Thoughts about the Jammy’s last night…

1455945_550997594992749_891330401_n

I didn’t go to the Jammy’s at Trickshots at Clifton Park last night… of course, I didn’t. Why didn’t I go??? Well, come to think of it… going to a show where I’ll get forced to watch people do a lot of ass-kissing and jerking off is not my idea of a good time. That’s exactly what went on last night. Too much ass-kissing and jerking off.

I stumbled across some photos of the event of someone’s facebook page and like I expected… the show turned out absolutely ridiculous. The show went on as planned and it followed the programming schedule that I posted the other day. Yes, the show gave out “real” trophies I saw. There were local musicians there pretending to be celebrities and playing dress-up. Dressing up like celebs at the Grammy’s, ya know? I’ve seen some people wearing fancy clothing and a few guys even wore tuxedos!!!!!!! (LOL!)

Then I went to the Tier One Talent facebook page and seen that some guy already posted negative feedback of the show… he complained why his favorite band didn’t get the win ’cause some other tribute band got the win for that award even if that band wasn’t on the ballot… the guy said…

“Gotta tell ya that’s the worst awards show hope its better next year how can Kisstory Tribute get beat out by a band that wasnt on the ballot any answers to this if so please speak up also not only was that band not on the ballot i never heard ot saw them play around here but kisstory you guys kick ass”

My response to that comment, why bother with the show next year if you didn’t like this year?

I knew this TierOneTalent guy was gonna pull something shady during the show and there it is in the italics above.

Winners are going off about how they’re excited that they took awards home and their supporters are showing the winners support, of course.

You see… a lot of people around here just live under the delusion of treating local music, “positively”. They treat everything, “positively”. They don’t wanna look at things with reality and honesty. People are ridiculous, in my opinion. I treat local music “positively” too, don’t get me wrong. I love local music and support a lot of talent around here. We have talented bands and musicians around here for sure but I’m not gonna treat everything “positively”. I like being realistic about stuff, ya know? The reason I’m honest and brutal about local music is because…. I don’t wanna come off as pretentious and “fake” which a lot of people seem to be around here.

The award show last night really proved that musicians can be really ego-driven people… they’re crazy.

The sad thing is that people in the scene just doesn’t realize that the award show last night was all about “conflict of interest”. Just this TierOneTalent guy trying his best to promote his fake company by exploiting talent in this area.

TierOneTalent didn’t post the winner results yet and as soon as he gets them up, I’ll post it here asap.

Some of you may ask, why am I obsessed with bashing this thing? Well, for the most part it’s fun. Plus, I’m trying to give a reality check to people that they shouldn’t support events hosted by TierOneTalent. I understand how this area wants to treat local music positively — all cool and good — but they must watch who they trust around here.

“The Jammy’s” program schedule released… and it’s just laughable…

The program schedule for “The Jammy Awards” at Trickshots tomorrow night has been released. It’s pretty much a joke, too.

Check it out, here.

As you can see they got the show to start at 9:00 p.m. and it’ll go all the way to like 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. Most of the bands scheduled to perform gets 10 minute sets each and the last 3 bands gets longer sets ’cause they are supposed to be the “big headliners”, lol. I haven’t heard most of the bands scheduled to perform this thing except the only bands I know about are Probing Digit, Margo Macero, and Skeletons In the Piano. I don’t really like Probing Digit but I am fans of Margo Macero and Skeletons In the Piano, though. Margo Macero and Skeletons In the Piano are two very talented acts who should have stayed far away from this garbage event. They are better than this.

The times and scheduling aren’t definite as this guy warns you they are approximate and scheduled to change. That raises up another red flag. Does that tell you something that he’s not making any promises that he’ll be professional about the scheduling?

I’m warning you all that this guy isn’t gonna do shit tomorrow night. The scheduling of times will be a mess and the show will be a disaster. Those who are planning to go and the bands committed to perform this thing are just wasting your time and money. I’m worried that a lot of these bands won’t get to play ’cause of difficulties with the scheduling and the organizers unprofessionally running the show. Trust me, these people are gonna go to this thing and walk out disappointed.

