Kim Jong-Un had no reason to sentence his own Uncle to death. Kim Jong-Un is all about corruption, power and control much like President Obama except Kim Jong-Un is ten times worse. I did a little research on Capital Punishment in North Korea. Their death penalty are done by a firing squad. A thing where they publicly kill by guns and not by lethal injection. Each country in the world has their own way of death penalty. Did Kim Jong-Un sentence his own Uncle by firing squad? Nope, instead he feeds his Uncle to a 120 starving dogs.
More on the story, here.
President Obama would have no problem with this, though. Obama is probably smiling and worshiping Kim Jong-Un like he’s his hero. If we had a republican president in the White House, then Kim John-Un’s Uncle would have been freed before this even happened.
Kev
Wait – you think if there was a republican president in the white house, they would have ordered someone to go INTO North Korea and rescue this guy?
No, that’s not what I meant. If there was a republican President, then he would have done his job to get him out like get together with Kim Jong-Un for negotiations and stuff like that. Whether or not his uncle was eaten by dogs was true, it’s still wrong for him to execute his own Uncle either way. I don’t know much about Jang Song-thaek but even if he was a treasonous guy, he didn’t deserve execution right away. This is just Kim Jong-Un’s way of rising to power and more control. He’s a corrupt leader. Kim Jong-Un and Obama — both the same.
Kev
Oh, gotcha. Was gonna say – no matter who is President, no one is venturing into North Korea. That place is crazy!
Just to be sure the USA negotiated with North Korea many many times before. It’s nothing new. Bill Clinton negotiated with N. Korea to release American journalists that were held captive by them.

Kev
With that being said, Barack Obama can negotiate with N. Korea anytime he wants. He’s just being a coward and lazy. That is all.
Kev
That is an entirely different situation. No US President will get involved in NK’s internal military affairs.
That’s just an opinion, and you’re entitled to it. President’s can negotiate with any country. It’s just that George W. Bush and President Obama refused to. They really need to negotiate with N. Korea especially if they keep sending us nuclear threats and all that stuff. They can do it. They just don’t fucking want to.
Kev
The journalists were American. I’d expect us to do everything we can to rescue Americans held in a hostile nation. But internal executions are another matter. We *could* negotiate, but it wouldn’t get very far, and North Korea isn’t the only one executing their own people. It’s sad the guy was killed, but it wasn’t really something we should involve ourselves in. Otherwise, where does it stop?
Our government negotiated with terrorists such as Al-qaeda (Sp?) and Muslim Brotherhood who are not even Americans. If they can negotiate with them then I’m sure they can negotiate with N. Korea.
Kev
You do know that’s a bullshit story right, that he didn’t rally feed his uncle to dogs.
Utah has used the firing squad for executions. Gary Gilmore in 1977, John Albert Taylor in 1996 and Ronnie Lee Gardner in 2010. Not sure about any other states.
“Utah has used the firing squad for executions. Gary Gilmore in 1977, John Albert Taylor in 1996 and Ronnie Lee Gardner in 2010. Not sure about any other states”
You’re right about that but from what I just read… Utah was the only state in the US that used firing squad but that doesn’t make it legal for them. Firing squad was banned in Utah in the year 2004, look it up.
Kev
It was legal at the time they used it. And Yes, they did ban it in 204, but anyone that was sentenced and chose the firing squad can still be executed i that manner. That’s how Gardner’s execution by firing squad was allowed to take place. And they have one more inmate who also chose the firing squad before the ban.
I’ve read that in most states executions are mostly done by lethal injection. The firing squad is only an option in some states if they find that lethal injection is unconstitutional. Idaho had it but they banned the firing squad in 2009. Oklahoma is the only state left that uses it. So technically, it is illegal all over. I think you just make things up as you go along so you can win debates which you do a lousy job at.
Kev
You can’t be serious.
Look up any of those names I gave you. Especially Gardner, and the circumstances surrounding his execution. He sued, or almost had to sue, Utah to carry out the execution, as they had banned firing squads after he was sentenced but before he was executed.
Nevada also had firing squads at some point, and Florida’s gov or senator( forget which) sponsored a bill to make firing squads an option.
And as far as I know, there are no states currently with firing squad as an option. I believe it’s been in all 50. Arizona uses a gas chamber as well as lethal injection.
Not only is it not legal “all over”, not all states even have the death penalty. And to take it further, the US is the only modern, western country to even allow the death penalty at all
