Homemade protein drinks are a must if you want to avoid the supplemental products…

Since I gave up “Whey Protein” powder, there is still a way to drink protein drinks in a much healthier way. People think “Whey Protein” drinks are healthy because that’s what the advertisements want people to believe. “Whey Protein” in my opinion, are not healthy. Because there are so much chemicals put in them, you don’t even know what they can do to your body. Plus, “Whey Protein” can make you fat because some of them can be very high in calories and very fatty. Like I always say, “Whey Protein” is too expensive to buy every couple of months when you run out, it’s ridiculous.

A better substitute for “Whey Protein” would be home made protein drinks. Just buy a carton of egg whites at the grocery store, any kind of fruit and add some milk. There’s your homemade protein shake. The reason the egg white cartons at the store are better is because there aren’t many chemicals in them. Plus lower in calories and no sugar.

This morning, I just made a homemade “Banana Cinnamon” protein drink, and it actually tasted so amazing. All you need is a half cup of egg whites, 1 cup of milk, cut up some banana, and put some cinnamon, all in a blender, and that’s it.

Just make up your own protein drink recipe, use different fruits or even vegetables, whatever you want. I think I’ll make homemade protein drinks from this point on. Using egg whites, not the protein powders.

How to get ripped in such a short period of time…

At the Greenwich Y earlier this afternoon, I was doing seated calf raises. I had some dude come up to me in the middle of my workout and he told me, “You’re looking pretty cut, brah”. I’m like, “thanks”. I still seem to be getting feedback on my physique every time I hit the Y.

Many people struggle to get ripped. Get the body of their dreams. How did I do it when I’ve only been doing it for 2 years? Simply put, clean eating. Eating is the only possible way to get ripped, doesn’t matter how hard you lift weights, gotta eat right in order for your muscles to grow and repair faster. You don’t need to rely on supplements and whey protein ’cause I don’t. I used to drink whey protein once a day but I gave up on them. Whey Protein or Protein Shakes are a big lie and they don’t really get you ripped. The supplement industry wants your money. That’s all.

I prefer to get my protein the old school way. Get protein from real food. It seems to be working fine for me. Even if I don’t drink whey protein anymore. I still seem to be getting good gains just by eating right most of the week. Eating is key to getting the body you want.

Many people seem to think that they can lift weights and eat whatever they want to. No wonder they struggle! Here’s the secret to getting ripped quicker: 1) If you can eat healthy all week eating high proteins, healthy carbs, whole grains, healthy fats, fibers, etc. 2) If you can work out hard for each body part one day a week 3) If you get plenty of resting 4) If you can do plenty of cardio 5) If you can get 8 hours of sleep a day (sorry to you nightowls out there), then you will get the body that you want.

You can tell that I know how it’s done and I take it very seriously. It’s nice to see that I get positive feedback on my physique everywhere I go, it’s starting to happen. Change your nutrition to healthy, stop the drinking and the smoking (that means weed too), then you’ll accomplish your goals if you change your lifestyle totally.

If I can get ripped, so can you. It’s not that hard to do either, it was all too easy.

How to show your true passion in fitness…

Most people know that fitness/bodybuilding is my second favorite passion behind music. Music is my no. 1. When I go to a local gym, I notice a lot of people don’t show true passion in what they do. I see many people complain about working out. I’ve seen people leave their workout when they are not even done yet. People don’t work out hard enough. That’s how you can tell some people don’t enjoy it. I see a lot of weird and crazy things. If you don’t have the passion working out at the gym, then why bother?

If you love fitness/bodybuilding so much, here are ways to show it in a public gym in your local town:

  • Workout extremely hard until it gets you sweating like a pig.
  • Finish the workout in perfectly good form, every rep.
  • Smile, while you workout. (This really shows your passion, if you want to show other people that you enjoy what you do, smiling is key)
  • Help other people in the gym. Give people workout lessons, nutrition tips, spot other people, correct people’s bad form, etc. This really shows it too.
  • Don’t complain and don’t have a bad attitude. I’ve seen lots of complainers and egos in the gym. If you’re going to have that, then why get a membership?
  • Don’t give up. Staying committed, also shows your passion. I’ve been doing this for two years straight and still continuing on.
  • Eat clean most of the time. This also shows your passion. When all you want to do is eat nothing but healthy meals, all the time, it tells other people that you’re really committed at what you do.

I can think of plenty of more but you get the idea. It is really weird how people get into fitness and they look like they are not even enjoying it. For me, I enjoy it 100%. Most people I’ve seen don’t even look like they are having fun. Having fun and enjoying yourself, is how you get the successful body of your dreams.

2 years of bodybuilding and still going…

Well, so far it’s been 2 years already since I started bodybuilding and already off to a great start. Getting great results. I may not yet, look like those guys you see in the magazines or in the movies, but it’s a slow process to get there. It takes years to get the successful look that you want. I’m happy with what I have so far, though. It takes a long time to grow big chest pecs but it is slowly improving and getting better. Maybe when I turn 40 or a little older, I’ll get the look that I want. This stuff takes a lot of time and patience.

When you first get into bodybuilding, you can’t expect to get great results right away and that’s what most beginners mistakenly think. They think they’re going to go into a gym and think, “GGggrrrrr, I’m going to look like Arnold in under a month”. Wrong. It takes years to get that muscular physique. I want it badly myself, but I’m not rushing and taking my slow time. That’s what you want to do to be successful, take your time. Too many guys are in a rush.