I’m sure this show will have a large crowd for a little bit but they’ll leave ’cause they won’t stay there ’til 2:00 in the morning. The only people who will stay there that late are the usual drunks who hang out at Trickshots.

I’m gonna feel bad for a few of the bands who won’t get to play ’cause it’ll be a waste of trip and gas money for them. This show will be a trainwreck and an absolute disaster. I’m looking forward to seeing what their award is gonna look like though if they even have ’em, that is.

Good luck tomorrow, TierOneTalent… you’re gonna need it…

Another thought about the Jammy Awards this Friday…

The interesting discussions continues about “The Jammy Awards” happening at Trickshots this Friday.

Here are some more things that I am learning about it… first of all, I am finding out that most of the bands/artists who were nominated for awards this Friday don’t even care about it. It’s the more successful and talented bands that don’t care about it. The ones who do care about it are the ones who struggle in the scene, the ones who don’t do a lot in their music and they probably don’t understand how music works (the musicians who are unsuccessful). So I’m feeling out of all the bands/artists who are nominated… only very few of them will probably show up hoping they’ll pick up their awards.

I don’t think the award will be anything special. They’ll probably be getting some piece of shit plastic thing… I don’t think they can afford expensive trophies for everybody, ya know? I also wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have awards to give out at all and the musicians might walk out with nothing.

If you go to this award show… here’s a few things that may happen…

The band Sludge Factory in which the guy in Tier One Talent is the singer of this Alice N’ Chains tribute band… I’m afraid that Sludge Factory may hog up the most stage time than the other bands scheduled to play. There are about 10 or more bands scheduled to play this award show and I’m feeling that many of them won’t get to play because you can very well believe Sludge Factory will hog up the stage the whole night.

The whole show will be so disorganized and unprofessional that the bands/musicians won’t get all the awards.

This show is going to be a trainwreck… trust me on that. Don’t go there expecting to see an entertaining award show when you find out that Dan of TierOneTalent will be jerking himself off throughout the whole show. He will see this as his show and not the bands/artists wanting to be a part of it.

This show is probably gonna fail, anyway. All this guy is gonna do is go there jam with Sludge Factory for a while and later on after that, he’ll take his money and go home.

How much do you wanna make a bet that musicians around the scene are gonna be disappointed with this show? They’ll be bashing this show online the day after, trust me. We did our best and tried to warn people. It’ll be their fault if they go to this show and they feel disappointed.

I’m still interested in seeing how this show is gonna turn out so I’ll be looking out for reviews and photos and stuff. I’ll post that stuff here when I see that stuff. This TireOneTalent guy sounds like a piece of work and I hope I never meet him.

Reasons why musicians shouldn’t worry about awards…

As I said repeatedly before, playing music as a musician shouldn’t be about getting fame, awards, money, popularity or bringing home women — whatever — music should really be about appreciating the art and for the love of music. It should be about enriching people’s lives with your talent and enriching your own life. When you get all desperate for fame, awards and all that stuff, you really are playing music for the wrong reasons. All it’s doing it is just boosting your ego even more. All you’re doing is jerking yourself off and feeling comfortable in your own ego. You’re not gonna enrich your music life by getting some silly trophy.

I don’t care to get some silly award with my music. Not what I do this for. I pretty much make music for me. It’s fine that other people wanna like my music too but I play music ’cause it’s pretty much all I have in life. I don’t know what I would be like without music. Getting an award wouldn’t make me a better person. You don’t need to let people know that you’re talented by getting some award. People will let you know that you are talented by going to your shows and buying your music. That’s all you really need. You don’t need some silly trophy.

Deep down inside though, musicians around this area knows that a music award show is silly — the only reason they are defending this thing and willing to support it is because they got nominated and they thrive over flattery every time they get mentioned anywhere. I don’t need to be like that. Never have and never will.

