Some people mistakenly think that I am a fun & outgoing guy. That I like to go out and do things, have fun like so many people seem to do these days. Not really. My life off the computer is actually very boring. Why? Because pretty much the only thing I do is music. Whether I’m playing an instrument or listening to music, I’m good. That’s my life, right there, people.
I’ve been a music lover for years. Ever since I was a kid. It’s been my lifelong passion forever. When I was a kid, way before I started playing guitar, all I ever did was listen to albums. Most people would just buy an album and only listen to hit songs from the radio. Not me. That’s not how I listened to music. I’ve always listened to a full album, all the way through, from beginning to the end. I listened to music that way as a kid too and still listen to music that way. I don’t select certain songs that I like the best of an albums and listen to only stuff I liked. I listen to a whole album like a piece of art. As soon as I put an album on, it stays playing until it’s over.
I would listen to every detail of the album. Try to listen to everything going on. All the instruments and vocals, sound production, etc. Everything.
Of course, I do have other hobbies & interests, like movies, video games, and fitness. I just do those things to get away from music for a little while ’cause you have to get away from it at some point.
This is how big music means to me. It’s all I pretty much want to do in life. Music has helped me in so many ways. That’s how powerful music can be to a human being. I love playing my own music and love listening to other talent.
I could get a better life outside of music and I’m trying, but then again, music is all I want to do. If negative things happen in my life or things don’t happen the way I was hoping for, that’s alright. Music is what keeps me a happy person. I play guitar every single day for a few hours and I’m always buying albums from other artists all the time. I take music very seriously.
Looking forward to Wednesdays gig at Savannah’s with Ralph Renna’s Capital Underground show. I’ll be videotaping my performance that night, so you won’t miss anything.
