My blog site doesn’t get a lot of hits that people think…

Some readers may think that my blog is so popular and may get a lot of hits but the reality is, it isn’t. Looking at the stats, my blog gets between 1,000 – 2,000 hits a day, sometimes even more when I’m talking about something controversial. The blog entries themselves get around 1-50’s views. The most popular views are posts that are mostly about Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight”, anything about Miley Cyrus, Rob Pattison, Zac Efron, Britney Spears, etc.

Although my blog doesn’t get a lot of views and hits that some people would think, that’s okay with me, I’m fine with that. I just do blogging as a hobby. I don’t take it seriously, and it’s just something I like to do when I’m really really bored.

To those out there that enjoy making fun of my blogs in your myspace pages or anyplace else online, that’s fine too, ’cause when you do that, you’re just doing nothing but help promoting my blog some more, so I actually thank you for that.

I don’t see how people can obsess with making fun of this thing when I’m just a simple human being speaking my mind on the internet. A negative backlash of my blogging doesn’t upset me, it actually excites me and thrills me!!!

So don’t get the idea, that I’m a popular blogger, when the reality is, I’m not even close to it. I think life off the computer is way more important than this thing.

I don’t care if people like to read this blog for laughs or to make fun of it. I don’t make fun of people online and don’t make fun of other people’s blogging ’cause I have better things to do. There’s a lot of weird and funny people all over the place online, not just me.

The point is, I don’t live under this delusion that I’m the most popular internet guy. If you’re this type of person that likes to make fun of this same person online 24/7, then it’s definitely you that have the problems. Do yourself a favor, since it’s “Earth Day”, go outside more and stop being an internet bully.

I’d love to go outside and get some exercise on Earth Day, but I gotta work all day today. So that sucks. I also bought, “The Wrestler” on DVD yesterday so I will give you my thoughts after I see the film, I’m probably going to love it. Happy Earth Day, go outside, get some exercise, do some Spring cleaning, whatever. There are better things to do than sitting here and making fun of blogs like a 10 year old kid. People do it to try and upset me, but in reality, I think it’s funny. I’m a strong and happy guy, and I don’t let anything or anyone try to make me angry no matter what happens. Getting angry is waste of time. Staying happy all the time, is what matters.

If I had the day off of work today, I would have went to the mall to check out the movie, “Earth”. I won’t see it this weekend, ’cause the movie, “Fighting” comes out, and I gotta see that instead.

This is no longer a local music blog…

Over the years, I like to use my blogs to rant about the local music scene. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, that I don’t think I’m going to do it anymore. From this point on, I’m going to use this blog for national news and to plug in my own music only. I’m probably going to start removing all Local music posts soon. I’m done with the kiddie games, done with the immaturity around this area, and done with wannabe profesionals which they are really amatuers.

Plus, the main reason, is that I don’t go out to local shows and don’t really support other bands that I don’t see any point in blogging about local music anymore. The area of local music still have some good bands and solo artists that I like around here, don’t get me wrong…this area needs to be more profesional and more adult acting but of course, it’s never going to change. It will always be the same. Stop wasting too much time in myspace bands and concentrate on the music. Of course, you’re never going to do that.

It’s been fun blogging about local music, but since I retired from playing live shows in the music scene, retiring from blogging about local music needs to go along with it. I just realized that. Also many people around the world that read my blog won’t even understand what I’m talking about in local music since they don’t live here, that’s another reason.

I will concentrate on blogging about movies, national music, and other forms of entertainment news. My goal with “Brock N’ Roll Entertainment” is to hopefully grab the attention of the entertainment industry on my blog and that’s slowly starting to happen since UMG wrote to me asking me to promote a famous band.

It’s not about the fame with my blog, I don’t care about that, this is just a hobby, but I’m just like everyone else, promoting things to the masses and marketing as much as possible. I plan to have a domain name with this blog very soon, I’m just trying to shop for an affordable price for a domain name for this site.

