Oh hell no!!! I think I’m gonna avoid this one, “Son of God” movie that is produced by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey… same makers for “The Bible” TV minis series which I also didn’t watch. I would avoid anything that have to do with Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. I don’ t appreciate how they’re trying to promote religion in the mainstream, ya know? I’m pretty sure their work is very inaccurate about the Bible and Jesus’s life anyway.
If you wanna watch great movies about Jesus, there are other great films that I’m sure a lot of people today don’t even know about most notably a powerful film like Mel Gibson’s “The Passion”. That is probably the best movie about Jesus, right there. Also “The Last Temptation of Christ” starring Willem Dafoe and directed by Martin Scorsese is another great film about Jesus’s crucifixion. There is also other classics such as: “King of Kings”, “The Greatest Story Ever Told”, there is also, “Mary, Mother of Jesus” w/ Christian Bale and what about, “The Jesus of Nazareth”? What about the rock opera musical, “Jesus Christ Superstar”?
I know a lot of people are excited about “Son of God”, but there are other films on Jesus as I explained above.
Even though this film isn’t about Jesus at all, you should also check out the important classic, “The Ten Commandments”, that tells the story about Moses. The Cecil B. Demille classic.
I’m not a religious person by any means but like most people I find the Jesus story interesting myself.
Forget, “Son of God”. It’ll probably suck anyway and I won’t even see it when it comes out on DVD as well.

I don’t quite understand. You don’t want to watch “Son of God” because it is inaccurate (you assume, as you haven’t seen it and don’t strike me as a Bible expert) and that the creators are promoting religion to the mainstream.
“The Last Temptation of Christ” is hardly accurate Biblically. Same with “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Ask most Christians, especially evangelicals. They find those films outright blasphemous. “The Passion of the Christ” was heavily promoted by Gibson and various church groups with the goal of getting everyone to see it. Basically proselytizing. They were taking religion mainstream.
I just refuse to see anything that have to do with Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. Can’t stand ’em.
Kev
What else did they do that you didn’t like? Legit question.
I just don’t like how they’re heavily promoting religion and shoving it down people’s throats. I’m not a big fan of religion so I guess you can say that I’m somewhat an atheist a little bit.
Kev
Yeah, but that’s precisely what Mel Gibson does.
Not as much as Burnett/Downey, though.
Kev
Closing this shit ’cause I had a feeling that this was gonna head into a dumb religion debate. Yep, usually the topics on the internet that get people going the most are politics and religion. Fuck everyone, seriously.
