The Stallonezone.com message boards users are angry that, “The Expendables” could be a PG-13 rating. My question is why? I understand people want to see hardcore violence with blood and gore, they want to hear lots of swearing in the movie, but just because an action movie doesn’t have any of that, doesn’t mean it’s going to be crap.
Over the years of Hollywood films there has been plenty of great action movies that had a PG-13 rating ever since the 80’s.
Here are some other great Pg13 action flicks I can remember at the top of my head:
- Big Trouble In Little China
- The Jason Bourne trilogy
- 007 Casino Royale
- Taken
- Raiders of the Lost Ark
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
- The Rundown
- and there are plenty of great martial arts films, Marvel/DC superhero films, etc. that have a PG-13 rating with fun action in them…
You see, not all PG-13 rated action movies are bad. In fact, back in the 80’s most action movies in those days were rated PG-13. Sly is trying to make, “The Expendables”, 80’s style, and he is following that root.
Whether “The Expendables” is either PG-13 or R rated, I don’t care, either one will do it for me. I just want to see a badass action flick with all these tough guys.
“The Expendables”, promises to be a really good and fun action movie, no matter the rating. Sly will not dissapoint. So people trying to tell Mr. Stallone to make this R rated is just a big waste of time. Just enjoy and appreciate the hard work that Stallone and the rest of guys put into this movie.
Reading Sheryl Main’s Twitter page, the filming in NOLA is just about over. Then off to Cali to film the Arnold, Sly, and Church scene (who ever Church is, COME ON, Sly announce Church already, everyone is dying to know who it is).
