Just found this one. Kind of interesting in my personal evolution and my dogs… This is me and my Amazing Canine , BUTKUS , in New York City,Several years before Rocky was even a thought in my head,Totally broke and obviously poorly dressed and quite hungry, doing our daily business in the "Street" … Even though I've been very successful and blessed, I kind of still miss those cool morning walks with my four-legged friend! We literally spent 24 hours a day together , inseparable, Best of friends you might say, I loved him, And fortunately I'll never find a dog like him again..#Rocky #The Big Apple #Bullmastiff
I absolutely love pictures like this. When I was 26, totally broke, going nowhere VERY fast, owned two pair of pants that barely fit, shoes that had holes in them and dreams of being successful were as far away as the sun… But I had my dog, BUTKUS, my best friend, my confidant, Who always laughed at my jokes, and put up with my moods, and was the one living thing that loved me for who I was! #man's best friend#BullMastiff #Loyalty #NewYorkCity#AmericanDreams
1971… Since we're on the subject of " man's best friend" this is myself and Butkus as a puppy , we were both , thin , hungry and living in a flophouse above a subway stop, I used to say this apartment had " … Hot and cold running roaches" anyway there was not much to do except spend time with each other and that's where I started to learn the craft of screenwriting. Since I never went out, I relied on his companionship , And actually it was his idea to write Rocky, but don't tell anyone…. Years later when things got even worse I had to sell him for $40 in front of a 7-Eleven store, because I couldn't afford food, then like A modern day miracle, the screenplay for Rocky sold, and I could buy and buy him back, but the new owner knew I was desperate, and charged me $15,000 … He was worth every penny! #New York City #HellsKitchen #BullMastiff #It'sADogsWorld. #MoreToCome#inspiration #ThunderingYourHeart #GoingThedistance
I hate most famous celebs except for a few of them. I still respect a few celebs even though Hollywood has gone down the drain lately. Sylvester Stallone is still one of those movie stars that I respect. I still like the guy a lot today and still pretty loyal to him.
Most celebs and movie stars didn’t do anything to earn their fame and fortune. They just get that stuff out of pure luck or has just been spoiled. Not with Sly, though. Sly Stallone worked his ass off for the fame and fortune that he got. Sly went from being homeless & broke to being a huge movie star & becoming rich. You want proof that Sly worked his ass off to get there? Check out the photos above.
That tells ya something, right?
Look at those three photos above. Back then Sly was real skinny before he had the big and muscular bodybuilder physique that he’s known for.
I respect Sly so much ’cause he’s real. He’s not a fraud like most movie stars. The guy really works hard in the film industry. Proof of that is that during the time when Sly’s career was in a slump like during the 90’s and early 2000’s years, he brought himself back to the top again once he brought back Rocky and Rambo to the big screen for another round. Then “The Expendables” came out. Sly is now back to being a hit movie maker again. This guy went through blood, sweat and tears.
Does Sly deserve all that money he has? Yes, absolutely! From going to a homeless guy to a millionaire is undeniably impressive. Yeah, one of Sly’s first movies was a porn, “The Party at Kitty & Studs” but he just did it for the money and did it to get him into the movie industry.
Sly’s a true legend in the film industry, admit it right? I hope he gives us one last Rambo flick.
