BREAKING NEWS: Actor Joaquin Phoenix announced he is quitting acting to focus on a music career…

Actor Joaquin Phoenix attended the Paul Newman benefit yesterday and dropped a huge bombshell announcement that shocks the entertainment world of film. Joaquin Phoenix, an actor who is not yet a big name, but he has starred in quite a few major roles such as “Gladiator” (he played Commodus, the main villain), “Ladder 49”, “We Own the Night” and “Walk the Line” is quitting acting in Hollywood films. Yep, you heard that right. Joaquin is done, quitting movies for good. And the man is young, he’s about 35 years old I think? HE’S TOO YOUNG TO RETIRE!

The only reason he is quitting films is that he wants to make it into the music business into a full time music career.

More on it here:

NO! No Joaquin, don’t quit! It’s too soon for you dude!

Joaquin Phoenix is one of my favorite actors. I hope he at least decides to do one more film before hanging it up. He’s a fine actor with great talent.

That movie “Walk the Line” is what probably made him want to move on to music but I can’t blame him. Like I said above, it’s too soon for him to quit and he’s only a young guy. Hope he does one last great film before he hangs it up.

This sucks!

  1. Hello

I really enjoyed reading your blog..Let me start by saying that I am an acting nut. What that means is that for the past 5 years I have tried to figure out the best way to do this thing. I have done Method classes, a two year Meisner Program and I always check out blogs like this one for more information.

What I got from all of these people was how to act like them. It wasn’t until I got to http://www.theactingcorps.com that they told me we’re going to teach you stuff, and you’ll do it every day, a lot, but in the end it’s you up there, and you have to like what you’re doing, you can’ t be worried about making your teacher happy. These people actually taught me to enjoy acting again through a technique that seems to take the best and most effective elements from a lot of the stuff I know. Anyways I look forward to all the updates. Thanks again.