My question is, will this award show be giving the winners a trophy? TierOneTalent, the organizers still didn’t say what they will be winning and they didn’t even post photos of the trophy. That doesn’t sound fishy enough for ya, huh?

You don’t need an award guys. You’re doing fine of what you all are doing now… just making the music… playing the gigs and getting people to support your music. THAT’S MORE REWARDING than getting some stupid trophy.

I’ve tried to tell musicians this in facebook that they don’t need an award ’cause it takes the love out of music but they won’t listen to me. Musicians are living in their own fantasy worlds.

A lot of these guys think they’re rock stars. All they seem to care about is getting their name known. That’s not what I care about either. I just like writing the songs and performing the cover tunes… and just sharing them with people — getting feedback on my music. That’s what I do. I’m more focused on getting people to listen to my tunes. I don’t care to get awards and all of these accolades.

An award is not important. It won’t make you any bigger if you win one so keep dreaming. A true music artist wouldn’t care about an award.

Another rant about that local music award show but a short one…

Welp, I think it’s safe to say that little award show that is happening in this music scene Friday is good enough proof that a lot of musicians around here suffer delusions of grandeur. There are like over 200 people planning to go to this thing and a lot of musicians are willing to support it. I really feel that you guys out there are supporting the wrong thing.

If you go to this garbage award show at Trickshot and if things start to look all screwy… then don’t go crying about it online ’cause you’re the one who agreed to support it in the first place. I’ll be the one to tell you all “I told you so”… if anything shady happens at this event.

For the past week, there have been some heated debates about this in facebook. Nobody wants to believe that TierOneTalent can’t be trusted. Most of them believe they are a legit company and a few of us tried to warn everyone they aren’t. Most people in the Capital District really believes this local music award show is a big thing. Local musicians are all excited about it and they honestly believe that getting an award is a big thing for them, and I’m like, really?

On top of that, getting an award is not important. It’s not that big of a deal and it’s nothing special. Get off your high horse and stop acting like you’re so great. Getting awards shouldn’t really be what we play music for… you people out there just don’t get it, do you? I’ll put up another post tomorrow on why getting awards shouldn’t matter.

Enjoy your music award show Friday night. Don’t be surprised if you walk-out disappointed.

This area of local music is full of negative people and not me…

Over the years in local music, many in the scene has mistakenly accused me of being a hateful and negative person. In other words, what people most like to call me which happens to be their favorite word is a, “troll”. Maybe part of that is true. I can be a bit negative over the music scene but you know what? I don’t really care and will not be apologetic for all the things I’ve said about the scene. I mean well, and have every right to have negative opinions and be real about stuff all I want to. I always thought it was pretty important to be real about music as much as possible. I don’t have any regrets with any of it whatsoever.

Thing is, I tried my best to change for the better for everyone. Tried to change my attitude and tried to be good to everyone as much as possible; however, no matter how good of a person you are or how nice you become… you will always get a few people who will criticize you and say something hateful to you.

If you put yourself out there for the world to see and if you become a public figure… people are always going to criticize and hate you no matter how you are. If you put yourself out there on the internet, everybody’s gonna get haters and trolls. I don’t deal with negative people. I try to eliminate all of them the best I can. I don’t read negative comments from trolls and haters… I just delete ’em all. I treat my facebook the same way… if people wanna be negative for no reason… they either get blocked or deleted. I’m not gonna let people think it’s okay to say what you want about me… not gonna happen… and you can’t hide behind freedom of speech about it either.

There is really no reason for people to hate me and say negative stuff… I honestly believe they just do it out of the pure sake of hating. They do it ’cause they enjoy it. All the hate usually comes from other fellow musicians around the area. Yeah, I have seen a lot of them say some nasty, hateful and spiteful stuff about me over the years but I learned to get used to it and ignore it all. A lot of them continue to say nasty, hateful and spiteful stuff to this day.

