“A True Movie Buff”

I love to watch movies — not only because
they’re entertaining — I watch movies
’cause they help me get through life.

There are so many people who
call themselves movie buffs but
they aren’t really.

How?

They only concentrate on watching movies
that are promoted in the mainstream.
They may know who the actors are but
they don’t know the directors, producers,
and writers.
They also stick with watching popular movies
but they ignore the classics, independent films,
and B-movies.

I learned that if you want to be a
true movie buff… you have to watch
all genres. Know who the actors, directors,
producers, and writers are. Know the story
of the film. Watch all of the important
classics.

If you haven’t watched anything by Marilyn Monroe,
Audrey Hepburn or Jimmy Stewart, then you aren’t a
true movie buff.
If you haven’t watched, “Exit Through the Gift Shop”,
“Citizen Kane”, or “The West Side Story”, then you
aren’t a true movie buff.

If you haven’t seen anything by John Carpenter, Sylvester
Stallone or Bruce Campbell then you aren’t a true
movie buff.

If you haven’t seen the Godfather movies,
all of the Star Trek films or the Rocky series then
you aren’t a true movie buff.

Here is some kind advice…
see as many movies as possible
read about movies
and learn everything as much as possible about them
If you can do all this, then maybe
you can be called a true movie buff.
