I really want to learn how to play piano/keyboards… think I will start this year… gotta stay committed…

I try to learn how to play piano/keyboards over the years of my life but each time I try, I really can’t get into it that much so I just gave up for a while. I think I will try to get back into learning piano/keyboards again full time and that’s my goal for this year. I have an old piece of shit Casio MIDI keyboard but I don’t play on it much when I should.

I do have a piano instructional book to teach myself how to play that I bought for the Ipad which I should get into it more. I really want to learn how to play piano ’cause I’ve always liked piano music and always wanted to write original piano ballads myself.

On top of that, if I want to get into MIDI controllers and things like that, I better learn how to play the keyboards anyways. If I want to make original songs with full band backing tracks I better learn the keyboards. Sometime down the road, I plan on buying a better MIDI keyboard in the future — maybe this year — but in the meantime, I will stick with the old Casio keyboard for now… just to learn and practice on.

I just want to learn something different other than guitar. Guitar and piano are both pretty much the same thing almost so I could learn piano quickly and easily. I just gotta keep at it and I will. I’ve always loved the piano. It’s never too late to learn even though I’m 40.

I started googling for piano and keyboard instructional books/DVD’s online. Next time I go to Barnes & Noble, I’ll see if they have stuff there too. I love piano music.  Always did. I love electric keyboards too, though. Just want to get into something new.
