There are many different things on what “5” could be. It could mean that it’s been 5 years since the 02 reunion. People also thought it could be the title of their next album to line up after “Led Zeppelin IV: Zoso”. If you need more clues that a 2013 reunion for album and tour could be a possibility. I did a little research on all 4 members. Jimmy Page and Jonesy both has got nothing going on. I looked at Robert Plant’s website, and he needs to finish the rest of his Fall solo tour, so far there’s no plans after that. I also looked at Jason Bonham’s website and he has a short Fall tour booked with the “Led Zeppelin Experience” tribute band, so far he has no plans after that either. So here’s another hint that these guys could be coming back in 2013, in a big way.
A lot of people would speculate the “5” teaser is just the 02 show reunion getting released, but if you think about it, that won’t be as shocking and surprising if that was it. A teaser is supposed to be huge. Something that is not expecting. Maybe they are teasing a tour with the Foo Fighters, I don’t know but something like that would be a more appropriate huge announcement, than just a boring DVD release. I think it’s either going to be a new album, a tour, or both. Led Zeppelin did a similar count down teaser before the big 02 announcement and Pagey did a countdown thing before he put up his official website too, so I stand corrected.
Led Zeppelin deserves one last amazing album and tour. No matter what it is, it’s going to be huge. Something big than a live DVD release ’cause any band can announce a live DVD ’cause it would be lame to tease something small like that. Think about it, ya know? Do I make a lot of sense? Yeah? Whatever Led Zep are planning, they are going to blow up with a huge announcement that will surprise everyone. I’m still crossing my fingers for a new album. We will know in 5 days, which will be next Thursday. Tomorrow, I think they’ll put up a “4” image in their facebook going along with the count down.

That could be it too, yeah, some fans are saying that as well. Led Zep could have their own Iphone with their full catalog of songs included on it.
The big possibilities of what this “5” announcement could be, so far the most popular choices are: 1) 02 Reunion DVD release 2) New album and tour 3) Led Zep releasing their own Iphone.
Keep in mind that while Jimmy Page is great at guitar playing, his other talents are black magic and symbolism. If you closely look at the “5” teaser, it is pretty symbolic but it’s kind of hard to decipher which is supposed to be that way. Look to me the “Five” is trying to say “Live” or something, not sure. So it could be teasing a tour. They’ll give us another hint tomorrow with the countdown.

I think it’s most likely an album. Other bands have done numbered albums and then went to named albums and then picked up the number in the original sequence, for example, Van Halen III.
As for material, I’m not expecting newly written stuff. I’m guessing it will more than likely be leftover, previously unreleased material from the first four albums. Numbering it “5” indicates it’s a new album, but places it their timeline as more of a true fifth album, if you get what I’m saying. And best of all…it will all be original lineup with John Bonham on drums, which would validate “5” a legitimate album title.
You see, once again, I disagree. Again, an album full of unreleased and rarities material is not shocking, and not surprising enough. Like I pointed out before, any band can announce a DVD or CD release, it’s just that they won’t do a count down over something that small. The 5 can also indicate that there are 5 members of the band: Plant, Page, Jonesy, John Bonham and Jason Bonham. They could be doing their next studio album in John’s honor.
It’s amazing to me why so many people don’t think a new album by Led Zeppelin, is a possibility when it can be. I’m 100% sure this is what it is. These guys are musicians. Of course, they can get together and record an album ’cause that’s what they do, make music. They know each other pretty well and they’re best of friends, so they can make an album anytime. I think Robert finally had a change of heart and finally decided to rejoin them.
If that’s what this announcement is gonna be, a new album and a tour, I would laugh so hard at all the people who didn’t think that’s what this is.
While this teaser has got their fan base, arguing, debating and speculating on what this announcement could be, I guess that’s the whole point of the teaser. They want to get everyone talking, guessing what it could be. Also, as I said before, they did similar teasers before their 02 reunion in 2007, and Jimmy Page did something similar before he put up his official website. They like to be secretive about things. There have been rumors that the boys have quietly been in the studio for the last 5 years of not doing anything since their 02 gig in 2007, most notably Dave Grohl was the one who brought it up.

On top of that, Led Zeppelin already did an album full of unreleased songs and rarities, and that was there final album, “CODA”. They could release another one yes, but a band wouldn’t do a teaser over something small like that. A teaser is teasing something huge, unexpecting. Like a small tour or an album are big possibilities.

On another note, I don’t really care what the announcement, whatever it is, it’s gonna be good. I’m looking forward to since I’m a huge Zep fanatic and geek. I would buy anything they come out with. I have all of their albums in my collection and all of their live albums, DVDs. I have most of Jimmy Page’s side projects outside of Zeppelin too. Yeah, I’m that big of a fan. This announcement is gonna big. Yes, they will release the 02 show on DVD/BluRay sometime, I’m sure, but that’s not what the teaser is, something like that wouldn’t be all that important to do a teaser on. Plus, it would be too predictable. The only reason a lot of people think it’s 02 release is because that UltimateClassicRock site leaked the news early, they even said it’s just a rumor, and I wouldn’t believe it as of yet.