I don’t think it’s because it’s the way I write on the internet or the negativity about the scene. They know I have every right to say what I want about it. Musicians go out of their way hating ’cause like I said they find it fun and enjoyable. They get laughs out of it. So a lot of other musicians join in on the bandwagon. They’re like kids in school… they’re like bullies who pick on kids who think they’re weak. Musicians bash me ’cause of my music and who I am as a person. Period.

It isn’t just me, I’ve seen musicians around here bash others too. I have also seen other musicians say negative stuff about the scene so they’re all just being a bunch of hypocrites.

I tried to please everyone the best I can but I’m done. I should have never changed. Nothing wrong with being yourself, ya know? Don’t let others think you can’t.

It’s sad when musicians get into it, though. All it’s showing that this scene is one of the most negative music scenes that I’ve ever come across from.

If you wanna play music or become an online blogger and get yourself out there… you have to ignore negative people completely and stay above them. Don’t give a shit about anybody. This area is full of trolls and negative people. You know it’s true… don’t lie. Don’t change who you are ’cause others don’t like you. Take all the criticism you get like a grain of salt.

I do have kind musicians who have stuck with me throughout the years… why? Because they’re cool enough to treat me like a human being and they never take my online web presence seriously. If you don’t take my online web presence seriously, you would find me fun and entertaining. That’s what a lot of people don’t understand. People don’t understand that I do my online rants and raves for entertainment purposes on all topics. They maybe negative and harsh rants but they can be entertaining if you take it like a grain of salt. I try to keep everything funny and entertaining.

Just relax, chill, and don’t take what I do personally.

If what I do is angering and offending people, that’s good. That’s part of what I do this for as well if you think about it. They just don’t like me being truthful about things and having a different opinion than everybody.

I’m just one of those who doesn’t take the internet seriously, that is all. The internet is the internet and that is just that.

The world is not about pleasing everyone. Remember that.

Leaving the comments closed in this post ’cause I know the trolls will wanna try and write a bunch of ridiculous things.

Want to know who I think is the best band in the Capital District???

You should check out a band called, The Lucky Jukebox Brigade. Out of all the local music I’ve heard over the last decade or so, I would say The Lucky Jukebox Brigade is the best of them all. This is just my opinion alone and I really mean that. Check out their music… they make really beautiful stuff. I don’t need newspapers or award shows telling me what’s best around the area… only I make those decisions of who I think is the best. I think the Lucky Jukebox Brigade has a big future ahead of them.

Listen to the song below… it’ll give you goosebumps. I recently discovered their music and I wanna get their album soon. I wanna see them live too. Look up their facebook and youtube ’em. Their music is amazing. Love the woman’s voice.

Exposing the truth about Tier One Talent…

This post maybe controversial and might get some responses throughout the Capital Region but I don’t care… the truth needs to get out there.

I know how a lot of people around this area are excited for our very first Award show which is called, the “Capital Region Live Music Awards aka The Jammy’s” and I know how a lot of people mistakenly want to support Tier One Talent wishing this show well but you really need to watch who you trust around this area. While the guy behind Tier One Talent may seem like a friendly and likeable guy… I wouldn’t go trusting him easily but the truth is… this guy is nothing but a pathological liar.  In this event on his facebook page he’s been lying to you about a lot of things. Not only that… this guy is nothing but a scam artist. He scammed money from people out of his shows in the past before and don’t be surprised if he has plans scamming you again for “The Jammy’s”. Another thing, I have also been hearing stuff about that this guy named Dan maybe a drug addict — a cocaine user like his hero Layne Staley was.

Also, you need to watch out for his crazy friend who is a woman named, Christy, she runs a website called, “Capital Area’s Whose Gigging“. Yes, that’s the actual title of her stupid website… major grammatical error fail. She seems to be working closely with Dan for Tier One Talent shows at Trickshot. I believe it’s these two who helped put this stupid award show together.

