A lot of you know that my taste in music is strictly anything rock n’ roll. Be it, metal, punk, prog, and classic rock are my main taste in music (that’s the kind of stuff you would see in my CD collection and my Ipod at home). Anything with a lot of guitar playing is my type of music. What about other things that I listen to that maybe guilty pleasures? Stuff that you may find weird that you don’t see me listening to and actually enjoying them? Everybody have guilty pleasures. I do too. Quite several of them and here they are:
Eminem – I love the guy’s music. Always had. I want to get his new album “Recovery” soon.
Bjork – Always been a huge admirer of the Icelandic singer. Absolutely love her!
Rihanna – I’m not afraid to admit that I like Rihanna. She’s almost like a rock n’ roll artist.
M.I.A. – It’s always very hard to describe the genre of music of M.I.A. The singer that does the hit, “Paper Planes” sampled from the Clash song “Straight to Hell”. I can’t wait for her new album. M.I.A. is the shit. She’s awesome!
K.D. Lang – This may sound weird but yes, I dig K.D. Lang. She’s an amazing artist and a phenomenal singer. Probably one of the best female vocalists out there right now. No one can sing better than her, ever.
Lady Gaga – Another mainstream pop artist but this is one that actually has the talent. Can she fill in Madonna and Michael Jackson’s fame? Yes, definitely.
Justin Bieber – I’ve said it several times in this blog that Bieber’s music is actually not too bad. I like his songs but not sure if I will ever buy his music. Probably not. Although I would buy that one song “Baby” for my Ipod, just that one tune now. This kid’s got more talent than Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers for sure!
Clint Black – A country artist but he’s one of the good ones. Always dug the man’s music. Have several of his albums in my CD collection. I think he’s better than most male country artists out there. Garth Brooks sucks. Tim McGraw sucks. Toby Keith sucks. Clint is great! I would see Clint live too!
“Weird” Al Yankovic – Loved him ever since I was a kid, still do. People think it’s weird that I listen to Weird Al but don’t care. Weird Al is not just a genius at parodies. He’s also a musical genius and a phenomenal musician over all. He doesn’t have the greatest singing voice but you gotta respect him for keeping it real and doing all the long tours he does every year, and stuff. He’s a very hard working musician.
Herbie Hancock – A talented jazz artist that I find myself listening to. His music is really good stuff to relax to.
Enjoy.