Thanks and keep on reading. Comments closed in this entry ’cause I just wanted to point this out.

EDIT To add: There, all local music and anything with NY Local news are off, it only took me a few quick minutes to delete a lot of those posts. I love wordpress! This blog is staying up of course, I’m just going to concentrate on blogging about national entertainment news from this point on.

Btw, the Joe Montepare Jr. – RIP post is moved to the celebrity/musician deaths section. I wanted to keep that one up.

I am serious about getting into martial arts…

This spring/summer, I am looking into taking martial arts and karate very seriously. Also, working out and fitness to go along with it. I have already said this stuff in my blog before, some of you may think I maybe crazy and some may think I’m delusional, but this is real. I plan on documenting all my martial arts and fitness adventures in a video blog, to prove it.

Why have I decided to do this now? It’s not only to impress the ladies, and to hopefully hook up with a nice hot woman, not just that, basically, the only reason, I want to show people that I can be a tough guy. I want to prove that I can be a tough son of a bitch.

If I ever get the black belt, which I hope to one day get, and if all goes well, maybe I will take martial arts profesionally by getting myself into championship tournament matches.

This is something I’ve been wanting for years, ever since I was a kid, (I briefly took karate as a kid anyways) and I think this is a good time to make it happen now. Tomorrow or sometime later this week, I plan on visiting the NY Martial Arts Academy in Greenwich to look at the pricings of the classes and try to sign up for one. That’s the first step.

Commenting in blog advice, read up…

I know blog readers get pretty annoyed when I delete comments and not post ’em publicily, but hey, that’s life. Just my 2cents when you’re all posting comments in blogs. When you read my blog or anyone else’s blog on the internet, and if you decide to write in a comment, the blog owner has all the free right for he/she to do whatever they please with your comment.

It works that way with all blogs. Yes, this is America, there is Freedom of Speech and the first amendment, but that still does not give you the right to say whatever you please when you’re commenting on blogs. I’m not just talking about my blog, I’m talking about every blog on the internet.

If you own a blog or a website, you have the right to do whatever you want with it. That’s your given right. The freedom of speech and 1st amendment rights also give the freedom for blog owners to do whatever they want.

For example, if I post in commnents in someone else’s blog that’s not my own responding to someone else’s blog entry, if the blog owner doesn’t post it publicily or edits the posting to a positive manner, hey, that’s their right. I can’t do anything about it. Yelling and complaining to the blog owner isn’t going to help anything. Blog owners do whatever they want with their blog.

It’s their given right. You don’t have the right to tell the blog owner how to blog.

Just play civil here. You can agree or disagree on any topic you want, just no bullying, personal attacks. Heated debates are fine, just no bashing the blog owner for it. I will not approve comments bashing me or other local NY people.

I know my blog isn’t everyone’s favorite blog, but hey, that’s life. I can’t please everybody. I just blog as a little hobby, something I like to do. I don’t take it seriously, it’s just for fun, that’s all it is. I actually find it amusing and enjoy it when my blog fires people up ’cause that’s why I still do it anyways. Think whatever you want about my blog: hate it, love it, whatever. I’m glad that people are reading it whether it’s being made fun of or not. I don’t care. I use this blog publicly for me to speak my mind of whatever I want.

If you disagree with something of what I write about or feel offended about something I say here, e-mail me privately or comment me in the blog and discuss it with me. Treat me how you like to be treated here and it would make discussions much easier here. 🙂 Easy? Yes!

On a lighter note, I did go to the mall today, and saw the horror film, “The Last House On the Left” this afternoon in theater, I will write a review of it in a few minutes. I also picked up, “Resident Evil 5” for my Ps3, and 3 movies on DVD: “Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Edition”, “Red Belt” (an action movie that stars Tim Allen/Randy Couture), and “Serenity” (A sci fi action adventure movie that I heard was pretty good). Review of “The Last House on the Left”, film coming shortly!

Thought: Brock to seriously get into martial arts???