I know you guys out there want to be nice and friendly by supporting these two people as a way to support local music but they aren’t to be believing in. Seriously.

I’m starting to go around publicly warning Capital District people about these two. I’m trying to talk people not to go to this event and starting to talk musicians out of performing this thing.

This event is scheduled this coming Friday and it has potential that a lot of people may end up going to that show — I’m just trying to stop that from happening ’cause this show simply doesn’t deserve the support. There’s honestly nothing wrong with an award show… it’s cool if this area wants to do one but it shouldn’t be hosted by these two idiots.

These two… Dan and Christy don’t care about the talent in the scene. They are only doing this show as a way to pat themselves on the back and to jerk themselves off with also to potentially scam money off of people for their own financial gain. These two claim to be promoters of “local music” which they are real lousy and amateurish at it.

I understand you guys wanna support local music positively but you can’t treat everything positively. I like to treat local music positively but I am careful of who I trust around here. I supported the wrong things and fell for stuff but I am learning to be more careful with myself. You can’t trust everyone and everything around here. Some people may seem pretty cool around this area but later on you’ll learn that they can be complete scum bags. I’ve met plenty of people around this area over the years who I thought was once cool but turned out to be a scum bag later.

There maybe some crazy people around this area but Dan and Christy are 10 x’s crazier. I know some people around this area will get pissed at this post and will try to defend these two, say stuff like, “Oh no, you shouldn’t bash these two, they are sweethearts and good people,” blah blah blah, you get the deal but you need to wake up about them.

I hope people will do the smart thing… don’t make plans to go to this show… you’ll be sorry if you did. To the bands and musicians booked to perform this thing… you should back out of it. They even lied to artist, Margo Macero when they asked her to perform this show… they said she was up for several awards when the nomination list said she was up for 1. See? These clowns can’t be trusted. I hope Skeletons In the Piano does the smart thing and back out of this show ’cause they are  a talented band and would hate to see them associate with these two. Bands won’t cancel out of this show ’cause they’re too psyched to perform their first award show and they think it may be an unprofessional thing to do to pull out.

I never met Dan and Christy in person (I hope I never meet them) but as long they are putting themselves out there publicly on the internet… that opens the doors for public criticism so I have the right to do this. If they want to confront me or threaten me… BRING IT ON. I’m not afraid of them.

Just a word of advice for you Capital District people. Don’t be believing and trusting people too easily. Not everyone is your friend around here. Only believe in the people you can trust and know.

I’m still interested in seeing how this show comes out Friday. Will this show be a big success or will it fail? I’m hoping it will fail but it wouldn’t surprise if it’ll be a success. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dan and Christy would get so much negative criticism from people the day after this show, though. That’s what I’m afraid of. Again, I’m not all over this thing ’cause I’m jealous, no… I don’t give a shit about awards anyways… I simply don’t wanna see people get hurt by these two and that’s what’s gonna happen if you associate with them. They’re crazy animals, trust me on that.

I’ll be looking out to see how this show goes, though. I’m actually curious on how it’s gonna turn out. I can actually go to the show myself just for laughs but I’m not gonna do that… I refuse to put my money toward these two idiots.

Kev

Do bands and musicians work hard for what they do??? I’d say no…

There are some musicians out there who make claims that musicians work hard for what they do which is how they got where they are today. They make claims that hard work pays off for all their success they get. Now before anyone gets all pissed off and gets their panties in a bunch… you should carefully read what I’m saying first. It’s partly true that musicians do a lot of work to get where they are but it isn’t a hard job as they all say it is. You see, I see that being a musician is not a hard job at all and it’s pretty easy. It’s nothing, really. Anybody can do the same thing that you’re doing. We all write the songs, perform the stages just like you do so we’re no different.

When musicians tell me that they work hard to get there and put their heart & soul into what they do… I see it as them saying, “I am better than you. You should respect me and you’re nothing.”.

Playing music is not really a hard job at all if you think about it.