I got into bodybuilding because Sly inspired me. I want to look like him when I reach his age, so I might as well start now and maybe I’ll get that look when I’m 40 or 50. Sly inspired me because age doesn’t make a difference to get into it. You can get into fitness, no matter the age. I figure if Sly can do it, so can I. That’s how the adventure began. I’m never giving this up no matter what happens. This is a lifelong thing.

I’ll post new progress pics in a few months.

How often should you cheat in meals?

Some people may ask how often should you do “cheat” meals while eating clean in fitness. Some people prefer at least 1 or two days a week, only 1 or 2 cheat meals a week strictly. In my opinion, I don’t agree with it. What I do is eat clean during the week M-F, and all weekend, I’ll eat what I want, pretty much everything.

I follow Sly’s method of eating. Last year Sly tweeted this on his twitter and it really inspired me:

“I eat healthy monday to friday ..pig out on the weekend ,gain pounds, than lose it again monday to friday .no need to starve, or suffer!!!” @TheSlyStallone.

I thought that was pretty amazing what he said. You don’t have to eat healthy all the time in the bodybuilding world. Feel free to pig out once in a while. It won’t hurt your physique at all, it actually can be useful and helpful cheating.

If you want to eat pizza, fast food, and ice cream on the weekends, go ahead. There’s nothing to feel guilty of. I eat some junk food on the weekends, it still didn’t make me fat and I never lost any muscle. It helps puts on the calories and pounds, that’s the trick.

Rumor Killer: I am not training to fight anybody!!!

So I’ve bulked up over the last few years. People online have been noticing I’ve been training and becoming more muscular. Which started the rumor in youtube or wherever else, that I could be possibly training to fight a certain somebody. Not true!!!!! When you get into bodybuilding and fitness, violence is never the answer. Violence is illegal, no matter how tough you are. People assumed that I am training to fight the haters. LOL, not true, I repeat.

I train to look great and be healthy. I’m not a violent guy. Never was. I just never lay a hand on people. It is wrong to fight, but if someone attacked me first, then I’ll probably fight back for self defense, yes.

I just want to get the muscular and fit body. I’m not looking to beat up people at all, it’s just never been my thing. So I wish people would stop talking about it.

How to change your eating lifestyle from junky to healthy…

Yes, I’ll admit it. I miss eating junk food all the time. Before I started fitness, I was eating all kinds of crap. Junky snacks, fast food, drank a lot of soda, junky breakfast I shouldn’t be eating in the morning. After realizing what I was getting into, I thought to myself, “Man, am I getting a bit old for this? Eating junk food, when this is kid stuff? I need to change my lifestyle and become a man!” So that’s exactly what I did. Changing your nutrition is not that hard.

All you gotta do is think of all the junk food you’ve been eating and think about what better things you should be eating instead.

For example, for breakfast, instead of having junk cereals loaded with sugar or having fatty pancakes and french toast you would want to go for egg whites, Quaker oats (whole grain 100% natural oatmeal) or plain shredded wheat. If you want toast or a bagel, make sure it’s whole grain only.

For lunch instead of having fast food all the time or fatty meals, you would want to have tuna fish sandwich or salmon sandwiches, quinoa mixed with salsa, chicken breast, any kind of fish, etc. Lots of healthy lunch ideas.

For dinner instead of having fast food, pizza or fried foods you would want to have any kind of fish, chicken breast or various meats that are healthy. I’m sure you can think of plenty of healthy meal ideas for dinner.

For snack instead of having potato chips, candy bars, popcorn, ice cream you would to want have fruit, vegetables, %1 lowfat cottage cheese, almonds, and lowfat greek yogurt.

There, you get the idea. If you want to have a better nutrition you just need to look at your past mistakes that you’ve made and figure a way to make them better. For those out there who have a junk food addiction. Give this a try. Before you put a candy bar in your mouth, think about what you should be having instead, should you be eating a grapefruit or a banana?

Lifting heavy all the time is not good…

Another funny thing that goes on at the Greenwich Y, is that every time I work out there, everyone wants to lift heavy. I don’t see too many people lifting light. I was giving the advice for “muscle” confusion before and I’ve been following it. One week I lift kind of heavy, the next week I’ll lift everything light, next week I’ll lift medium, then heavy again. You want to mix it up. You see too many guys lifting over 200 lbs. of weights or more and they don’t even look that strong to lift that heavy yet.

In my opinion, lifting heavy all the time, you won’t get the results you want. It might give you more strength, yes, but doing nothing but lifting heavy will make you real sore all the time. It’s a risk for future injuries as well. You may think you won’t get injured now, true, but down the road, you will.

“Muscle” confusion is a great technique. If you mix it up, you can get muscle gains and strength both at the same time, and that’s what you want, in my opinion. Bodybuilding is not really all about trying to lift the heaviest weights possible, that’s what people think. When it really should be about looking great and feeling healthy.

Cool Video: Scooby posts a new video that I actually agree with…

Here is Scooby again, speaking on the risks of “Over training” and talks “resting”. I agree with him. This is actually a good video he did. Brings up valid points this time around.

In the past, remember, how I was having trouble with my chest pecs? I had trouble trying to get gains and I figured out the problem. I was doing pushups everyday and also training the chest at the gym once a week, which was way over training the chest muscles.

I solved the problem a long while back, by vowing to train the chest hard once a week strictly and this goal seems to be working better. My chest have been getting better and shaping up some.

That’s all your body needs, train each body part for one day a week.

I train in the gym for just an hour. I just go in the weight room just to do several quick things, do a little cardio after, which will take me an hour to do.

I see too many people spending hours in the gym which that is over training, in my opinion. All you need is an hour in the gym. If you don’t over train, you’ll reach your goals and you’ll get some great gains. Scoob is being decent for a change.