When I was a kid, in the old days, I was very heavily into martial arts, and I’ve always have been into karate and wrestling, all that stuff. As a kid, I’ve taken karate lessons, the furthest belt I went up to was I think was a green belt.

Well, today, I think I’m going to look into getting back into martial arts again. There is a karate school in Greenwich. It’s called the New York Martial Arts Academy, which is a major karate business chain that’s all over the New York State, there’s a New York Martial Arts Academy in Greenwich too. It’s a school where you get to learn all of Bruce Lee’s moves and techniques. I’m definitely thinking about joining up that school and try to get the black belt that I always wanted. Maybe even get myself into profesional karate or Indy wrestling.

I just want to get myself into some physical sport. I think martial arts or wrestling is something I want to get into. It’s one reason why I’ve been looking into fitness/working out so I can get toughing up to prepare for that stuff.

If I ever get into martial arts, karate or wrestling, maybe the haters will think twice before saying something nasty to me, lol, only kidding. I will only use the physical fighting just for self defense only, which is why this stuff is here for. I don’t even want to fight or be violent at all, I just want to become physical and be active with myself. Just for something good to do besides hanging around the house all the time and something to feel good about.

Basically, the only reason is I want to prove people wrong that I can be a physical person ’cause I certainly don’t like being looked at as a small and weak person. This Spring/summer, I’ll look into getting myself into that karate school. It’ll be a good thing for me to do.

Local musician turned writer?

The main reason why I’ve been thinking about switching gears from local music is ’cause I maybe switching careers. It’s kind of like Joaquin Phoenix backing down from movies to do something else. Well I could back down from local music to do something else. That is writing. Fiction writing. Becoming an author has been my original dream and I’m doing my best to make that a reality. If I can’t make a name for myself in music, why not get back into fiction writing, maybe I could make a name for myself doing that instead?

I actually want to publish my first novel sometime and I might just do that by self publishing it locally. I haven’t written any new novels or short stories yet, but will soon this year. I’ve been writing my whole life and the genre I’ve been interested in the most is horror and crime stories. I’ve been coming up with crazy story ideas as of late and will start writing them soon.

I plan to put up an author only website hopefully, once I get some stories finished and copywritten, so I can share them publicily. I want to get this fiction writing thing rolling soon, hopefully this year.

Happy Friday the 13th day…

Yes, I will be seeing the “Friday the 13th” remake today, not this afternoon but later this evening. I actually arranged to go see the movie with a couple of people. I mostly go to the movies alone but I like to go with people sometimes.

Also, I officially ordered Smackdown tickets for Glens Falls, March 1st. So I’m definitely going to that too. Smackdown is a televised event so when they air the Smackdown Glens Falls show on TV, try to find me sitting in the audience.

I probably going to be wearing a Triple H t-shirt and my ECW hat. I don’t think I’ll be making a fan sign to hold up or nothing, I’m just going to go there, enjoy the show and have fun. Smackdown is March 1st on a Sunday, that’s when the show will be videotaped, then they will air it on TV Friday night at 8 p.m. on MyNetworkTV.

I’ll be sitting 15 rows back behind ringside. Looking forward to going to Smackdown. I’ll be able to see all the great superstars live in person: Triple H, Undertaker, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Big Show, etc. Going to be great.

Review of “Friday the 13th” movie coming soon. I just hope and pray, it won’t suck, I hope it will be a good one.

RANT: Keeping your personal life seperate away from the public…

Being an open book about yourself online when you’re blogging about your life like on an online journal or myspace blog or whatever sounds like fun and it may sound pretty cool to be an “open book” about yourself on the public internet, but the truth is, it isn’t a good idea.

I used to do this in the past in livejournals/myspace before I started using blogs to view my thoughts on entertainment news, but being an open book on your private life will only bite you in the back pretty hard and then people will start making all these rumours about you that aren’t even true. You’ll never know who is reading your journals/myspace blogs and you’ll never know how many people will be reading.

