Arthur. Bea Arthur, another TV legend. Such a tragedy. There’s only two left, Rue McClanahan and Betty White are the only surviving cast of the legendary sitcom, “The Golden Girls” which I used to watch all the time. RIP Bea.

Hey, this was a tragic story of someone who fought stereotypes and brought justice to tall, transgendered ladies everywhere. Would there have been a Susan Boyle if there wasn’t a Dorothy Zbornak? No way. My friends Mark Harris, Waylon, Timothy, Christopher and Richard never miss The Golden Girls. It is on three times a day and after a good night at the bar we come home to watch it together over a nice Zima.
If I may (and your readers would be so kind to indulge me) I would like to leave you by singing a song in Bea Arthur’s honor:
Lady Godiva was a freedom rider
She didnt’ care if the whole world looked.
Joan of Arc with the Lord to guide her
She was a sister who really cooked.
Isadora was the first bra burner
And you’re glad she showed up. (Oh yeah)
And when the country was falling apart
Betsy Ross got it all sewed up.
And then there’s Maude.
And then there’s Maude.
And then there’s Maude.
And then there’s Maude.
And then there’s Maude.
And then there’s Maude.
And then there’s
That old compromisin’, enterprisin’, anything but tranquilizing,
Right on Maude.
RIGHT ON, BEA, INDEED! And Archie Bunker and her 1st husband Walter Findlay (from MAUDE) and 2nd husband “it’s me Stan” (from The Golden Girls) can all piss right off! I hope they’re happy with themselves.
Golden Girls forever!! WOOT!
