Thought: Metallica shouldn’t be thanking the fans, we should be thanking them…

Saw the band posted this today:

To be honest, I don’t think that “Thank you” post was necessary. I’ll tell you why.

Us fans should be thanking the band for giving us what we wanted. We wanted the true Metallica giving us our metal back and they gave us exactly that. Everyone can now love Metallica again like we all did back in the “Master of Puppets” and “Black Album” days.

So James, Kirk, Lars, and Rob, you shouldn’t be thanking us. We should be thanking you. So if there is anyway we can all thank you for the kick ass album you gave us, I’d say, I do it right here whether you boys in Metallica are reading this or not.

Thanks Metallica! You guys deserve the positive side in your career and once again, congratulations to Metallica! Yeah! Is “Death Magnetic” Grammy worthy for “Album of the Year”? I say, “hell yeah”.

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with you on this one Kev. I’d like to mention that Lars Ulrich gets bad press about being an arrogant asshole. Don’t believe everything you read. He and his wife were guests on my friend Joe Francis’ ( of Girls Gone Wild fame) yacht in St. Tropez over the summer and he couldn’t have been a nicer, more charming guest. He’s basically a family man now. Sure he likes to have a drink or the occasional line of coke, but who doensn’t? ; ) He’s got a really good attitude about the press (good and bad) and doesn’t let it get to him. He said he’s all about the fans.

Speaking of bad press, I got some bad press of my own recently. Don’t believe everything you read.

  3. I hear ya about the press, Brandon.

Knowing from my own experience of getting bad press, I only get bad press from the local media sometimes. For example things like the Metroland giving me “Best Blog” award when that wasn’t my goal is one of them. I’m just a local musician that like to blog locally. My blog hasn’t caught the attention of the national press yet. If the national news does happen to pick up on my blog one day, I won’t care, I’ll just continue to do what I do, blog about things going on in entertainment news, the press can write what they want about me.

You have to realize that bad publicity is sometimes good. 🙂
