Shirtless selfie… showing off my fitness progress for the Spring season…

I think I’m seeing some results in the chest finally. Slow process but finally starting to look like a bodybuilder chest a little bit. Getting big chest pecs doesn’t happen over night. It’ll take another several years to really see some great results but I like what I see for now.

I guess doing a lot more pushups, dumbbell flies, and more cable crossovers pretty much did it. I don’t believe in bench pressing so I try other things.

Hope the ladies dig this now, lol…

Inspirational fitness quote…

1960050_10151976489275205_6653164_n

Whenever I post my fitness progress photos, my physique would often get criticized and those photos would get ignored too. Some claim I don’t have big enough arms or big enough chest pecs or legs or whatever. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion when it comes to my fitness physique. I’m not gonna waste time defending myself on critics. I know I have a lot of work to do. I think I have decent size arms… they’re about 14 to 15 inches now, between there. I think my chest has improved a little. I think I have a good enough physique now.

Anyway, people try to get into fitness/bodybuilding so they can be better than others. I may not look like those dudes you see in the magazines/calenders but that’s okay. I’ve gotten some great gains and I’m pretty lean so I’m good. Bodybuilding/fitness is NOT about being perfect. It’s about being better than who you used to be.

For example, before I started bodybuilding… I admittedly used to be a junk food addict. Used to drink a lot of soda and eat a lot unhealthy things. So I look at myself and say, “Damn, I need to take better care of myself”. So that’s what I did. I changed myself for the better. I still have junk food cravings once in a while (mostly on the weekends) but not as bad in the past.

I wanted to look better being half naked in front of people. I just want the muscular look. To be stronger and get healthier. I just wanted the tough guy look. I think I achieved it even though others don’t think so. I may have been working out for about 4 or 5 years now — I may have little experience than everyone else but I believe I’m at a great start. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in the gym. The first day you walk into the gym even if you’re new to this… you walk in there and start lifting… you’ve already had made a lot of progress. So don’t listen to the haters & doubters that you’ve done nothing.

People just like to criticize you in fitness out of jealousy, I must say. Period.

I don’t want to compete in no silly competition or don’t wanna do any sports… I just do bodybuilding just for the passion of it. It’s my 2nd passion right behind music. Although, I would like to try to get into martial arts or even yoga sometime.

Remember, fitness/bodybuilding is not about wanting to be better than this guy and that guy… it’s about you. Just leave your ego at the door and appreciate what you have now.

Fitness goals for the Spring/Summer

I think I figured out my problem on why I have been struggling on getting some gains on the chest pecs. It’s because I haven’t been hitting them hard enough. For the past couple of months or so, I figured out a way to hit my chest hard so they can get some muscle gains. I need to do more push-ups and heavier weight training. I’m staying away from bench pressing ’cause I find that exercise overrated and it’s kind of cheating a bit. I want to find other ways to get bigger chest pecs by either body workouts or dumbbell stuff. I’ll do cable crossovers at the gym sometimes and that’s way more effective. Any chest workout that has the squeezing motion like cable crossovers or dumbbell flies will be the most effective. I did that stuff at the gym last week and my chest pecs felt really sore for the next couple of days. That’s what I gotta do more. Go for the “No Pain, No Gain” rule. This Spring/summer, I think I’m gonna try to find ways to beef up my chest even more.

I’m gonna try to get better with nutrition too.

Even though the Spring/Summer is just around the corner, I still seemed to be working out throughout the fall/Winter. I take very little time off from working out. No on and off for me. I go all year round. With Spring/Summer just being around the corner, I’ll be able to do outside cardio a lot more often like biking, jogging or just walking.

Goal for this Spring/Summer to get bigger, stronger and more leaner!

Cool Video: Arnold works at Gold’s Gym for a day as Howard Klein…

To raise money for an after-school program, Arnold disguises himself as Howard Klein, manager of Gold’s Gym for a day in Venice, California. He would walk around meeting members of Gold’s Gym by training them, giving them advice, teaching them workouts, etc. Although, Arnold does a good job at not getting recognized… he still fails at it though ’cause of his speaking voice. Even if Arnold tries to go anonymous, you can tell everyone in the video knows it’s him. Especially the first lady on the treadmill who appeared in the video. Her reaction to him was funny… guess she got a bit too star-struck.

If Arnold walked up to me telling me I was doing a workout wrong, I would have been star-strucked too! I would have stopped my work-out, gave him a big hug and thank him for the inspiration.

Check out the video here.

Funny fitness video making the rounds of facebook…

I just came across this funny video that’s been making the rounds of facebook. A video that is trying to depict what it would be like when guys and girls changed roles in the gym. While going to the gym may seem fun and all, it does get a little bit weird. People can be crazy in there.

