There is nothing anti-Semitic about Sarah Palin’s “blood libel” comment…

Once again, Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska is under another backlash over the new video she posted in facebook today. She responded to the Tucson, Arizona shooting and defended herself from being blamed for the attacks. She was being blamed because she posted the crosshairs map on her facebook page and it had Gabrielle Giffords name on it. Sarah is being blamed of the shooting because of that.

When she posted her video today, she went and said this:

“Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”

The term “blood libel” has created an outrage by the public online. I can understand why since it has something to do with Jews and ritual murder, but I honestly think people took Sarah’s comment out of context. People are clearly not understanding of what she is trying to say.

The Harvard Law Professor, Alan Derschowitz, did a great job clearing up of what she’s trying to say beautifully, so thank you Alan.

If you don’t fully understand what, “blood libel” means, then you should keep quiet about it. She’s defending herself from all the accusations she’s getting for the shooting, can you blame her? I can’t. She is after all, a human being like all of us, and she has a family to care for. Nobody likes being accused of these things.

People also accuse her of using the word, “blood libel” incorrectly and people wished she used a better choice of words. Are you people, insane? She’s not stupid. She’s a smart, intelligent and professional woman. So of course, she knows what she’s talking about. I hate it when people online act like she don’t know what she’s talking about. She’s a politician, so of course, she knows. Everything she said in this video, she means well.

If you think about it, the things she says is correct. What she’s saying in this video, is she is blaming the media and critics, for the attacks. “Blood Libel” just might be the right word to describe it. It may be harsh but whatever it takes to get her point across, more power to her.

No matter what anyone thinks about Sarah Palin, she still gets my support. I applaud her for this video, for being open and honest. This is why I admire her so much, she can say whatever she wants, no matter what the public thinks. Like her or not, she’s a powerful political figure and an inspiration.

Thought: The Arizona shooter got the world talking about guns…

There’s been a lot of shootings over the years for example: Columbine High School, Virginia Tech, etc. but none of those were as big and famous as the Arizona shooter case. Jared Lee Loughner really opened people’s eyes up about firearms and loaded weapons. Probably law makers are going to make gun purchasing more strict after this crime and gun lovers around the world are upset about it. I agree though, making gun purchasing illegal and more strict would be unconstitutional to the 2nd amendment rights like I said before.

I know there a lot of gun lovers out there. Some people love to collect guns not to commit crime but just to have guns as a personal collection, as a hobby. Some use guns to target practice for fun. Not only that guns can be used for a hobby, they can also be used for protection, and self defense. I know that guns can only be purchased if people have gun permit.

I couldn’t believe facebook today. Most discussions in facebook walls today was about guns, all because of the Arizona shooter got people talking about it.

Brock’s thoughts on the Tucson, Arizona shooter, Jared Lee Loughner…

Yes, I’ve been following the Arizona shooter story that happened yesterday. What shocked me the most is that Jared Lee Loughner didn’t kill himself after the murders he committed. Most shootings ends with the gunman shooting themselves in the head. For some reason, Jared let himself live and to be taken into custody. Why? Did he want to see what happened after he did this? Probably.

6 people died, with US Representative Gabrielle Giffords wounded. What’s even more heartbreaking about this story is that this kid gunned down a 9 year old girl and her mother. All this happened during a political meeting called “Congress at Your Corner” at the Safeway supermarket.

The question everyone wants to know is why? I think the obvious answer is, that Jared is upset and pissed off at US politics just like every one else. Considering that Giffords was part of US government, not local, he thought he would do something about the government himself by committing this crime. People may think he’s a normal kid and a  good guy, but really? Just because people seem normal doesn’t mean they are a good person. You never know what kind of people they really are. Anybody can do things like this.

Did he do it for fame? Maybe so, but I think there’s a more important reason he did this. He’s another one of those people who are obsessed with politics. I pay attention to politics but I’m not that obsessed with it. If you’re this obsessed with politics then something is wrong with you and that’s a warning sign.