I made a vow a while ago, that I will never discuss my private and personal life with anybody. Whether it’s about my family, financial budgets, my sex life, women, health, etc. Whatever it is.

When ever I see other people talking about that stuff online whether in anonymous blogs or youtube videos, I’ll never respond to any of it. Why? Because the answer is simple, what I do in my life is my business, not yours. People have no right to talk about your personal life. When you see that happening, do not respond to any of it, ignore it all and just let ’em keep talking. Everyone knows that everything people say about you or myself are all made up lies and stories. They do it, they enjoy seeing you responding to it and they want to create a rise out of you.

Be happy, stay strong, be upbeat and enjoy life. Being yourself and doing what you want to do is all that matters, who cares what anybody else thinks about you. Do not let the online tabloids about you, bring you down. Let ’em keep talking ’cause they are just making you more popular. I think it’s funny stuff that people would waste their time and life making tabloids about people online anyway.

RANT: Striving to be happy and feeling good about yourself…

Considering that Valentine’s day is coming up, I wanted to talk about something else besides love and romance. Since I am single, I will talk about myself in this blog entry. I usually don’t use my blog to talk about myself anymore like I used to do in the past, but I’ll do it once in a while when I need to vent and get something off my chest.

My only goal in life is trying to stay a happy and positive life. I vow to never let anybody’s drama get in the way with it. Anybody that tries that to put my life in a negative direction, keep trying, it’s never going to happen. I’m a very strong person emotionally. Do you think I care if you don’t like or hate me? No. Do you think I care if you think I’m not smart and intelligent enough to write on the internet? No. Do you think I care if people write all kinds of nasty and harsh things about me online? No. Do you think I care if people hate me in private but pretend to respect me publicily? No. I can go on.

I don’t have time for people’s hate and drama anymore. If you’re the type of person that expresses hatred toward the same person you’re hating at for a long time, then I think you have problems and mental issues that you need to be helped. If you’re a negative person that acts like a bully in high school (yes this is kiddie stuff), you’re out of my life for good ’cause I have no time for it.

I want to stay happy, stay strong, and that’s all I care about, being happy with my own family members and life. That’s all I care about, period, end of story.

I am serious about when I say that I want to get fit and workout. That is something I plan to be committed to this year. I’ve been researching on doing the best workouts by shopping for workout DVD’s and exercise equipment, learning to use what supplements to take, and eating right by eating more high protein/low carb foods. I’m not training to fight anybody or nothing, just to have a better looking body and feel good about myself, feel more energetic. Prove people wrong that I can be a physical person and be one tough SOB. I’ll probably be talking about exercise/fitness in the blog more so maybe I’ll have a new “blog topic” about that in the blog categories below in the site. Those that don’t know, this is something I’ve been doing since high school, and I’ve just recently decided to do this full time.

That’s enough about me, back to the entertainment news.

Brock’s new year’s resolutions…

Since New Year’s Eve is tomorrow, I figure I would share a few of my New Year’s Resolutions of 2009…here they are…

1. Take fitness and working out more seriously – I’ve actually been working out and been exercising for the past several years or more but I’ve never really taking it seriously. Now I want to take it more seriously. No, I don’t need to lose weight since I’m not an overweight person. No, I am not training to beat somebody up since I’m not a violent person. I want to get fit ’cause I’ve kind of grown interest in becoming a little more muscular. I do several exercises on a regular basis, but I’m sort of getting into bodybuilding. There is a work out gym in my hometown of Greenwich and when the Spring comes, I’ll probably buy subscriptions to work out there, it’s like a mini YMCA. I just want to feel good and to look good. Prove to people that I can be a little more physical.

2. Get a better paying job, a job that I actually like  – no explanation needed

3. Get an education and hopefully go to college – no explanation needed

4. Get back into writing fiction stories again – writing stories is what I did before I picked up the guitar, becoming an author was my original dream before music and I’ve picked up the writing dream again.

5. Hopefully get my first tattoo – I’ve been wanting to get some for a long time.

Feel free to name yours.
