What am I doing for New Year’s this week???

Not a damn thing. I’m not doing anything for New Year’s. I celebrate most holidays. All except for one, and that’s New Year’s Eve. I think going out on New Year’s is pretty lame and stupid. I grew out of hard partying. I don’t do it anymore as much as I used to. Getting too old for it. I’m not a big fan of partying as it can be pretty boring and I find it uninteresting hanging with a bunch of stupid drunk people.

I find it much safer appreciating New Year’s at home and even I think watching the ball drop on TV is lame.

While I’m in search of a woman… I find that searching for women at bars, parties, etc. is not my thing. Although, it would be nice if I had a nice woman to celebrate New Year’s Eve alone with so I can have someone to make out with at midnight or even take her to bed. Someday, though. I’ll make the girlfriend thing happen in 2014 and I’m gonna actually do something about it this time. No more waiting around and doing nothing.

The goal for 2014 is to meet as many women as possible. Yes… I know I’m probably gonna get turned down a lot, get used and played with, get my heartbroken and all that negative shit but going through all that will be worth it to find the right one. That’s what you must do to find the right one, right? Weed out all the bad ones until you find the good one.

So my plan for New Year’s is staying home. Do the usual stuff play music, play video games, read books or watch movies. Those are the things I do to kill time. I need to finish up “Grand Theft Auto V” before I move on to “Batman: Arkham Origins” or “Bioshock: Infinite”.

I am thinking about making a video of myself singing “Auld Lang Syne” acepella, though. That should be fun.

Mentally Strong People: The 13 Things They Avoid…

How can you tell when someone is a VERY strong person mentally? This blogger at Forbes does a nice job explaining it all. This article has been going all over the place on the web so I decided to share it here too. It maybe hard to believe but I consider myself a strong person. I don’t let negativity or drama stuff bring me down. I want to live life as best as possible and live a positive life. To consider yourself a strong person… these are the 13 things you should avoid…

See the article, here

I avoid most of those. My life may not be perfect and neither is everyone else but like I said, I try to live life as best as possible.

The things that helps take care of all of my problems is music and weight lifting. Doing those two things alone is what keeps me strong and confident. I’m sure you can immediately tell I’m strong and confident by the way I write on this blog.

I don’t bullshit with anybody. I’m about being happy and living life good and positive. I’ve made mistakes in the past but I don’t dwell on the past. I let everything that happened in the past stay right there and move forward.

It’ll take a lot to get me upset and pissed off and haters on the internet won’t do it. Sorry guys, I’m a lot tougher than that!

Apple really sucks with their online purchasing…

Ever since Steve Jobs left us, Apple has gotten much worse since. I love the Ipad and Ipod and stuff but I am not a big fan of their online stores: Itunes and the App Store. I went on both of those stores to purchase a few things with a gift card. I redeemed the gift card and after every time you want to buy something, you have to put your password in and after that they force you to answer security questions. You have to answer security questions after every time you want to order something which is ridiculous. I forgot the security questions so I had to reset them which was a pain to figure it all out and go through all that work. I understand it’s all about security and protection of your account but Apple needs to make this stuff more easier and user friendly. Their customer service team is really bad too.

Last night I purchased three things. I purchased the Ghost B.C. album, “Infestissumam” for the new Ipod touch, I rented the movie “The Wolverine” for the Ipad (which I will watch later this evening) and I bought the first and original “Tomb Raider” game for the Ipad (which was only 99 cents).

I really like Apple gadgets but it’s their services that sucks and I’m sure you would agree.

My Led Zeppelin gift for this year…

1479358_10151886712633131_1843593011_n

Pretty much every year for Christmas, I would get something that is Led Zeppelin related and here is this year. This thing was a gift from my brother. He made it himself. He does a lot of woodwork and stuff so he made me this. The 4 Led Zeppelin symbols.

I’ll probably hang this on the wall in this room somewhere.

Really… Led Zeppelin means so much to me. I may like all kinds of music out there but Led Zep will always be my number one. Led Zep are the reasons why I do what I do. They’re my heroes. If it weren’t for them then I’ve probably would have never became a musician.

Jimmy Page will always be the greatest guitar player ever. I don’t care what all the Led Zep haters think. They’re the greatest rock n’ roll band in the history of music. End of story.

Cool Video: Why girls flirt even if they have boyfriends…

Over the years, I’ve had many women who either had boyfriends/husbands flirt with me or wanting me to be their friend, and I could never figure out why that is. Like at all those band shows I go to when I get my dance on I get quite a few women who already had their dates there wanting to dance with me and stuff. Probably because their boyfriends doesn’t give them enough attention at their parties and those ladies just wanna have some fun. So since I make it look like that I’m having fun at  these band shows or dance parties, women would want to dance with me ’cause their boyfriend doesn’t dance and looks bored as hell. I’ve gotten flirted by women who either have boyfriends or is already married.

These two girls explain those reasons pretty nicely.