My question is, why does it always have to be men teaching women workouts when women never teach us guys anything? Guys approach women correcting their workouts all the time.  Why? The only reason ’cause men find this girl cute and it’s their way of hitting on them, obviously.  Come on ladies. Why don’t you start approaching us guys and start teaching us things in the gym? Women do but not a lot of them. You hardly ever see it. The women only teach other ladies workouts and stuff.

I can see why they made this video after thinking about it.

I know this video was for comic material but there’s still some truth to it.

Yes, I’m still doing the bodybuilding even throughout the Winter…

A lot of people mistakenly do bodybuilding and fitness on and off. Many only do it through the Spring/Summer. Some take the Winter season off from working out. Not with me, though. For the past 4 or 5 years I’ve been doing bodybuilding, I’ve been going all year round non-stop. That’s how you wanna do it, ya know? If you wanna be in the best shape of your life, you have to go all year round with little breaks. I only take a couple of weeks off a year — not too much. No lie either.

I’m lifting heavier on everything now and feeling great. I can do 210 lbs on the leg press for 4 sets and 15 reps. Legs feel weird walking around but it’s awesome.

Someday, I’ll show off my leg-work when I’m ready. I’ll have to wear nothing but boxers or bikini briefs for that photo, though. I’m not trying to be an underwear or a shirtless model or anything but why hide what you got, ya know? What’s the point of being fully clothed and hiding everything after all that work in the gym? You don’t wanna waste all that hard work and show it off to everybody. It maybe an ego or attention seeking thing sure but anything to get other people motivated. If you’re proud of your body and how it’s going in the gym, don’t be afraid to show off.

That’s what bodybuilding is about. It’s the name of the game. If you go into the gym and you still refuse to show off what you got, then what’s the point of working out? It doesn’t matter if you’re fat or skinny.

Be proud of your success and make other people mad and jealous. That’s what it’s all about.

I think I’m fine right where I am in bodybuilding…

To be honest, I don’t wanna be so huge in bodybuilding. I think I’m just fine where I am but I will always try to improve all bodyparts and become the best shape of my life. Actually, I’m in the best shape of my life right now. I’ve noticed that my pecs have gotten better. All I wanted was a medium sized physique and I achieved it, I think.

Sometime I’ll have to take a full body progress photo but I’m kind of nervous about that one if I do it, though. If I wanna show off my leg work, I’ll have to wear nothing but underwear for that photo. That’s why I haven’t done a full body progress pic yet but if I wanna prove that I got confidence and balls… maybe I’ll get around to doing a pic like that. I’ll admit that I never showed off my legs that much if you’ve noticed. I know the trolls and haters out there will eat it up if I do a pic like that and the pic might go viral but any kind of publicity the pic gets will help keep me and other people motivated in fitness. I believe that my legs has gotten pretty big ’cause I do a lot of leg pressing and calves workouts plus a lot of biking and cardio helps too.

When I’m ready I’ll get around to doing a full body progress shot. To show you my full physique.

Again, I’m happy right where I am in fitness. I came a long way and still got a lot of work to do.

Scooby says men with muscles doesn’t attract women but I somewhat disagree…

I’m not a fan of Scooby by any means but I thought I would respond my thoughts on this video. Scooby claims that women are not attracted to men with muscles. Do you think what he says is true? I would say yes and no on that one. He is somewhat right and somewhat wrong. It all depends on the woman. Some women are attracted to men with muscles and some aren’t. It’s all a preference with them.

A lot of women are attracted to men with muscles, it’s just that many of them are afraid to admit it publicly. How can you tell that women are attracted to muscle guys? Well, look at some of the magazines and calendars that women look at with the shirtless guys on them. Women share photos of shirtless guys in facebook all the time. They read romance novels with shirtless guys on the cover. They are obsessed with movie stars such as Taylor Lautner, Channing Tatum, and Vin Diesel. You get the deal here?

I think Scoob is full of shit like usual and he’s just “opinionated”.

He is right about the top 10 stuff he listed though. Women like men who are confident, guys with a good sense of humor, and guys with a positive outlook in life (which I have all three, I think!!!).

I also agree with that working out in the gym will help you get more confident with women and I think that’s a small part of how I got my confidence with the ladies is ’cause lifting weights helped me with that.

Not all women aren’t attracted to men with muscles. There’s a lot of them out there that are. I’m starting to get more women talking to me and approaching me in public places ’cause I believe that it’s my built physique that attracts them. I’m not trying to sound like an egomaniac, just talking about my experiences.

