Despite all of the protesting and hating, all that didn’t stop Metallica from playing their set at Glastonbury. I’m glad the organizers ignored all the critics. As soon as Metallica was announced for Glastonbury this year, sure enough there was a lot of mixed responses. People protested Metallica to get them off the Glastonbury bill ’cause the UK didn’t like James Hetfield’s love for hunting bears. He narrated voice overs for a TV show based on bear hunting. That’s what the Glastallica opening intro was about. It was them mocking the protesters.
I’ve watched a few videos of Metallica performing at Glastonbury but later this evening I’m gonna watch the whole set. I love watching Metallica perform live. No matter what you think of them… the band is one of the best live performers today. They don’t fake anything. They can really play their instruments and James can really sing. No miming and no lip syncing at all with this band.
Other than the animal protest against Metallica, the band still got a lot of haters… the haters were also saying that the band didn’t deserve the Glastonbury headlining slot and all that. Even the band the Arctic Monkeys criticized them for getting booked as the headliner, jealous much are they?
Once again despite all the protesting and hating against the band, Metallica didn’t give a shit. They still got it and they killed it at Glastonbury.
I thought the band deserved this opportunity. Glastonbury proved that they are still great.
I’ve seen Metallica live in concert once myself during the “Death Magnetic” tour so I know they put on a killer show. They are still great performers. Fuck all the haters, man. Metallica can’t make everybody happy, although they try.
The band responding to the haters like that in that Glastallica intro was funny shit, though!!! Proves they don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks!
On top of that, why are those Brits so offended at bear hunting when there are no bears in the UK? Why should they care?
