Neil Young just posted a new song he recorded with his Crazy Horse band. The song is called, “Horse Back”. Warning, the song is 37 minutes long, just letting you know before you listen to it. Neil’s singing doesn’t start until like 23 minutes into the song, most of it’s just an instrumental jam. I just got done listening through the whole thing. Yes, I stuck through the entire song from start to finish.
Some of you may or may not know this that Neil hasn’t released a new album with Crazy Horse since 2003’s, “Greendale”. Yep, it’s been a long time.
The video to “Horse Back” itself is pretty cool. The camera will show you around Neil’s home studio where he recorded that song in. Look like Neil still records everything old school. A lot of old school recording equipment in that studio. You don’t see any computers with Pro Tools rigs at all.
If you look closely in that video toward the middle, the camera will move to a music stand with a microphone in front of it. On the music stand has a bunch of papers with chord charts and lyric sheets, showing you that’s the spot where Neil usually performs his songs in the studio.
I’m a huge Neil Young fan. Not much on Neil Young’s site for now, but look like he’s changing it to announce some big news. He’s probably going to announce the return of Crazy Horse. I’m always looking forward to new music by Neil, so you can betcha, I’m looking forward to his next album.
Listen to the new song, here.