I do agree though that the reason I have trouble getting women over the years ’cause I had no self confidence and it’s getting worked on. Hot and gorgeous women will date guys no matter the looks as long as he has the self confidence and everything else that Scoob listed in the video. Any guy can be successful with women, you just gotta know how to talk to them and I’m learning.

Chest has gotten a little better, I think…

1544942_10151901439193131_915750553_n

Chest actually looks pretty decent now, don’t you think? Getting a bigger chest is a slow process but with time and patience you’ll get there. I’m always going to try and improve the chest, though, which is my goal for 2014.

I’m starting to get more ladies (even the good looking and cute ladies) hitting “like” on my shirtless pics in facebook which is a good feeling, actually. When you start to get women all over you whether online or off, that should be proof alone that they like muscular and fit guys. It means it’s showing you that you came a long way in bodybuilding. That’s a small part of why I wanted to get into bodybuilding hoping to attract more women and it’s kind of working.

Don’t listen to people who keep saying you can’t get big and ripped right away. It’s just a silly myth going around the fitness world. You can get buffed and ripped in a short time as long as you know what you’re doing! Anything is possible, don’t listen to the nay sayers.

Fitness goals for 2014

Yes, I’m still going with the bodybuilding thing and yes, I’m still planning to go through all 2014. My goal in 2014 is to hopefully learn how to beef up my chest a little more. I really need more work on the chest and improve the chest muscles some. I think everything else on my body looks pretty good. I have a decent six pack going, my arms are big, my back is pretty ripped, and my legs feel like they’re getting bigger too but the only thing I’m struggling with is the chest. If I want to have a well-rounded physique gotta focus on the chest more and I have been.

Trying to do more push ups. In the beginning, I wasn’t very good doing push ups. I could only do like 20-30 reps without stopping. So now I can do about 60 straight push ups without stopping so I’m getting there. I guess I’ve got to go extreme with the push ups — keep going with them even if I can’t do anymore… that’s how soldiers did it in the Army right? I refuse to do the bench press ’cause I find benching overrated and less effective. I prefer body workouts and dumbbells with the chest. For dumbbells, I’ll have to lift heavier.

I’ll have to eat a lot more cleaner too. I’ll admit that I’m not the best at the nutrition and that’ll get worked on too. Stay away from carbs/fiber/whole wheat stuff more. That stuff is important but don’t wanna over do it. I wanna focus on a low carb diet this year. Try to get even leaner and a tighter body. Eat more vegetables too which I have been doing.

How did I get a visible six pack? Many struggle to get it but it’s real easy to do. You have to avoid sugars and high calorie stuff most of the time. Watch out for high sodium too. You’ll have to give up alcohol and soda if you wanna six pack — sorry but that’s the truth. You’re not gonna get a six pack eating whatever you want. You have to eat clean most of the time so you can lower the bodyfat that’s covering it. You don’t get a six pack doing crunches and situps. You get it by eating real good and doing plenty of cardio.

I do a lot of cardio. Mostly walking and biking. Sometimes I’ll jog. You don’t wanna over do the cardio either. All you need is 20 minutes for a day.

Maybe this is why the ladies dig me ’cause they know I’m in decent shape and they respect that I take care of myself. That’s what the women like. They like men who are in good shape. You don’t have to be a huge bodybuilder to be in good shape but decent enough. If you wanna change your life for the better, fitness is an amazing thing. I’ve been lifting heavy on everything lately and feeling great.

Since it’s just at the end of the year, maybe I’ll post a new progress photo this week. Just to show you how I’m doing and not to show off for attention. That’s the funny thing about the fitness community. People who post half naked photos of themselves they get accused of doing that for attention and ego but in their defense they just wanna show their progress. People in fitness can never tell how good their body looks so they post photos online to get feedback. That’s why they do it. We can be our own worst critic.

When I post my progress pics out there, I’m even scared of the public reaction myself but surprisingly enough I get good feedback on my physique. People tell me in person in the real world all the time telling me how good I look. That’s what motivates me to keep going in bodybuilding. That’s what’s motivating me to keep trying to do more and get even bigger. Even the negative feedback keeps motivating me.

I’ve always dreamed of being big and tough looking. I used to be afraid of being shirtless in front of people but I’m not afraid to go shirtless anymore. There are many reasons why I got into bodybuilding. Not only to look better, feel stronger and healthier but to feel happier. Fitness helps take your mind off of everything and helps make you feel better. A good stress reliever, indeed. Do you have a lot of negativity and bullshit in your life? Well, hitting the gym will help put all that behind you pretty quickly and you’ll forget all the bullshit. Fitness will make you realize that life can be great.