While it is annoying that women who are already taken seem to be interested in me… I don’t really mind it, though ’cause it lets me know that I’ve pretty much got it with the women and should have no problem hooking up with them.

Would be nice if more single women would talk to me, though.

Check out the Wing Girls channel. Seems like another cool dating advice site that adds some comedy to them. This was the first video I watched by them so I’ll have to watch more of their stuff.

You can’t deny that women have huge ego problems when it comes to men, though. Since they think they are so beautiful and hot, they just love that attention and like to show off at every guy they see. They like to think they’re better than us for sure.

More on cover songs…

Ya know, when I put up these cover songs for youtube, it is just me showing you my favorite songs that I’ve loved over the years.  I just wanna test myself if I’m capable enough of singing everything. If I’m vocally capable of singing just about every kind of music… I think I might start a cover band on my own. I just wanna try different things. Perform cover songs of all decades of music and try every genre. I have a long list of covers I wanna do in the future and will try to get to them all in 2014.

I’ll keep writing originals too, of course, ’cause I’ve been doing a lot of writing as well. I’ll do both in between covers and originals.

I’ve just started working on Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” which should be fun for you all to hear and Sammy Hagar’s “I Can’t Drive 55”. Soon I’ll start doing songs by The Clash ’cause I wanna do a Clash tribute as well.

Performing covers is great. I don’t know why musicians knock other musicians playing cover songs ’cause I think it’s important for a musician to do. I think I remember the first song that I learned to play on the guitar when I first started was Aerosmith’s “Dream On” and I think I’ll do that one too. I wanna do some Aerosmith stuff as well.

I like to keep my cover songs unpredictable and surprising. I just pick the songs that I like and the ones that I can do. If there’s a song that’s too hard and too challenging for me to sing, I won’t do that one. Someday I’ll do some 90’s grunge/alternative music too like Radiohead, STP, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.

You’ll never know what to expect from me.

My top “Best music albums of 2013” will be on my site tomorrow…

I have decided my top 10 Best music albums for this year. What will they be? What will be no. 1? I’m not saying but you may be a bit surprised of what my no. 1 choice will be. I already posted it on my facebook page first and it’ll be up on here first thing tomorrow along with pictures and a tiny review of each album. Be on the lookout! This list will be a good one too!

More on harmonizing…

For the past couple of days, I’ve been doing a little research on harmonizing in music so I can learn how to do it with my own songs. I learned that you can still do harmonizing with or without back-up vocals. You don’t always have to sing in octave of the chord you’re playing, you can sing higher or lower in any of the notes in that chord. This could be experimental stuff with my own singing. I need to learn to not sing in octave of the chord/riffs all of the time. I need to learn to be more melodic in my vocals and learn to be a lead singer. Harmonizing requires music theory and a good ear so if you don’t have either of those, then there’s no point in doing it.

If you’re in a band or in an acoustic duo that do a lot of back-up vocals, harmonizing can be pretty important and I need to learn that more in my songs as well. I need to practice harmonizing and experiment with it myself. Harmonizing could take my songs to the next level. If I want my original music to be catchy and memorable, gotta learn harmonizing. Don’t wanna sing everything in octave all the time, people will get bored with it. Gotta be creative and different.

I’m gonna try to write a whole song with nothing but my vocals sometime in the future, an acepella song using my voice as instruments kind of like what they do in the movie, “Pitch Perfect”.

I kind of want to stay away from the dark acoustic rock songs and really focus on the songwriting. Get serious with it.

Vocal harmony…

So after watching a few youtube instructional videos on vocal harmony… it really seems like a piece of cake really. What vocal harmony is when a singer is singing in tune with a certain chord like say a C chord for example, the back-up singers would sing higher notes that are in that chord. Like in a C chord is a 1 3 5 so the notes would be C E G. If a singer is singing on the root note C, the back-up singers would sing a little higher either E or G. You could come up with all kinds of vocal harmonies for back-ups like “oooohhs”, “Aaaahhs”, “mmmmmmm”, “Sha lalalala”, etc. Whatever you can come up with… just be creative. I’m gonna give this a try by practicing in garageband and then I’ll try it for another song. Should be easy.

Some of you may ask how did I improve myself with the singing? Well, the only secret to that is… practicing. That’s all there is to it. The goal is you want the voice to give that buzzing sensation in your head… get all of that sound out of your mouth. After listening to my older songs, I felt I really needed to improve myself. I wanted to become an actual “singer”. Really sing good and not sing like I’m using my speaking voice if you know what I mean.

Singing is fun. I enjoy it so much. You’ll never see me audition for “The Voice” or “American Idol”… I’m gonna be doing my own thing.

I wanna try doing some acepella singing… see what kind of feedback I can get of me singing without an instrument.

If your voice sucks and if you don’t like the way it sounds, you can always improve yourself. Don’t always think you can’t. I taught myself how to sing. I prefer to teach myself instead of working with a vocal coach. Teaching yourself is better. You don’t wanna get anybody else’s style. You want to develop your own.
