Report: Death Cab For Cutie makes career mistake by making major label debut…

The talented Death Cab For Cutie makes a career mistake by making a jump from small indie label to a major label by getting signed to Atlantic Records. Their new record “Narrow Stairs” is now out in stores…

Great band, talented songwriters, but I don’t know if I’ll appreciate them anymore now that they are major. I hope they do the smart thing by dropping off major labels and going back to their indie roots.

The same can be said to my favorite songwriter Mason Jennings.

What makes these indie artists want to go from indie label to major when everyone knows how bad and terrible the industry is today?

  1. you are fucking hilarious. do you remember your comments on the soundclick website? ” Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, it’s the reason I play music in the first place, to get signed a record contract to a major label.” fucking hilarious

  3. I put that quote up there a long time ago when I first joined the site, I didn’t realize it was still up there, I’ll change it soon tonight. I used to want to get signed to a major label but not anymore the way the industry is going today, fuck no.
