“It’s amazing how people can talk about me but I’m not allowed to talk about them.” – Donald Trump
That’s his response to Cher, his new feud that he’s on right now.
I totally agree with him ’cause I’m in the same boat. It is messed up on how that is. People think they can talk shit about me all they want to, but when I do it to others, it makes me the badguy.
So wrong, and it shows that the 1st Amendment has been in danger for years.
Kev
I disagree. People say what they say about Donald Trump in response or reaction to his public statements. When you step over the line with public statements, you can’t whine about what people say about you in return, and hide behind the 1st amendment. The 1st amendment is not absolute and it can be abused, like Trump has done in order to remain relevent in the media. He’s an attention whore. Still want to compare yourself to him?
Freedom of Speech works both ways. Whether you love him or hate him, disagree with his thoughts or not, he has the right to say whatever he wants. He can have his opinions on politics just like we all do. Nothing wrong with that.
Kev
Can you elaborate on how freedom of speech works both ways? Everyone has freedom of speech. BUT if you’re the spokesperson of a business then you don’t have the luxury of freedom of speech. He can’t be arrested for what he says but he can be fired for misrepresenting the business. There is a difference.
I thought I already explained how Freedom of speech works both ways? If everyone gets to talk shit about Romney, Santorum, Palin, and other most hated politicians, that means we can talk shit about Barack too, right? Fair is fair.
Everyone has freedom of speech. BUT if you’re the spokesperson of a business then you don’t have the luxury of freedom of speech. He can’t be arrested for what he says but he can be fired for misrepresenting the business. There is a difference.
He never misrepresented the business. Trump was speaking the truth about Obama and being honest about him. That had nothing to do with Macy’s. Macy’s won’t do anything to them as long as it doesn’t have anything to do with Macy’s themselves. On top of all this, even Macy’s would know that he has the right to have an opinion on the Elections just like we all do. This petition that Cher started is silly. It’ll get no where. Macy’s would laugh at it and throw it in the garbage.
What people don’t seem to understand about Trump, is that he wants to be looked at as an ego-driven rich guy of an asshole. That’s who he is. He’s been the same guy for years. Being the rich guy asshole is what made him popular and mainstream to begin with. His attitude is what made him an icon. That is part of why Macy’s decided to work with him ’cause he is pretty popular and can help make the company, a lot of money.
He can’t be fired from NBC or other places that he works for.
On top of this, do you honestly think he’s gonna get fired? HA!!!! He’ll bribe them a lot of money, just to stay on the job. And another thing, Trump hired Macy’s to sell his clothesline, so they can’t fire him unless he wants out. Cher is just a jealous loser wasting her time. She’s always been a bitch for years anyway. I can’t stand that woman.
Kev
Your take on freedom of speech is warped. It’s not about people being able to trash talk one another, it’s about being able to say what you want without the government arresting you for it. Trump CAN be fired from places he’s a spokesman for. They sign a contract that lets the employer do that if the spokesman ever goes nuts like deciding to lead the birther movement.
To be quite honest, Trump never really said anything hateful or threatening to Obama. He just gave his opinions and honesty toward Obama’s job as president. Since after the election, Trump has been pretty quiet about Obama, anyway. It was Trump’s way of making people get turned off by Obama, so they can vote for Romney instead. He was just helping Romney’s campaign. Trump never did anything wrong really.
He could be fired, sure, but they’re not gonna dump Trump over the things he says on the internet or in the media. Businesses are not that stupid.
Kev
Oh yes they will. If there’s any indication his outspoken idiocy will hurt businesses, they’ll kick him to the proverbial curb.
If you really believe in that stupid petition started by Cher, then I don’t know what to say. They’re not gonna dump him because Cher wants them to. As long as Donald’s clothing products are still selling well with them which I’m sure they are, they’ll keep him.
Kev
On top of this, I never took what Donald says seriously. He’s not that bad of a guy. People only think he’s bad ’cause he’s rich and famous, but in reality, he’s a good man.