When musicians get success: get a lot of fans, playing the bigger stages and moving forward… all that stuff is great but hard work didn’t really get you there. The people helped get you there. They seem to forget that the people helped get them there but instead, their egos makes them want to believe “hard work” got them that success.

In my eyes… being a successful musician doesn’t always have to mean getting lots of fans, playing bigger stages and getting big opportunities. As long as you’re writing music and creating art, getting it out there, that’s more successful than anything doesn’t matter whether that musician is good or not. Who cares about the good stuff that the bigger bands get, ya know?

So you had some success and maybe a little bit of fame… that doesn’t make you better than everybody. You’re still a local musician like the rest of us. I hate when bands get to that level — that’s when their egos start to get real huge, they start to have attitude problems, and things could get real crazy with them.

That’s the problem with this area in the Capital Region. Too much jerking off when bands get to the next level in their music.

I give the most respect to bands and artists who don’t realize that they are successful. I think bands who talk about their own successes and popularity is just inappropriate, in my opinion. If you want more respect… don’t brag about your successes. I never did. I can never tell how many people like me out there.

I just think that bands that say they work hard is just a load of crock to me. It’s just an excuse for them to boost their ego and pat themselves on the back. Even if it’s true that they may have worked hard, ALL musicians work hard even the beginners and amateurs around here who try to get themselves out there.

Don’t feel intimated by other bands when they talk about their own successes to you, that’s all they’re trying to do… they’re trying to make you jealous. Being a musician is nothing and pretty easy.

If you wanna see hard work look at the people who play sports out there or the people who serve in the military. Maybe people who work in factories and farms. That’s what I call hard work. Playing music is no different than watching TV or playing a video game.

Kev

Why this area doesn’t really need our own award show… just a rant…

Apparently, the so-called award show called, “The Jammy’s” which is happening at Trickshot venue later this month has gotten mixed opinions from musicians around the scene.  There has been some controversy over it. When musicians disagree with this event it isn’t because they are jealous. There’s a pretty good reason why musicians disagree with an award show in the local music scene. I think the main reason why musicians turn it down is ’cause they don’t need to be awarded for the music that they do. That’s not what they do this for. They don’t need a trophy or a medal to do what they do. It’s not about jealousy at all… it’s about themselves and being a musician. As I explained in a post before a lot of these guys just play music for the love of it. They don’t care to win anything.

Musicians who do happen to support a local music award show are probably those who are willing to do whatever it takes to get recognition… in other words, they are desperate. Mostly musicians who are struggling to get recognition. The more successful musicians wouldn’t care about something like this.

I understand that people want to do something positively for musicians who work hard for what they do but an award show is not a way to do it. Musicians award themselves on their own terms… we don’t need people in the music scene awarding them. Kind of hard to explain but I think you might understand what I’m trying to get at here.

On top of that, an award show shouldn’t be hosted by amateurs such as Tier One Talent. If there was gonna be an award show in this area… it would be run by professionals, and not frauds. An award show would not be at a small pool table hall either. An award show would be at a small theater or at SPAC in Saratoga Springs. Not at some freakin’ bar.

I’m pretty sure these guys at Tier One Talent can’t afford real trophies or medal plaques (they would be very expensive). So chances are, the winners are probably gonna get some cheap plastic thing.

I think this event is going to fail, anyways. It’ll probably still happen as planned but I don’t think there will be a good crowd turnout. I think the only crowd they’ll get are the usual regulars at Trickshot, probably a bunch of drunken whack jobs. A lot of musicians nominated probably have shows that night anyway and I’m sure a few of the bands scheduled to perform probably won’t even show up. This event is scheduled pretty close to Thanksgiving and people won’t show up for that reason alone. Local music gigs usually slow down during the Holiday season.

I’m still interested of how this show is going to turn out, though. It’s probably gonna be a disaster of a show. They’re just going to try and be copycats of what you see on TV. I can see a lot of bad Miley Cyrus jokes going through this whole show.
