Thought: Why do people attack Guitar Hero videogames?

I have noticed a lot of negativity and hatred toward this videogame by musicians and guitarists that play the real thing. Basically because they don’t want a fake toy taking over the industry of the real guitar. If you honestly think that the real guitar has been taken over by a videogame, then you’re absolutely wrong.

Like it or not, Guitar Hero is the next big thing in guitar playing. Sure, it’s a fake toy being runned by batteries but the game has inspired young kids to pick up the real guitar. Imagine if your son or daughter was playing Guitar Hero and they say to themselves, “Gee, I want to play the real guitar and be a real guitar hero when I grow up.” Guitar Hero is a success because it gets kids out of violent games like first person shooting stuff and Grand Threft Auto games. Plus, it introduces kids to rock music.

The game is not only for kids, adults play Guitar Hero too. Even profesional musicians in the national industry from Slash to Joe Perry even play the game (they wouldn’t be part of the Guitar Hero games if they hated it, believe me). I’ve read an interview with them Slash and Joe Perry in Guitar World with Guitar Hero cover story, Slash and Joe Perry both admitted they suck at the game even though they play good guitar for real. The game is also a good marketing tool to get bands music out there.

I really enjoy Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. I haven’t been playing it that much since I’m trying to beat the other games for the PSP, but I will get back to Guitar Hero III soon. I’m not even good at the game at all, I’m pretty horrible at “Guitar Hero III”. The new Guitar World magazine out now has a cover story on the videogame, they try to defend it by inspiring videogamers to get into the real thing and they teach you how.

Guitar Hero is a great game for the whole family. If you’re not much of a music fan, the game will get you into music. It’s a good thing for everyone. Those who hate on the game are probably coming from people who never played it before, just give it a try, and I assure you, it’ll change your mind and you’ll become immediately addicted to the game. Just because you already play guitar does not mean you’ll be good at the videogame both are totally different.

I’m looking forward to picking up the “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” when that comes out. I’m definitely getting it. Give the Guitar Hero games a chance. Even if  you’re already a musician, the game can even give you musical inspiration, it did with me. It helped me play better lead guitar solos on the real guitar for sure. Guitar Hero is great and will change the world of music.

Report: “Tomb Raider: Underworld” coming this Christmas…

After just doing a little google research on Tomb Raider. There is a NEW Tomb Raider game in the works right now. A new Tomb Raider game is in the works titled “Tomb Raider: Underworld”, it will be available for the Xbox360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and the Playstation 2. “Tomb Raider: Underworld” will be released this coming Christmas.

If you go to: http://www.tombraider.com/, there’s an announcement on the game there.

So happy there’s a new Tomb Raider game in the works! I kind of figure they were working on something. The picture above is a screenshot of “Tomb Raider: Underworld”. This is a game I look forward to this year! I’ll get it for the Playstation 3 of course.

Thought: Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Anniversary for the PSP…

So I just beat the game “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Anniversrary” for the PSP Sony Handheld system. While I did love the game a lot, I thought it was a bit too easy and I even played the game on the “difficult” level and it was still easy. It only took me a couple of weeks to complete through the entire game. It’s a nice game, it has a good story to tell. It’s basically a female version of Indiana Jones.

The Tomb Raider games are fun ’cause you get to climb real high on things like mountains, temples, pyramids, tombs, volcanos, etc. You also get to figure out clues and try to open things and to unlock secret doors and stuff just like Indiana Jones would do.

I hope they keep making more Tomb Raider games ’cause there are no Tomb Raider games for the Playstation 3 yet, don’t know if they are making a new Tomb Raider game or not. I’m sure they got one in the works, but if not, hope they plan a new Tomb Raider game for the PS3. The Lara Croft character is way cool and I can see why the film makers wanted Angelina Jolie to play her ’cause Angie looks exactly like Lara.

Those who attack videogames, saying they are not good for ya and not good for your health, I’d say bullshit. I think videogames are good for ya, definitely. Why? They are good for your “mind”. They keep your mind off things. Videogames keep your mind off everything else. You can actually learn something from videogames and they get you to “think”. If I get kids and raise my own family in the future, I would let the kids play all the games they want.

I’ll probably move on to “God of War: Chains of Olympus” next. I’ll start playing “God of War” tonight.

Cool Video: Grand Theft Auto IV – trailer no. 4

Man, this game looks pretty damn sweet.

Does this mean you get lap dances from the strippers as long you have the money to pay ’em?

I sure can’t wait for this game. I have a feeling this game will be challenging and difficult. It’ll probably take a long time to complete. This game will probably have more than a 100 missions to get through.

Get ready for Apr. 29th gamers!

Thought: “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories”…

After weeks and weeks, I’ve finally completed and beat the game “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” stories. It’s really a pretty simple game to play really. What I like about the game the most that you get to fly in helicopters a lot. “Vice City Stories” tells a story about two brothers named Vic and Lance Vance who go on an all out war against the mob named The Mendez brothers. In the game, you play the character of Vic Vance. Most of the missions of the game is pretty easy but there’s a few difficult ones that were very challenging to get through. I feel relieved that I’ve finally completed the game.

I’ve just started playing “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Anniversary” and that game is way cool as well. No wonder this Lara Croft character is such a hit, she’s pretty sexy in the game!

I only like to play videogames at night since I don’t watch much TV. I’m playing the games on the PSP handheld, trying to beat all these games that I bought from the store. I’m only playing one game at a time ’cause I’m the type of guy that once I start something, I finish it to the end. I’m like that with everything in life.

The reason I’ve gotten into videogames now is that I don’t collect movies on DVD much anymore (I only buy the movies I like that I see in theater).

The Playstation is a better brand than Xbox and the Nintendo systems in my opinion. I just think the Playstation has a better selection of games. The Playstation has my Grand Theft Auto and Tomb Raider games that you can’t get on other systems, it’s the reason I got a PSP and the PS3 both.

Thought: Phil Collins in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories game…

I was just playing “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” stories and I’m at the very end of the game, I have 5 more missions left of it. Phil Collins is an animated character in the videogame and I was thinking if the voice overs of Phil Collins was really done by him.

So I went googling some research information to see if it was done by him.

To my surprise, Phil Collins the man himself is the one doing the voice over playing himself in “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories” videogame.

Here’s an old news story about it before the game even came out back in 2006, it was first released for the Playstation 2, I believe.

http://www.totalvideogames.com/news/Phil_Collins_To_Appear_In_Vice_City_Stories_10844_5221_0.htm

It is confirmed that Phil Collins is the first celebrity to appear in a videogame to play himself. In “GTA: Vice City Stories”, you have to save Phil’s life from getting killed by the mob, it happens in the missions “In the Air Tonight” part 1 and 2 in the videogame.

It is a great videogame. I’m also looking forward to playing “Grand Theft Auto IV” when it comes out to the PS3 on April 28th.
